    A1, I just was working with a student a few weeks ago. We were celebrating growth! She was starting to be able to comprehend the things she was learning. As a future teacher, growth is very important to me, and this something I would celebrate! #1stchat

    I use the "Who Would Win" books in my writing center! I clip the book shut and they each have to write me a prediction of who would win and why. When everyone has completed that writing center we read the book together to find out! It is definitely a favorite! #1stchat

    A4: We talk a lot about these questions: does it look right? does it sound right? does it make sense? After thinking about each of those, my students are able to fix mistakes in their reading. #1stchat

    A4. When teaching my student, I found the most successful way to teach was gradual release. She read a book independently on her level. We did a lesson on the book. I showed her how, we did an example together, and then she completed the rest by herself. #1stchat
