  • LeachTeach4 Dec 3 @ 11:37 PM EST
A1: We're working on career research and it's getting kind of crazy...sometimes you just have to slow down and allow student to have time to talk about what they've been researching...that's the plan for tomorrow :-) #oredchat
  • SteinbrinkLaura Dec 3 @ 11:37 PM EST
A1: Slowly. I add 1 new tool, teach them how to use it, let them practice, and then move on. Then I can allow choice of tool for assignment. What works best for each is diff, so I allow for choice after training how to use each strategy or tool. #OrEdChat
  • howie_hua Dec 3 @ 11:37 PM EST
A1: Deep learning: Focusing on this. Constantly ask myself, are they being an active learner? #oredchat

    In reply to @LeachTeach4, @padlet
  • SteinbrinkLaura Dec 3 @ 11:43 PM EST
A2: Transformative learning tools. If we're talking tech, then other than Google Apps, I love @PearDeck , @RecapThat , and #BookSnaps (and it's cousins) for the win! #OrEdChat
  • hmarrs24 - Moderator Dec 3 @ 11:43 PM EST
A2: @Seesaw and @BookCreatorApp are my favs!! You get out of them what you put in. They have the potential to be extremely transformative or you could use them as a substitute...you have to be intentional in how you use them #OrEdChat
  • MViTDiTeach Dec 3 @ 11:43 PM EST
I #appsmash @Screencastify w/ so many different tools. Not sure what I would do without it #oredchat
    In reply to @EdTechBrennan, @Screencastify, @Screencastify
  • EdTechBrennan Dec 3 @ 11:44 PM EST

  • SteinbrinkLaura Dec 3 @ 11:46 PM EST
Great! I have a presentation on Google Slides you can check out. I use it to present to educators in MO and will use it in Arkansas this summer. I think this is my QR code. #OrEdChat
    In reply to @EdTechBrennan, @PearDeck, @RecapThat
  • KathiSueSummers Dec 3 @ 11:46 PM EST
A3: I try to give Ss as much time as possible. Individual convos help us determine amt of time needed. We determine together. Some need more than others. #OrEdChat
  • LeachTeach4 Dec 3 @ 11:46 PM EST
A3: In English class they are creative in their writing...even when it's research. I try to provide options for each thing we do...I like to have choices, students do too. :-) #oredchat
  • EdTechRanger Dec 3 @ 11:46 PM EST
A2: WeVideo is my new favorite. We are always doing Slides, but adding new elements each time. #oredchat
  • MViTDiTeach Dec 3 @ 11:47 PM EST

A3: Every week for sure. Genius Hour and 5E (elaborate) time each week.#OrEdChat
  • MViTDiTeach Dec 3 @ 11:48 PM EST
If you can, try Sway by microsoft after Slides. Adds new elements for Ss to create presentations. Good alternate. Ss pick fav when given choice #oredchat
    In reply to @EdTechRanger
  • AllisonOR503 Dec 3 @ 11:49 PM EST
I've got some teachers using @Flipgrid for a variety of content. I'm also supporting 2 buddy classrooms (1st & 5th grade) utilize Google Slides for collaborative projects. #OrEdChat
    • EdTechRanger Dec 3 @ 11:40 PM EST
Q2: What are your top two technology tools that your students use that allows for transformative learning? #OrEdChat
  • EdTechRanger Dec 3 @ 11:50 PM EST
Q4: what are some innovative ways to teach better by doing less? #OrEdChat
  • SteinbrinkLaura Dec 3 @ 11:50 PM EST
A3: In Eng & Eng related subjects, I have different opportunities for creativity. Some is writing blogs using Google Sites, #BookSnaps #MyPoetrySnaps (they create their own poems), and recently, a graphic organizer mashed with #sketchnotes . https://t.co/yyNarAWTMg #OrEdChat
  • hmarrs24 - Moderator Dec 3 @ 11:50 PM EST
A3: Depends on the week...but the majority of the work they do in the classroom has the opportunity for creativity. We do #BookSnaps, we use @piccollage for math, reading, etc., we sketchnote....#OrEdChat
  • hmarrs24 - Moderator Dec 3 @ 11:52 PM EST
A4: Often times we are given a ton to do and our focus goes in too many directions. I decided to make 2 goals for myself in teaching this yr: teacher clarity and giving better feedback. It’s helped me a lot! #OrEdchat
  • LeachTeach4 Dec 3 @ 11:52 PM EST
A4: I think that's the purpose of formative assessment...see what students need more help with, and what they already get :-) #oredchat
  • MViTDiTeach Dec 3 @ 11:52 PM EST
A4: #PBL is great for this! Cross-curricular activities such as using Hyperdocs that cover SS curric & non-fiction standards #oredchat
  • AllisonOR503 Dec 3 @ 11:53 PM EST
As an admin I would love my teachers to know I support every minute that is dedicated to being creative! This may help them step outside of the box, their nostalgia and their comfort zone. #kidsdeserveit #oredchat
    • EdTechRanger Dec 3 @ 11:45 PM EST
Q3: How much time are you allowing your students to be creative each week? What are they creating? #OrEdChat
  • KathiSueSummers Dec 3 @ 11:53 PM EST
A4. I like to give Ss more time for reflection and collaboration with others. This helps me with assessment. #OrEdChat
  • howie_hua Dec 3 @ 11:53 PM EST
A4: Do "These are/These are not" w/ definitions. Ex: Triangles, draw triangles on the left of the table, other shapes on the right, have Ss create the definition of triangle. #oredchat
  • SteinbrinkLaura Dec 3 @ 11:54 PM EST
A4: Anytime you can turn the "doing" over to the Ss, it's a win. I find myself trying to create @GetKahoot reviews or other things when Ss could do it, and then I could watch their learning explode. #OrEdChat
  • KatieJMcNamara Dec 3 @ 11:54 PM EST
A4 Let students evaluate 3 similar apps then decide which to utilize to show learning. Being evaluative is high thinking order. Giving choice helps honor kiddo!! Win-Win. #oredchat
  • EdTechRanger Dec 3 @ 11:55 PM EST
Q5: How are you clearing your plate so your can do less better? #OrEdChat
  • KathiSueSummers Dec 3 @ 11:56 PM EST
A5 Weekly Priority w/ Ss. Everyone reviews personal calendars and shares with others. #OrEdChat
  • hmarrs24 - Moderator Dec 3 @ 11:56 PM EST
A5: I tend to say yes to many things that are not a priority...my goal this year is to unload some of those items in order to focus on what is important! It’s not easy, but worth it! #OrEdchat
  • MViTDiTeach Dec 3 @ 11:57 PM EST
A5: The more we allow Ss to guide their learning, the more we have less to do. Ss want to be in control of what they do, step back and act as facilitator instead of lecturer #PBL helps with this #oredchat
  • LeachTeach4 Dec 3 @ 11:57 PM EST
A5: Heather said what I was trying to type...she is faster, so I'm just copying her ;-) #oredchat
    • hmarrs24 - Moderator Dec 3 @ 11:56 PM EST
A5: I tend to say yes to many things that are not a priority...my goal this year is to unload some of those items in order to focus on what is important! It’s not easy, but worth it! #OrEdchat
  • SteinbrinkLaura Dec 3 @ 11:57 PM EST
A5: Getting my mindset wrapped around the idea that less is more in what I cover too. I don't have to cover 5 short stories, 2 novels, poetry, and 2 plays. Ss can learn with more in depth with fewer, so quality over quantity is my goal. #OrEdChat
