Badges can be a method to rapidly respond to the needs of business and industry employers. HigherEd biz cycles often lag.

Loved the idea of Co DOT using badges to quickly assemble a rapid response team to address an issue. Good fit 4 PD & projects.

Providing education must be nimble and responsive. Badges can augment (not replace) traditional formal higher ed in nimble ways

Higher ed often falls for that. Must have where & what details, buy also WHY (& when & how). Building only 1/10th the battle.

When companies use badges internally, they are more likely to accept external badges.
