-
Great to see you on here! Long time :-p
-
A0: If I'm choosing a movie it's gotta be Hackers. I hacked my local library after I saw that movie.

Did you turn it off and on again? Haha
-
It looks like it's finding its way - I lost interest for a little bit.
-
. You have always been into the CSI-type stuff Grant. Is CM that much different?
-
Yeah, they were right out in the open.
-
A1: Ts help Ss take complicated ideas and let them bounce around in Ss heads. Then help Ss demonstrate deep understanding.
-
A1:I usually use my LMS to contain all the resources I will use as well as the starting place for all my lessons
-
A1: Recently worked with Social Studies Dept. on HyperDocs w/ Dig. Cit. it seemed to work well
-
Hi Lisa, Ed Tech Coach from Pleasanton I like Shark Tank, Proj Runway, and Top Chef- good idea shows!
-
A1: I think it is important to be predictable, but not boring. Ss love a system that is understandable. Use an LMS effectively.
-
A1: I use as a digital whiteboard and Google classroom as the "basket" on my desk for turning in work.
-
A1:
is always great,
teacher dashboard does amazing things for unpacking math info
-
Focus on creating opportunities for choice-exploration-ways for Ss to apply knowledge is key to creating truly innovative HyperDoc
-
A1: I used haiku last year but this year I've been really working with Google classroom and experimenting with hyperdocs
-
The queen of has arrived!

Hi Lisa, Ed Tech Coach from Pleasanton I like Shark Tank, Proj Runway, and Top Chef- good idea shows!
-
A1: I use classroom/docs and to package content for students.
-
Q1b: In what ways does this maximize the time with your students?
-
A1: Units and Lesson Plans in IC (newer feature) and Canvas Assignments (technically hyperdocs)
-
seems to keep improving, and only getting better with more Ts adding content.
https://t.co/6Zbya2iArc

