What is your action plan to catch up students that miss important lessons/activities during school (for whatever reason)? I feel that I fall short in this area. #bfc530

#bfc530 question today... I have to always remember to balance school work. It doesnโt ever end so I have to have good boundaries so that I donโt get consumed with it and remember other priorities in my life.
The Advent season has begun (for those who celebrate, as part of their faith tradition), in preparation for Christmas...hope, peace, joy and love! #bfc530
In my building we are really invested in targeted small group instruction. We must constantly formatively assess students and figure out how to get back to them. #bfc530
The motivation comes from doing this work well...from seeing the impact one has on each student, each day. If there's a profession that can claim that level of impact, I'd like to see it. #bfc530
I create a powerpoint with all of my weekly assignments for the week that I send out. I also keep extra copies of assignments on the corner of my desk. #bfc530
#bfc530 On weekends when I was volunteering at a food drive, double checking final grades, and trying to catch up on sleep, I stay motivated by reminding myself that I have made it through busy times before, and I can do it again.
Trying new ideas & projects can help motivate me.
Also doing things I love outside of school time helps keep a balance & makes sure I'm pumped to get back to school in Mondays.

Lesson I've learned is to do whatever it takes to ensure they can master the concept/standard vs. just doing the activity. Always approach each student's growth path differently. Competency framework helps. #bfc530
Omg my first thought Is:how is it the middle of the year already ? This year is flying by! when I need motivation I think of what the 1stday was like, or previous students &their progress..reminds me Yes I can, yes they can..because We already have ! #bfc530
Mixing it up is important ... and we can get stressed out when kids are pulled from class for those "Holiday School Activities" or if they are a bit off because of the holidays. #bfc530

I also schedule time for me and my family. I do my best unplug and schedule activities on the weekends so I am present. Winter/Middle of the year is tough...lot of game nights to remember why I am here and what's important. #bfc530
