HSSocialMedia : RT CoachShiffman: HELLO! Tony Shiffman, HFC for the BloodhoundFB of Fort Madison. Also your cohost tonight for the #hogfbchathttps://t.co/oWj3URIZ9e
A1: We call it King. T's married to the E's. G's & C take care of the middle three in closing the Mike in a 30. In a 40 bib on big plus Mike. #hogfbchat
A1: well that’s tough... what am I doing out of it? Quick game/ play action we half slide - back responsible for PS inside out backers. Sprint out has to be turn back protection. It’s mucho easier #hogfbchat
A1: Scheme, front, pressure, and personnel accelerators will determine the answer to best pass pro/ favorite. Against an odd front, like BOB. Pass set = R.O.C. (Read-Out-Center) #hogfbchat
A1: Half slide! It works vs the greatest amounts of front/stunts. Has rules built in for even/odd fronts. Qb knows where he is safer (slide side) and where he is weaker (man side). Using half slide = less time spent WHO to block so i can spend more time on HOW #hogfbchat
A1: I have always liked right side man, C-BST gap protect/hinge away and quick “cup”/inside check then hinge and help they’ve always been moneymakers and Easy to perfect #hogfbchat
A1: quick game - 1/2 man 1/2 slide...would rather be throwing Playaction off stretch...Playaction is best 5 man protection...gets QB on the move helps OL who get to do what they do best, mash someone!
#hogfbchat
A1 cont: actually kinda funny now that I think about it. We do go PA Boot with turn pro out of 5-man but even then we use the RB as an influence blocker, chipping the free end. Does that count? Hmmmm #HogFBChat
A1) We ran a lot of dual read in college against odd. Makes it tough to do well when you are a run heavy team though. Only so much time in the day and leaves the center on stunner island @Redman_58#hogfbchat
A1) Half-slide BOB. We don’t do a lot of empty stuff so I have the luxury of having a Back or TE in on the protections most of the time. If it’s ever BOB across the board i picked up a new term from the kids this year…”Arby’s” #5for5#hogfbchat (s/o to @COACHLUE )
A1: Half-slide/half-man with the QB setting the protection so that he knows what defender he is responsible for. Also carries over nicely to 6-man protection with a back then. #mtzmade#hogfbchat
A1. I like a simple 50 pro when we are empty or sending the back out. It is simple big-on-big for the OL, and the QB has his quick read off of the will backer. #hogfbchat
A1) Half man, half slide. I like it because it C can slide either way to the 3 man side and it fits in with our 6 man protection...nothing different for the OL. #hogfbchat
A1 - Depends on front. V. Even I like slide with a man concept on backside of slide. Vs odd I like having Gs read LBs and fan if/depending on blitz. I like asking a lot of my guys and having a few diff pass pro options. #hogfbchat
I'm always partial to 5 man slide with RB opposite the slide because of how simple it is and, if anyone gets through, you know where they're coming from. If no RB to help, half man half slide. #hogfbchat
A1: Half slide and have the QB understand the unprotected gap/man
I like the pocket plus better for outside pressure pickup, somebody is always dropping an inside LB
#hogfbchat
A1 we will set the zone turn to the blitz tendency of the defense. If there isn’t one we will slide to there best rusher/or to our weakest player. #hogfbchat
A1: Half Slide.
Jump sets if quick game. Normal kick slide if empty drop back.
Start the slide at the playside bubble.
Same protection as normal 6 man half slide pro except qb is responsible for blitzer.
