The #INeLearn hashtag is used for both asynchronous sharing and synchronous conversations. Include #INeLearn in your tweets if you want to share resources or questions with Indiana educators and school leaders. Asynchronously, the #INeLearn hashtag provides educators across the state of Indiana a central space for sharing. On Thursday evenings beginning at 8 CST/9 EST when you use the #INeLearn hashtag, you are joining a live conversation--the #INeLearn Twitter Chat. For one hour, we interact in real time having a virtual discussion.
Hello All I am Matthew Jerlecki - Digital Learning Specialist from @Concord_Schools located in Elkhart Indiana - looking forward to chatting with you all this evening #INeLearn
R1 I did not formally get advisor mentoring off the ground for the #HSDLead program. Other work demands took precedence, and I regret not finding time to make it happen #INeLearn
R1 I haven’t started my podcast YET. Although I did fall in love with @Flipgrid so it is kind of like podcasting. And I did add to my YouTube Channel. I will start it soon. I hope. #INeLearn
I'll share one - really wanted to create my own android app for collecting data from staff on training needs - yep never got that done this year.
#INeLearn
R1: Natalie from Valpo here. What didn’t I get done this year? Twitter doesn’t give me enough characters to list them all. Top of the list? Host a STEM Night at my elementary school. #INeLearn
R1: I didn't follow up with some teachers as much as I wanted to.... time just flew by! We set goals and O didn't progress monitor as much as I wanted to. #INelearn
R1-A course of goals for my first year as the TIS that I did NOT accomplish are creating more quick tutorials for our teachers and failing to follow up with some teachers I know are struggling. #INeLearn
R1: I did not get a student tech team started or even planned, but it's a goal for next year! I want students to have a voice as we move 1:1. #inelearn
R1: I was going to blog more also. I just can’t figure out what I should blog about, not sure what audience would listen to my crap, and not sure I have any crap that’s worth blogging about. #INeLearn
R1: My running plans have been pushed to the back burner. There's always one more thing to do at school, and at home. The list of undone things is pretty endless. #inelearn
Q2 - I think we can ask people in our orginizations for help one - ask them if they see improvements I [WE] can make to help fascilitate learning for next year.
#INeLearn
A2: Every year since 2011, I create a list of questions that my whole faculty answers. What risks have you taken? What are your oops moment? And the last question is what is one thing you love about working at our school. #INeLearn
A2: One way to reflect on growth would be to have students look back at videos or pictures that have been taken throughout the year and choose their top 5, along with reasons why. This would prompt interesting discussions #inelearn
R2 I think taking the time to collect and "hear" student feedback is essential. Although we are part of the same team, learning at the same time, they offer different viewpoints with surprising and valuable info for reflection.
#inelearn
R2: I actually had a “Year in Review” for our 6-12 teachers during our tech PD yesterday. “Where did we go? Where are we going?” Type of reflections. #INeLearn
R2 When I was in the classroom, one of the best tricks was my Ss feedback. We used to do an expectations/realizations writing. I wasn't as good about that as a coach. Did a lot more beat myself up over unfinished lists. #INeLearn
R2 Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. Set time aside with your staff to discuss why you became a teacher and reflect on the past school years. #INelearn
If you want ideas and protocols for how to practically do this (reflecting), check out a blog post I wrote with some practical takeaways on this topic! #INelearnhttps://t.co/4TO2xUe1QP
R2: Teacher-wise, it was not the intended result but we've been planning to de-track Alg II next year which forced us to take a cold-eyed look at our curriculum map together. Student POV: most of what we are doing now connects back to prior skills. Daily formative. #inelearn
a3: One success I've had this year is getting this project funded and helping students to see all the amazing possibilities of being curious Hoping to get more funding and will be launching on May 11. Ascending to New Heights https://t.co/v1enrwEyKF#INeLearn
R3: We had a lot of fun this year. Lots of great stories of kids growing. Won't lie, it felt like a blur and need about another month to get through the things we want to. #inelearn
R3 Sometimes it's the tiniest moments of success that mean the most. Yesterday, after I led training, I watched one teacher explain to another how to force a copy of Google doc. Watching them teach each other is just as exciting as watching students teach each other. #inelearn
R3--also sent a monthly newsletter to all Ts, created a Google Site for teachers to refer to, increased our PD offerings by 100%+ and we're hosting two in-house summer pd sessions!
