Join in the #HISDAdminChat conversation each Sunday night at 6pm CST as we discuss the challenges we face and the successes we celebrate while learning and leading as an HISD Administrator.
Woohoo! #HISDAdminChat is back! After a few weekends off, we are ready to roll. Thanks for making time for some of the best conversation of the week. #BetterTogether
Deshaun Harris / 5th Grade Math / Lead Math Teacher/ Instructional Impact Coach @REDSTEM_Magnet - I’m excited about graduating with M.Ed in Instructional Leadership #HISDAdminChat
A1: Coach teachers to be facilitators of information...let students explore but guide them on how to seek and use valid sources. Just because it’s available doesn’t mean it’s reliable. #HISDAdminChat
A2: Be pioneers when communicating the vision. Take the role as a settler by instilling trust in your teacher leaders to carry out the vision. It’s a win-win situation. #HISDAdminChat
A3: tough one; I don't feel compelled to be first, but I want to make sure that when innovation is happening that moves our students forward, our campus is a part of it also. #HISDAdminChat
A3: I say yes! Imitation is the highest form of flattery! Building upon each other's ideas is what makes us better together-but don't wait too long to act! #HISDAdminchat
A3: I’m not sure. However, a leader turns a “me first” into a “us first”. Sometimes being first lacks substance when there’s no positive impact that follows. #HISDAdminChat

Being a pioneer is awesome when you have a team that supports your initiative. Sometime being a settler is beneficial to let the bugs get worked out!