#hogfbchat
I’ve still used the slide protection vs. odd. Protection just starts at the BSG. Thus, the BST is the only man block. Secured the middle & helps the C. #hogfbchat
A1) BOB vs Odd front that brings OLBs. Half man, half slide vs other fronts. Ended up being able to check between the 2 at the end of last year with senior at C, otherwise would prefer to just set it via gameplan #hogfbchat
A1) Read Man. VS even: uncovered lineman is double reader. VS odd: both guards are double readers. Simplifies blocking rules by getting as many Big On Big blocks as possible. Fifth man must be able to move, and can find work when no extra pressure. #hogfbchat
A1: Man-Sort with Rules and Checks for QB. This is when we free-release RB. When in Empty, we have some different ideas we use vs certain fronts and looks. #hogfbchat
A1. 5 man pass pro I like to BOB it. Vs even or odd keying ends and OLBs. Both come we are now HOT! Got to have good tracks to pick up twist and stunts #hogfbchat
A1: Slide protection, walling backside. Most flexible (Play action and sprint out). Lets me see how athletic AND SMART on OLine is as a group. #hogfbchat
It’s pretty natural. Our normal half-slide has RB working inside threat to our as the sixth blocker, BoB works the same just leaves an LB free backside of call. #HogFBChat
Thanks @CoachRomack we use the 5 man Nickel protection scheme with the basic “MAN & FAN” as the foundation. We also use a 5 man gap scheme as a play action #hogfbchat
In reply to
@CoachRomack, @CoachDingus, @CoachRomack
A1 Bonus: I’m a fan of having a back chip, too. In college we would do BoB and account for the backside backer and the RB would scan Mike to Sam. If no blitz they’d leak out to the flat. #hogfbchat
A2: it’s built into the play call. We treat everything tagged with our normal pass pro as 6-man half slide, if QB audibles it really doesn’t change anything for us. #HogFBChat
A1: in the past we let the guard who helps the Center tell the RB which Lb is free. Our OL are much more adept at identifying defenses than RB. #hogfbchat
A2: Typically Extra Pass protector is RB who either goes opposite the slide of the OL or inserts on ILB's in BOB protections ..I would hope Teams would tag them with a call in Pass plays..#hogfbchat
A2) RB is always involved in pass pro in some form in all concepts except Stick so no need to tag the RB to stay in. If we want to keep a TE in to block we have a tag we use for that #hogfbchat
A2: built into the protection scheme. QB might let RB know to stay if he sees blitz when in 5-man. We will call “stay” if want TE to block. We don’t have a check at the line for either, though... 🤔 #hogfbchat
A2) Its built in to the protection call. Like I said we don’t work in a lot of empty sets. Most of our stuff incorporates a 6th blocker in some way. Curious to see other answers from y’all. #hogfbchat
A2. 6th blocker automatically built into pass pro. Slide pro & halfside man backside. Backs will give hogs a call to let them know he is gone #hogfbchat
For us, our base was six man half slide. So, if the RB was tagged to run a route, a "bob" call was given to the line. Otherwise, it was assumed we had out TB helping in protection #hogfbchat
A2: We communicate to the back from the OL. “Hot” call or “Fire” call. Let’s the RB where his eyes need to go first and then that way there is no confusion who the OL have. 5 man front, he checks inside out for first blitzing backer. #hogfbchat
A2. In our 60 pro back steps up and knows he has mike backer if he comes. Slide pro the back knows he has backside, and when we move the pocket back knows he helps frontside. Pretty simple stuff. #hogfbchat
A2 it is communicated through a Common Language (#R4) that identifies one of the 5 Pass Pro Families, which direction, and the 5,6,7,8,or 9 man protection #hogfbchat
LG has 3 step inside first on short 3 step pass set. C and RG help on 2i until Mike comes. Mike come A center picks him up. If there is a twist by 2i &M RG will pick up Mike and leave 2i for C #hogfbchat
I coach the qb’s so my answer is based on time needed. In quick game my guys know to get the ball out fast enough that if a lineman misses on the jump set it’s not a disaster. In dropback more time is needed therefore we kick slide.
