Welcome to #BookCampPD ! This week we focus on "Book Tasting" - where you share the titles of books you are currently reading. Pictured below are books recommended by others in this #PLN. Get ready to share titles you're reading.
Brittany from SC. 8th ELA. Looking forward to the nicer weather and playing outside with my daughter. We did her first hopscotch yesterday. #bookcamppd
I’m looking forward to sitting in my back yard, playing with my daughter in her kiddie pool and bubble machine and just having time to unwind. Spring Break ends tomorrow and it has been fabulous. #Bookcamppd
Be sure when you answer questions, you label them A1, A2, A3. We’re going to be having fun, so be sure to share your thoughts and add #BookCampPD to each tweet.
A1: PD-wise-still reading #winwindiscipline cuz it's forever long. For fun- reading The Dog Stars and The End (last in a kid "zombie" survival series) #bookcamppd
A1: Just finished “The Self-Driven Child” by Stixrud & @NedJohnson. A great read about how we can empower young people to develop a sense of agency! I’ve got “The Hope Circuit,” by Martin Seligman, & “Big Potential,” by @shawnachor on deck! #BookCampPD
A1. Culturize by @casas_jimmy is my current PD read. I’ve been slow about reading it only because this time of the year is tough. For fun: I just read Hillbilly Elegy and looking for my next read there. #bookcamppd
A1 Currently reading #LCInnovation and 17,000 Classroom visits can't be wrong, also started Learning First, Technology Second, finished #limitlessclassroom last week #BookCampPD
A2: My “to read list” is a mile long! I love to see what all of our #PLN Twitter friends are reading. I always add those to my list. Anything on education, leadership, advocacy, positive psychology, social justice -- I’m in! #BookCampPD
A2 sometimes it is based on my own self-eval of a skill I want to develop, or a concept that I want to learn more about, or for reflection/inspiration #BookCampPD
A1. Hi all! Melissa from Nebraska, 11-12 ELA jumping in. Right now I'm reading Intention for Critical Creativity, and next up is Penny Kittle and Kelly Gallagher's 180 days #BookCampPD
A2. My favorites are books that help me to think about supporting positive relationships with students or improving school climate. I love What’s Under Your Cape by @BarbaraGruener#BookCampPD
A2: The opportunityto choose is always really cool and based on recommendations but also on what I need at the moment. Professional, personal philosophical... etc. I try to #MixItUp#BookCampPD
Me too! @burgessdave The chats to go along with them are awesome. It's a different experience when authors will have real conversations with you. #BookCampPD

A2: Table of Contents is where I go to. I want to make sure I'm getting some topics that I'm interested in at that time. Then the reviews also have a big impact on me! #bookcamppd
I cannot wait to read @MathDenisNJ’s new #HackingMathematics book. I’m going to pick a copy of it up this Summer.. have to get my stock pile down some before I can feel okay with buying more... but I will buy it! #Bookcamppd
A2: Definitely see what others are reading and what will help me solve a current problem. Sometimes you just need something to add a little inspiration to your life. #BookCampPD
A2: That's always a hard decision. I love to hear what my #PLN is saying about the book, and read the reviews. I also like to try out some of the chats centered around the book to get a feel for what it's all about. #BookCampPD

A4 it means that we are not the same as yesterday, always room to grow and do better, we just have more knowledge moving forward and can act on it, Ts need to reflect and grow #BookCampPD
I've SO appreciated how accessible all the authors have made themselves for us! They're all amazing! This really enhances the experience of reading their books! I love how they are so connected with their readers! Shows us how important connections are w/our Ss too! #BookCampPD

A4: The best prep for tmrw is by doing our best today! Each of us has a personal obligation to grow enthusiastically in the vocation we love. It is ultimately my choice to let my passion, curiosities, risks & failures propel me into tmrw, hopefully others follow! #BookCampPD

A4: It is up to the individual to progress or stay in the past. We have to take the reins and be in charge of our own learning and progression in ourselves and our classrooms. #BookCampPD
Another astounding #BookCampPD chat thanks to all of you who jump right in, share your thoughts and enrich the conversation for all educators to benefit from. Many thanks!
