Ken here, Computer Science undergraduate degree courses at @TecdeMonterrey 4+ years #flipclass and this was just another weekend for this Canadian living in México. :)
Hi my name is Emily. I am a freshman at Grove City College. I am majoring in Elementary Education. I'm participating to gain some knowledge from experienced teachers. And my favorite is definitely Black Friday!! #flipclass
A1 I have spent much more time #LISTENING to my students. Start with trust, show compassion, practice empathy. I've been working on more of that in my #flipclass at @TecdeMonterrey My #digped colleagues inspire me here too.
A1: the best thing about #flipclass this fall is that, in the midst of a very trying time outside of school, my flipped classroom sort of runs itself. Previous years' hours are paying off!
This fall semester I have had so many new and exciting experiences. I have greatly enjoyed learning so much about education in such a short period of time. I've been learned to value education more than I ever have before #flipclass
A2 I like strides I'm taking with making my grades more meaningful; I wish I was better at quicker, more efficient, more productive feedback. #flipclass
A2 #SemestreI was good but would have been better if we put more space and time to get feedback to and from our students @TecdeMonterrey#Tec21 We keep learning and improving every semester. #flipclass
A2: Studying for exams went well, but it would have gone better if I made a schedule on when to specifically study, as well as studying in a group. #flipclass
That has been a struggle for me too. I've done more Ss grading and 2 question formative assessments to compliment the conversations we have time for in #flipclass
The start of the school year with flipping Shakespeare was good, but I want to work on implementing station rotation model for writing instruction in MP2 #flipclass
Multiple choice and other self-grading formative assessments are quick & easy. I struggle with getting timely feedback for writing for my Ss. Always takes longer than I think it will for reading/responding to short answer responses #flipclass
I've done more "quick checks" - a couple of questions to see if a skill is learned - and lots of self-grading stuff; I'd like more conversations + revising. #flipclass
The hardest part of college for me was managing my time. It truly is a skill that needs to be learned and practiced just like anything else. #flipclass
I too want to do more with mastery/SBG, but I need more time to figuring out logistics first so as to align standards with our set curriculum (content based, not skills/standards based) #flipclass#ELA
Yes! I'm using GForms & other things for quick, easy feedback & corrections. But, like you, I would like better feedback for the deeper things. #flipclass
I definitely agree. It is difficult to try to juggle of the different classes and assignments. I am slowly starting to get a handle on the work, though. #flipclass
I haven't moved as far with self-pacing as I'd like, but almost every day is self-paced (many Ss like this). And day-to-day is almost better with MS students than a self-paced unit. #flipclass
Fingers are crossed that using Catlin Tucker's Station Rotation model may be the hot ticket for getting face to face feedback during class. #flipclass There just has to be a better way than what I've been doing.
In my education classes, we have discussed the importance of forming relationships with your students. My professor always says, "They don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." #flipclass

I tried a whole unit last yr w/my 8th graders, and it overwhelmed them. They like the day's instructions & working through at their own pace. I need to have "what's next" ready, though, for my early finishers. #flipclass
Same. My district likes Do-Nows (bell ringers). So I do a quick Do Now activity/mini-lesson for 1st five mins then review objectives for the day and off they go. I only have 43 mins per period. #tooshort#flipclass
I blink and the period is over! And I wonder why my Ss have a hard time staying focused in class.... bells ring CONSTANTLY #rhetoricalstatement#flipclass
I am going non-standard here and insisting on talking about the qualitative data I get from *asking* my students about their learning, letting them show me in their own way in their own time. That is my master/compentency based learning. #flipclass
thank heavens for tech tools such as @edmodo@edpuzzle and @activelylearn who all collect for me the data on student performance and formative assessment. Work smarter, not harder! #leverage#flipclass

A3: I'm with @ken_bauer I use the conversations I have with kids to determine what they got from #flipclass lessons and what the next steps need to be.
I'm the only flipping teacher in my dept & district likes teacher centered control. So I do what I can to meet in the middle. I don't see need to go completely asynchronous w Ss who aren't developmentally ready for it #flipclass
What if you used Google Forms to collect reflections on specific lessons/assessments? Then pulled the responses into a word cloud for analysis #flipclass

A4: Not sure if I'll be ready for them this spring but... 1) learn more about mastery and @thegridmethod 2) look more at using SBG 3) more activity/application based content #flipclass