#hogfbchat
We use a numbering system with our plays that tells the RB what they are doing. (Route or Protection) Having said that, we do not do a whole lot of 5 man protecting. #hogfbchat
A2) QB has the option to keep RB in if he feels he can’t pick up #6. We will tag W/protection call If we want to keep and H/TE in to protect #hogfbchat
Exactly. It's just a Bob protection with specific rules for the uncovered guys. Uncovered man double reads always working inside out. In 6-man protection we half slide like most. #hogfbchat
Q2: I like having the F pick up the 6th man if I don’t have a TE. If we send the TE and let the F get him then we will always have a “me/you” type call #hogfbchat
A2: we generally tag it. If we need to check to it the QB will tell the RB. Our OL has their specific gap (again, we normally go 3-man slide). Our back will fill backside B-gap. #hogfbchat
We get a 6th Blocker from an RB he has blitz pickup before check-down away from slide-protection. 600 Protect Slide Right RB block MDM to opposite side. In BoB protect, he helps inside out. When using TE for 6th his rules are the same as rest of the OL. #hogfbchat
A2. If we are in 5 man pass pro and need a 6th blocker we crack the back opposite our read side. Change BOB pro to a slide pro. It’s communicated from the QB. Trained eyes from our Q. Pre snap reads #hogfbchat
A2) I signal what protection I want and QB relays it with our coded words. ie razor/lazer. Different words for R/L as well as 5/6/7 man protection #hogfbchat
A2: that's QBs call if he feels a blitz threat pre-snap he'll tell the oline and back at the line... but id rather stay in 5man and throw hot @BIGGUNONE#hogfbchat
We are a no huddle team and do hand signals. So we have designed plays that he stays in. Our line also can call out an audible for a blitz that can hold a RB in #hogfbchat
A2:we have an aitomatic check and release with the back on the qb blind side. When qb he recognizes he'll stay we have a call to designate the rest of the line to slide opposite direction #hogfbchat
A3: I prefer half slide because I prefer the matchup of a running back reading A-gap to A-gap to take on a backer than sliding backside against a defensive end #hogfbchat
A3: half slide or 4 man side. I prefer not have an RB block a DL. And I hope to be fired if I ever have an RB blocking while an OL sets to space. #hogfbchat
A3: half slides 24-7. Have toyed with full slides. Especially looking into them with big blitz teams and some quick game. Don’t like putting my RB on the DE. #NoHelp#hogfbchat
A2: We have done Quarter (Right), Dime (Middle), Nickel (Left). Also trusted our back to check blitz first before releasing. No back we bogey call a hot route. #hogfbchat
A1: base pass pro keeps RB in as 6th (we can give him a route if we want). We can make a call to keep the FB and/OR TE in protection if we want. Easy with hand signals or wristbands... you just tell that individual player where he fits in the protection #hogfbchat
A3) Half-slide all day everyday. At this level I would not want to ask my RB to go block DEs all game lol. Not saying it can’t be done but I just don’t think it’s the wisest option #hogfbchat
A3. Full slide. Everyone moving the same direction allows us to move the pocket and know which gap we are responsible for. K.I.S.S principle #hogfbchat
I actually prefer full slide in terms of strictly scheme...but currently half as we've had a run of absolutely tiny TBs. DE vs TB has not been a good matchup lately! #hogfbchat
A3: definitely full slide unless people start bringing 2 off the edge. If that happens we have to make a fire call so the guard and Center block out a man to that side. Leaves a gap inside but that means they’re bringing 7 against our 6. QB must account for him. #hogfbchat
A3: I like half, or 4-man slide. Our BST is BoB, our RB fills B. Accounts for everything coming and our guys are able to sort it out. Tackles generally take a “B” angle in drive catch. G C G take an “A” angle. #hogfbchat
Am I just overthinking this or is there merit to having another system to set the protections besides R/L words? Seems that's what everyone does so I worry that defenders in the box will start to pick when it's a pass or run. Was thinking of doing coLLege / pRo teams #hogfbchat
A3) Full slide. Small school oline is playing dline/lb too. Stay simple and keep inside gaps protected with least thinking. Also love the aggression of full slide and the confidence it provides the pretty boy knowing A/B gaps are solid. #hogfbchat
Q3. Kinda depends on the play call like to full slide it. If sliding to an uncovered area check for backer run through, look to help a neighborhood and and then get backside #hogfbchat
A3: half slide has been really good for us. Our back can get on a backer as the 6th protector or get into check down if he isn’t threatened. #hogfbchat
A3) Both are necessary, but half slide if I have to choose one. Keeps the RB off a DE, and allows him to check release for checking down. Also, by having the Tackles control the width, and the three interior control the depth, a perfect passing pocket is created. #hogfbchat
A3: I think you need both. Half slide is great as a base but full slide is useful against all out blitz looks and when you want to get 6/7/8 guys involved in the protection to take deep shots. #hogfbchat
A3: When we were an Option team we were full slide...since our transition to a zone based system I have come to really like Half-Slide...keeps your back from being isolated on the big time boy dogs we faced in GA 7A ball #hogfbchat
A3): 3-4 man slide which leaves our backside tackle responsible for the defensive end. I don't like running backs being responsible to block someone on the defensive line
#hogfbchat
A3: Half Slide; we cross-teach it with our zone principles covered is BoB and our first uncovered starts the slide. RB fills the divide; which is usually where the cutback on Inside Zone occurs. #hogfbchat
A3 - I have done both, but I have more success with the 1/2 slide. (Technically 2/5 slide) my BST dual reads and takes the most inside threat. My center and guard away from the RB call side slide. #hogfbchat
A3. I like half slide when the QB has quick drops like 3/5step and Full Slide for Play Action and QB Roll Out plays, haven't had to do a full slide yet though #hogfbchat
Half Slide for our 6 man protection. Gap back backside, BOB frontside with RB taking 1st threat, inside@our on frontside. 7 man gets a little kinky. #hogfbchat
A3: half slide.. in 5man pro an A or B gap blitz will technically turn the pro. into full slide we'll "pop" it with the tackle and throw hot off of the DE #hogfbchat
A3) Halfslide. It sures up the back end w BOB + Back & allows our Q to be more aware of where we’re deficient to the slide side. Not to mention makes picking up the rush to the slide side a more manageable. Also keeps our Backs from blocking DL which is also a plus. #hogfbchat
Use city/states for our pass concepts. City = quick State = dropback. i.e. "Vermont" = 4 verts. Word tells the skills what route concept & OL what type of protection. So I thought of doing coLLege/pRo teams to set direction but don't want to overthink it & confuse kids #hogfbchat
Or as it was so eloquently put to our freshman qb on the ground clutching his chest after getting rocked in a varsity game when he held the ball on Snag. “That’s what you get, betcha won’t do that again”
FYI, he lived, and has since learned his lesson...