#INeLearn
Oooh and another thing I was very happy to have accomplished--Common @CommonSenseEd Ambassador. Have wanted to go through that process for some time. Well worth it! #INeLearn
a4: We are using @bloxelsbuilder@AdobeSpark and @flipgrid to maintain our learning right up to the end of school. So much positivity comes when students can tell their own stories! #inelearn
R4: It's been such a crazy year in my building, we're all in "laugh so you don't cry" mode, but I've been trying to keep things light for my Alg II when curriculum gets heavy. Tomorrow we'll do a May The Fourth Be With You @Desmos Polygraph. #inelearn
R4 I'm with everyone else. Google Keep and I are in a committed relationship. But @Symbaloo has been a great help to me as I try to keep track of resources I'm curating for teachers and students. #inelearn
I get the Google Keep love. I'd think creative tools that let learners express themselves in new ways would keep me sane in a class/coach situation #INeLearn Razzle Dazzle with purpose.
Good catch. Rather than 3 ability-grouped tracks, next year there will be "Honors Alg II" and "Alg II". We're making sure we have strategies to support our struggling learners, and our kids who may be ready to move faster. Also, taking a "power standards" approach. #inelearn
R5--we're in our infancy with GSuite so I'm going to focus on honing our skills; encouraging teachers to explore @Flipgrid and creating screencasts (haven't set on a tool for that).
#INeLearn
R4: I’m also giving a modified version of our final and going to use it for review, reteaching, and recalling info from earlier in the semester. It’s a test from 2005 but should be good review of content. #INeLearn
R5: I flipped my Alg II instruction at the semester break. Kinda @edpuzzle-curious to see how I can amp up my videos. Also planning for an MTBoS/#DitchHW-inspired Alg Lab for incoming freshmen that should be a blast. #inelearn
R6: I will be attending a couple Summer if eLearning conferences, hosting a couple Google boot camps, and working on my Blended PD activities! #INelearn
R6: I’m running the tech side of our summer school program. Help Ss and Ts with issues with @CanvasLMS, hopefully helping with course curation, and assessments. I’m ready to start teaching next year’s content tomorrow. #INeLearn
I was actually just thinking about that. As a coach I'm going to attend some of the two day sessions offered this summer and I also have been accepted to attend SCRIPT training for the WCIESC...hopefully several of our teachers join me!
R6: *evergreen tweet* Lots of beach time, reading, running, prepping for the new Alg Lab class, and my MIL is planning to visit and wants to see some sights, so a little Great Lakes-area travel. #inelearn
Glad to see unplugging as part of the summer plans! It's so important to take a break. But when you're refueled, there are so many options for PD. #INeLearn book club is just one!
R6: I'm also attending (and presenting) at a couple of Summer of eLearning conferences. I can't wait! Being around like-minded, enthusiastic EdTech people always gets me rejuvenated and makes the ideas start flowing! #INeLearn
R6: oh, a week in Costa Rica also. Plan on doing some 360 video capture to possibly create some VR opportunities for kids with biodiversity, ecosystems, evolution, volcanoes, etc. #INeLearn
R7: I'm a first-timer at #eVillageNWI, pretty psyched to meet some of my #inelearn tweeps IRL. And Hammond is the Family Business, so that will be old home week. Gonna crowdsource some e-Learning Day activity curation ideas.
R8: Plan on building off of this year and adding in a couple more projects. The kids I was fortunate enough to have this year taught me a lot as well. #INelearn
R8: My main goal every year is to be better at parent contact. Maybe make a shared contact log with another teacher so we can keep each other accountable. #INeLearn
A8: Podcast will be running for sure. Have created all the subscriptions and set up my feeds so that I can get posted on Itunes and GooglePlay so I am ready to go - no excuses #inelearn
R8: I would like to do a better job of following up with teachers I work with. I can see Google Keep helping with this so I don’t forget or wait too long. #INeLearn
R8: Plan on running a few 3D printing workshops along with design thinking this summer and we will have our 2nd STEM Camp for Elementary and Junior High Students. #INelearn
I'm definitely bringing in some input from the #INeLearn eDay chats, plus results from a student survey I did in my building, and some thoughts on my experience as a parent with eDays. I'm hoping the attendees will bring their knowledge and it will really cook.
R8: I want to be more intentional about "watering the flowers" to grow our desired results. Thanks to @KJenner2 for introducing me to that phrase at #FocusForum this week.
#INeLearn
WU: We took 25 teachers to #edtechteam Indiana Summit. Seeing these Ts get as excited about the #GSuite possibilities made me smile! These leaders will do amazing things for our district. #INeLearn
WU: writing about it tonight. We've got a huge traffic issue on campus rn due to construction, so I started class Wed by just letting students vent their frustration. Then I admitted a mistake I made on our flipped notes video. It was the most productive class all year. #inelearn
Goodnight and thanks to everyone for joining us tonight! It was great chatting! I'm inspired by all your summer and 18-19 goals! Hope to see some of you at Summer of eLearning Conferences! #INeLearn
