A1 A good majority of parents at PT conferences said that their child loves coming to school and is having so much fun in my class. Probably the best my conferences have ever gone. #mtedchat

A1) Um, personal highlight #1 was being asked to be on the @NCCE_EdTech Board of Directors! and #2... well I don't know if I'm officially allowed to say just yet! 😉 #mtedchat
Oh! I can relate. Had a tumultous start to my year and when P/T conferences came around I was worried. ALL said their Ss like to come to school! (and even missed me on the weekend! ) #mtedchat
It's been quite the change, that's for sure. I thought I would hate it, but it's been great actually. Except for that math I have to learn ALL over again. #mtedchat
When I was teaching, I taught 9th and 12th graders, the maturity was amazing to witness! The get to know you cards were great from frosh year. #mtedchat
A2) I did a directed drawing w/ my Ss after not doing art for several weeks. They LOVED it and wanted to do it again! Engaged, excited, willing to take risks. #mtedchat
A2 Really keeping up w/my individual T/S journals- it has helped build relationships & has given some quieter Ss the chance to have more of a voice/share more with me #MTedchat
A2) I got to see SO MANY kids become engaged at levels they had not experienced before through @breakoutEDU, @GoogleForEdu, and even some origami! I LOVE getting to the ones who aren't always the number crunchers ;-) #mtedchat
A2 Last spring I created a self-paced Science unit for my 4th/5th class. It was a huge hit! So much fun! I miss those kinds of things about classroom teaching! #mtedchat
A2 As admin, I would say our FFA outreach to Hurricane Harvey schools. We involved all schools and drove a semi w supplies in October. That was pretty cool. #mtedchat
I transitioned to 1st Grade after having taught 5th for five years. Though it pushed me outside my comfort zone, was one of the best shifts I ever made. #mtedchat REALLY helped me as coach and now admin.

A2. We started doing student videos for learning expectations. All student ideas. We will move on to solving math problem ideas. Reading clues etc. flipgrid will help us too. Never seen so many kids engaged in learning. #mtedchat
A3: 1 Challenge is Ss running, yelling and acting immature in the halls. I commit to being in the halls before/after school and between classes to monitor. #MTedchat
A3) I am committed to creating an environment in which every Ss can be successful. Lots of beh challenges in my room this year and I want to stick to making each learn successful! #mtedchat
A3: Time management. Though I value the process of grant writing/management etc., the paperwork can dominate. Can't let it bog me down or deter me from seeking more opportunities. Students and Teachers benefit from those resources. #mtedchat
A3 I need to do a MUCH better job balancing work life with family life! Now that my kids are older, it's easier to think they don't need as much of me... but the exact opposite is probably true! #mtedchat
I need to stop admiring our problem. My plan is to only dedicate one day per week to data/spreadsheets/state reports/ etc... I need to stop ruminating on things I cannot change & focus on things I can. #mtedchat
A4: I need to charge my phone at night somewhere outside my room so I can wean myself from that little jerk! That "gone," I think it will be easier to focus on other things besides the constant notifications! #mtedchat
That is why I haven't been on Twitter in months. Hasn't worked with family time, which is challenging to find additional PD time/ways. It can be done! #mtedchat
Yes!! Important to share the 'why' of that with other stakeholders... Everything you see in the classrooms drives those reports. The data means so much more when we see the experiences that the numbers/trends represents. Leads to proactive planning. #mtedchat
A4: I use a timer and an app 30/30 (iOS) https://t.co/9GZ3GymqhQ These tools pull me out of the tunnel vision I get at the computer and push me to do a walk through the building, check with students/teachers and generally alternate tasks. HUGE help. #mtedchat
A4 I spend far too much time evaluating past data looking for answers instead of finding answers for what's in front of me. I have to be more forward thinking. #mtedchat
A5 I really need to think about this! The goals I THOUGHT I had may no longer be relevant 😉 so I guess my first goal will be to set some goals! #mtedchat
A5: Patience ;) I have ideas (not a surprise to those who know me well). Staff have great ideas... Need to prioritize and pace. All good ideas can be realized, but must be strategically implemented. #mtedchat
As a parent, I love, love, love that you want to do this!! I really wish more Ts would be less intimidated by Ps - we're all on the same team, and you get such great results when we all play nice together!! #mtedchat
A5 I was going to start blogging about the Ts I work with and all the cool stuff they teacher me. So much blogging was in my plan! No blogging has happened! Working on it! #mtedchat
A5 My goal for after break was to do a better job teaching science and social studies. With learning a new grade level I feel like these have been put on the back burner. #MTedchat
A5: Since I switched grade levels, my first goal was not to quit. So far, I've met that one. My second was to ENJOY my days. I think too many people say, is it 3:00 yet,. I don't want to wish my days away! #mtedchat
Yes. Many in my school don't have consistent phones... Non tech option is genuine openness when Ps engage. Smile... we truly are a team. Listen, then talk... Two way communication. #mtedchat
Yes! Definitely need to work on parents volunteering in my room- I'm still a new teacher & planning/implementing that is hard for me/intimidating #mtedchat
It was like that at my school last year too. Lots of face to face time loading kids in cars after school. I had a love/hate relationship with after school duty. #mtedchat

A6 I will make a Google Form for myself and mail it from another account. That way I have to fill out what parent I called and I will have a record of it! #mtedchat
If you take the attitude that they're there to help and not to evaluate, your mindset will shift. Embrace it - their kids will only be little once! #mtedchat
A6 I TOLD someone in my office @MontanaPBS today that I would have the first blog posts up by Friday so I guess I committed to doing it?? Accountability lies in others! #mtedchat
Take things step by step. With the new year we are going to start of with refreshing routines, etc. Just need to focus on one task at a time and have PATIENCE! We will get there #mtedchat
That's ok. Let them know we don't have everything figured out, but you have passion and are doing your best. I have been teaching for 20 years and did a major awful lesson b4 break! Learned a lot. Ok to fail and iterate! You can do it! #mtedchat
A6 I'm ready & needing a change. I feel like I make the biggest difference visiting classrooms rather than deciphering data. I'm excited for 2018! #mtedchat

A6) I am going to try doing a good news call of the week. I have a revolving door this year but today I had a gr8 day with new tweaks to my routine. #mtedchat I finally feel like I may not have to b in survival mode every day.