#hogfbchat
A3 #hogfbchat half slide. Slide-Man concept, use cov. Unc. Rules. Slide BS g if covered. T locked on E. RB is BS inside-out. Add rule if we get 2 out of 3 (edge, internal, sky rot) become full and rb picks up BS end. Can handle 4 FS in half most time.
Typically, the running back has a checkdown or swing in the pass game. However, when we call Ricky Tango or Lucy Thunder, we are sorting to that side so the RB is opposite of the call and the end man on LOS. Coming up to attack the the defender inside out. In BOB he has a route.
A3 cont) We will keep a TE to avoid RB vs. DE. We will also run 75-80% of time so DE’s are thinking wrong arm pullers rather than getting after QB #hogfbchat
A4 Hands and Shoulders so often you see players lunging and getting beat with a weak push pull just because of a weak punch and shoulders going forward #hogfbchat
A4: hard to say. It’s really a combination of things. Stance, strike, hand carriage, it’s all not coached enough in my opinion, and we stress it all every day. Even eyes, posture, all of it. #HogFBChat
A4: I feel that it's critical to stay as square as possible...while never dropping your Post foot...If you are aggressive off the ball, are square and never give up an inside move you will be OK for the vast majority of plays... #hogfbchat
I agree with it being stance. Whether it’s loading one leg or the other, shifting your mental weight like Tricket teaches, it’s overlooked way to often. Gotta start right if you expect to have the right steps to follow #hogfbchat
A4 getting depth quickly, I do not like quick sets on five-step drops. The quicker the OL gets depth, the more time they have to think and communicate in the event of a stunt or Blitz #hogfbchat
A4: I would say that teaching the ability to time your punch is both a difficult and underdeveloped skill in most OL especially tackles, teaching balance while in motion can also be a struggle #hogfbchat
A4) Using your eyes and what you should be looking at! I saw @AndrewCoverdale speak and he said you have to have active eyes in pass protection. It made so much sense and not something we ever paid enough attention to. That has been fixed! #hogfbchat
A4: the marrying up of the feet and hands. Have to keep both active in pass protection, I would say another under taught part is proper body position when striking a defender, too much head ducking and bad hand placement #hogfbchat
A4: under utilized like under taught? I’d have to say drive angles. I teach 3 based on alignment of the DL. And proper body angles. Too many coaches teach poor form in pass pro. Hips are rolled forward, knees over toes, back almost straight. #hogfbchat
A4 - setting for depth is under utilized in our area. We use two different sets depending on play call, but getting away from the ball to allow for “clearing” is huge for us. I want to clear all the mess out and see what I am blocking, not just guess #hogfbchat
Same here! It gets the job done year after year! Still comes down to the Jimmy's and Joe's, but it's an easy protection that can be tweaked to hide weaker lineman, and it can be learned by anyone. Few calls needed to make it work. #hogfbchat
A4: tough question. I think that still delivering a strong punch in pass pro is something that can’t be overlooked or forgotten. Pass pro doesn’t have to be passive. #Hogfbchat
A4: Footwork. Always teach “recovery.” My guys won’t always get a great block, so we practice how to “save” the block in certain situations. #RideTheHip#Wrench#hogfbchat
A4 many kids have a default setting that they want to lunge and headbutt. I reinforce footwork and balance to at least one kid every single play #hogfbchat
A4) Maybe not most under utilized but its up there....keeping shoulders back when punching, not lunging or going forward and playing into their pass rush move. #hogfbchat
There is always a focus on the actual pressure to pressure on pass pro but lots of coaches graze over importance of the stance. Getting out of the stance and creating space before the strike or pressure even happens. Focus on 1-3 before 4-5 #hogfbchat
A4: applying force through the ground (FTTG). This applies to both the drive foot, and the catch foot. Have to produce FTTG to get depth/width but also need FTTG to anchor and not get pushed like a shopping cart into your QBs’s lap #hogfbchat