-
A1: I use classroom/docs and to package content for students.
-
. Hi Lisa, was just googling your hyperdoc trainings before this chat started. THANKS for joining us!
-
. Right on Bennett. We love student choice.
-
-
-
A1B:It allows me to condense directions as well as allowing them to know where to always go for content.
-
A1b:
when the info is structured, and pathways somewhat open,
the T can do what he/she was meant to do: facilitate
-
A0: Shane, Assistant Director of Technology with . Techie show "Halt and Catch Fire".
-
A1b: Maximize time by being purposeful. Everything is on purpose. If you don't know the purpose & they don't, then stop it.
-
A1b: it eliminates Ss having to search through multiple papers and Ss know where to look if they need to make up an assignment
-
I couldnt resist a good chat about learning!
-
You have to know where your heading and where you want to go, absolutely https://t.co/H5F5ftOa5b
-
-
A1b: Maximize time by being purposeful. Everything is on purpose. If you don't know the purpose & they don't, then stop it.
-
A1b: more time working one on one within the constraints of a period. Eliminating the "come see me at lunch/after school"
-
well said,
information and learning doesn't have to be linear. Ss can make connections in ways we don't anticipate.
-
A1b: I helped the Ts while Ss on the , found it allowed more time with individual Ss
-
I agree- Im always thinking what is stealing my time in the clssrm and how can I recreate for more effective learning
-
A1b: Storing and accessing resources in a digital environment can be done in and out of the classroom. 24-7 learning.
-
-
As well across all learning modalities and styles for students
-
Q2: How do your students share their ideas/work?
-
-
A2: in classroom, on Padlet, sometimes paper,....
-
A0: late to join. Allegra Benson I teach Read 180 & System 44 Tech Coach for WES show the Vikings
-
welcome! Glad you could join.
-
Giving kids options for demonstrating their learning will lead to deeper learning. More than paper/pencil let the Ss create.
-
A2: Students should have some level of choice in how they demonstrate understanding. Ask your students. Let them surprise you.
-
A2:Students partake in shared google docs, discussions in haiku and utilization of AVID activities and skills in class.
-
Ts are getting better at navigating too, good to brush up on tech skills just as Ss are.
-
A1: I like for my Ss. I haven't move to a yet but plan on getting there soon!
-
A1 - New at this, but here it goes... I use Google Docs, Classroom, and Shares Folders on Drive
-
A2: Depends on the task, videos are always good, using to post into discussions https://t.co/LIQBvhQM8P
-
-
Q2: How do your students share their ideas/work?
-
A1: I'm a fan of students creating their own LMS pages via WikiProjects in
-
A2:Ss share in person in class & they post to shared discussion topics in Haiku & occasionally publish on websites for projects
-
-
A2: Limited. This is where we need work. Sometimes we forget the C in WICOR since the model of a turn in basket is so comfortable.
-
A2) I've found blogging to be a powerful way of sharing! checking in late! :)
-
Awesome to have you!
It's a quick chat but a good one -
preview ?s here:
-
Tonight's chat is perfect for me (:
-
-
I never knew how much of an impact that had, until I saw some samples from class
-
Yes! We are in the information age! And besides a little productive struggle is good for all https://t.co/9G8nB6QHYu
-
-
Ts are getting better at navigating too, good to brush up on tech skills just as Ss are.
-
A2: Ss share through Google forms and google docs as well as discussions and submitting hard copies of posters they make
-
Q2b: Who do your students share their work with?
-
A2:Collecting links to published work, then sharing the spreadsheet of proj so all can view-saves enormous amount of time
-
Hi all! Didn't realize how late it was. Glad to see everyone here on this Monday that wants to be atleast a Wednesday ;)
-
A2: again is a safe and great way for my Ss to share. Videos, pics, annotation along with comments packaged together
-
-
A2- I love when Ss share by talking with me - that one in one attention is pretty cool
-
this is a really popular app in our district this year!
-
A2B:Students share their work with me and I post on school social media pages . As well as the Skool Live Kiosk
-
reminds me of a assignment vs. recipe discussion.
-
A2b: My goal is that students are sharing their work with the world but it starts with their peers and family.
-
a2 Ss type in a shortened url, make copy, we have Gclassroom and haiku, but I'm not connected to either so this works for me
-
A2- I'm lucky 2 work in independent study, an unplanned but amazing experience, so google docs & 1-1 conversations let Ss be heard
-
Im sure your Ss love that the most! Connections are key to a lot of their successes
-
A2b: Ss share their work with me as well as each other. I also love decorating my room with their work
-
a2b Right now, Ss share w/me, their partners, and Ps, we're trying 20% project too, which will be for community
-
A2: at first just me, but now they are sharing with each other....even with other in different periods. Student come in talking ..
-
-
You sure do know how to make an entrance
-
Q3: How do you personalize instruction for your students?
-
and students have such a great sense of pride when their work is published and viewed by others! More meaningful!
-
also packaging is good for PD, just gave first PD it went well
-
A2 - My SS share ideas same way my 11 yr old does - sharing videos, social media, and text links. Tech as ed tool is everywhere
-
Awesome! Love 20% projects! Kids do too! https://t.co/IMbJ8y61yg
-
-
a2b Right now, Ss share w/me, their partners, and Ps, we're trying 20% project too, which will be for community
-
A2b It depends on what is being shared- I try to promote the cool things they do so they can see I saw their effort
-
A3: students choose their learning targets and work towards their goals.
-
a3 I've literally been eating dinner w/friends, pulled out device, and showed Ss working, gave feedback, Ss corrected learning
-
-
A3:
Getting the user to create.
Build your own or other personal representation of content learned
-
A3 Equity for Ss tells us to give them what they need to be successful and it's not one size fits all.
-
A2b: mostly their teachers, "hosting" (in a very loose term) and sharing has been limited in implementation.
-
A3: By being flexible and treating each S as an individual, like the Phil Jackson approach.
-
Yeah, I was surprised, a couple were resistant, but seem engaged by it now, move forward slowly
-
A2b) students love to share with each other, their teacher and with the general public. Makes the experience more meaningful
-
Love to hear your stories about it, it's my first attempt
-
A3: You can personalize instruction by making sure you take into account how culturally and linguistically diverse your class is.
-
I love this, in what ways does this look like for your Ss?
-
A3: I can use Seesaw to send personalized learning videos to my Ss.
-
A2- I have a few colleagues that R gr8 at displaying student work even in our different setting- it's cool 2 see people ck it out
-
Ss (and anyone) seem to always push to a higher standard when the audience is more than just the T.
https://t.co/p8wP37jEDA
-
-
A2b) students love to share with each other, their teacher and with the general public. Makes the experience more meaningful
-
A3: Still new to but appreciate student choice in one location - Show What You Know Bingo
-
A3: I try to make opportunities for all students to connect and make experiences to content. I mix up activities and assignments
-
Well sir, I learned from the best, so thank you on both accounts (:
-
Q3b: What strategy or tool has assisted in personalizing instruction?
-
I'm thinking blogs,
or portfolios that get published for al to see.
-
Yes, absolutely, I learned that. What structures did you put in place as a T for Ss?
-
-
A3: I change up my lesson to fit each period's personality as well as build in accommodations for all learning styles
-
Speak more to this, love to hear some of your ideas
-
A3-I get to differentiate all the assignments for my Ss as needed. We work 1-1 with them & have the ability to focus individually
-
Started out by letting them research different topics related to math. Some chose astronomy and rocket engineering.
-
-
A3: I ask students to teach me something any way they prefer. This works well for research assignments too.
-
-
A3) understand their learning needs (learning modalities, struggles etc.) conference with individual S's f2f & online...
-
Ahh interesting, so it was a little more content specific? Then what?
-
A3- I also try 2 find ways 2incorporate several subjects so their strengths improve and needs get more attention w/no content loss
-
or videos
Math class, Ss record work, do formative learning via comments. has done this.
-
Yes! absolutely! It's about putting your name to something others will see, forces more quality
-
A3B: GAFE has allowed me to create multiple types of assesments for all of my students. The interactive part of them
-
A3b: I agree w/ , relationships are key to personalizing, have to know the Ss likes & interests
-
Any final thoughts on HyperDocs and other forms of Personalized Learning for ?
-
A3b: I get to know my students and remain transparent to them. They usually tell me what they need from me to learn.
-
I bet she's done some amazing things. I'm working on weekly Ss podcast idea from
-
has been a great addition for connecting Ss+Ts+home And so easy to use!
-
FT: Let them get in there and create their own experience with your content. They will be better Ss with this
-
A3b: Khan Academy was great last summer when I was trying to fill some gaps in my math knowledge.
-
I enjoyed lurking tonight! Thanks all!
-
FT: Can better support packaging information, sharing work and personalizing instruction?
-
FT:
well structured learning takes prep, learning takes time, Ts role should focus on the personal side, the relationships.
-
Yes! Give Ss a chance to share their voice.
-
Students would choose different ways to share their findings. I would also have weekly check-ins on progress
-
Personalize instruction with a standards-based grading system that values mastery of a skill rather than grubbing for points
-
You make it happen, it's pretty cool.