A4: Making sure your hands and feet are working with your eyes. Making sure we don’t get caught on a cheap spin move or over extending feet/hands when we’re being setup. #hogfbchat
A4: I hate seeing guys setting out to nothing.. when you're on the slide side don't set just to set. If I'm the LG sliding left and there's a 5 and a 1 tech, give that 1 tech a hand while you're eyes are watching your gap. Can't get too involved on the 1 though ! #hogfbchat
A4) Communication and Unity. Even in keeping it simple, kids must understand thought progression of other OL. Also, when sliding, important that everyone is taking same steps to engagement to build a solid wall. Can’t have 1 guy taking 2 sixers and 1 guy 2 twelvers. #hogfbchat
A4) 1 on 1 pass pro(with pads on) and 1 knee sets. Nothing beats getting a thousand live reps, and 1 knee sets allows kids to have better sets so they can work their craft in 1on1’s #hogfbchat
A4. Staying square to the LOS. Proper angles to meet the defender as close to the LOS as possible. Not everyone requires a vertical set to block them. #hogfbchat
A4. Footwork and hands. How to recuperate and find the balance to stay on the block even if you get beat for a milisecond. Hands and footwork can make it work. #hogfbchat
In my experience we under utilize our players strengths. Teach them how to limit the ways they can be beat. Work the inside half And make sure pressures don’t equal injuries. Your QB may be on the ground but we want him to play the next snap. #hogfbchat
A4: Pad level in my opinion. We preach it so much in run game but not enough in pass pro. MOST HS defensive linemen use the bull rush and rarely anything else. Can't allow the DL to get under your pads and set you in the QBs lap #hogfbchat
A4: 5 Tenets of Pass Pro (from Denver Johnson)
1. Set
2. React
3. Punch
4. Combat
5. Finish
Breakdown in any area can cause an L in pass protection. But a poor stance/set WILL cause an L in this progression immediately. I always start there. #hogfbchat
A4: That it’s ok to still be violent and deliver a punch! Some guys get into the habit of just ‘catching.’ We make a point during film sessions to point out all knock downs via pass pro! #hogfbchat
A4. To me it’s having the hogs aware and just be a football player. Sometimes the get so caught up in rules that they make boneheaded mistakes. #hogfbchat
A4. Something I had never thought to focus on before but throwing the elbows backwards in vertical set, in order to speed up the first kick against a fast pass rusher. Started doing that with my guys the last few days and have fell in love with it #hogfbchat
A2: usually a “stay” tag if it’s Y or a tag that tells running he is check to flat or check to release. Regardless, the tag let’s whomever know. #hogfbchat
Knowing the difference between an interior and exterior linemans approach to pass sets. Typically guard don't have to kick much in high school, you can hard set and turn pass pro into a run fit. Exterior lineman need proper knee bend during the catch and drive phase. #hogfbchat
The snap set and punch is heavily emphasized. I would say the footwork, staying balanced at all times and continuous movement. Prevents having to hold. #hogfbchat
A4: didn’t even think about this because it’s so ingrained in what we do, but finding work and the fact that pass pro doesn’t mean passive pro. Aggression in all we do. #HogFBChat
A4) Most under-utilized aspect of Pass Pro? 🤔🤔 1A and 1B for me would have to be playing with independent hands and understanding leverage + how/when to use those things! The double-hand punch is played out and puts guys in jeopardizing positions mechanically, IMO. #hogfbchat
A4: Stance with your footwork in order to be in proper pass pro posture and position. Want to be able to cut off the DL. On the strike throwing your punch forward and shoulders and head back so you don’t get forward lean and get thrown while never stopping your feet. #hogfbchat
A4 gotta say keeping the OL in a "knees bent, back straight" position. Ive seen lots of guys pushing forward or standing up during pass pro. #hogfbchat
I completely agree. Eye Discipline across the board is important no matter the position. Where should your QB look in the drop. What do your safeties key despite motions and shifts, Where does the LB look. INCREDIBLY important! #hogfbchat
A4: finding work!!! Don’t see a lot of cleaning the pocket. Also making sure you don’t have lazy hands/elbows. Keep them tight and up. Don’t need those hands flailing all around and don’t want that chest exposed! #hogfbchat
A4: For me and my #SutrOLine dudes this yr, it's understanding D positioning/actions and reacting correctly - mirroring and redirecting. QBs don't always go where they're supposed to. DL can see them, OL can't. Must react correctly to what's happening in front #hogfbchat
And BOOM, thats a wrap! Thank you all for being here tonight and making the first Monday without football awesome! We appreciate your contributions to this game and this chat! #AllGasNoBrakes#FastestHourOnTwitter#GoGo#Hogfbchat
A4: Jedi technique. We pass pro with our feet and no hands when I teach pass pro. Feet is the right place means your body and hands will be in the right place. No feet=holding. #hogfbchat
As always, a big thank you to @CoachDingus for being a great cohost! And also @GametimeStrat for being our awesome sponsor! They provide teams with the most reliable and advanced sideline replay system. Check them out https://t.co/zXhCj3xzd2#Hogfbchat
Had my guys go trough one-on-one pass pro once a week without a helmet. Forced them to use their hands and feet, and kept them from lunging forward trying to use their headgear. #hogfbchat
A4 cont: I know it's becoming more and more talked about but single hand usage is huge in pass pro.. as a player I fell in love with the "stab" technique and it's a great tool #hogfbchat
Remember, if anybody has any topics or questions that they would like discussed on the chat, please do not hesitate to message myself or @CoachDingus with those ideas! #Hogfbchat
A4: WALK THIS!!! OL kick steps with eyes closed. DL touches him and OL reacts to pressure. Kids have to learn not to lunge and keeps hands high and inside to counter. AKA Money Mayweather. #hogfbchat
And don't forget our second annual #Hogfbchat clinic at @RhodesFootball on March 10th! Registration is now open at https://t.co/ZFG1VKb2Om so we hope to see you all there! Looking forward to another great clinic.

I've been your cohost Tony Shiffman. Until next time...
Hey guys - we will be hosting a clinic on March 24th. We are still looking for a couple of offensive speakers. If you are interested let me know! I have a guest room as well if you want to road trip! #hogfbchat
I introduce it in run-game first as a replace drill. Called it “Demeanor-Replace.” Similar to the Demeanor-Jerk drill but on boards: Sink the hips & refit each hand individually one at a time at the end of the board, then drive. Partner returns the favor at other end. #hogfbchat
Thanks Coach! I've been wanting to pull guards in play action for years, but ever year I chicken out. I don't know how to block a 3rd rusher from the side vacated by puller. Open to suggestions. #hogfbchat

A4) Run Blocking! Too many interior linemen will just keep kick-sliding until they're in the QB's lap. We work on getting our hands and our hips into a powerful, control position, and then we run our feet and the D-lineman back to the LOS. Different but effective. #hogfbchat
A2: It gets a different call. We have a call for 5-man half slide, 6-man half slide, and 6-man full slide. If we want a TE or FB to be a part of the protection they get tagged. Really simple.

A3: If I coached in Texas I’d say full slide. In FL our backs can’t cut lb’s or de’s so I’ll go with half slide. It puts big guys on big guys.

A4: Where the QB should be. Sometimes I think we get caught up teaching o-line who and how to block and forget to teach them why we have different protections and what’s going on behind them.
Not a popular answer but just my opinion as a QB coach and an OC.

A1 Half Slide, b/c it allows for the ability to pick up stunts and in my mind allows to account for 5.5
BOB is my second pick. I like the simplicity, especially at the lower levels. #hogfbchat
A2 Not exactly sure what a 6th blocker is, never heard of that before.... It would be the QB telling him at the LOS to stay/check. Or if needed, just an automatic rule change to a check-release. #hogfbchat
A4 Eyes. B/C it's hard to rep that, you can tell a kid how important it is to have his eyes up, but they just instinctively drop and lock on to one guy. #hogfbchat
