We're starting to get S desks that have separate chairs. It has helped with the mobility in the classroom quite a bit.

Change setting- rearrange furniture a day prior-take snaps & compare wht suits better.. go out-terrace, garden...

Monitor also means take action when appropriate. Monitor and adjust is part of the process.
Rows are fine if you are watching a movie or some kind of performance.
Rows may mean, "This classroom is too small for the amount of students I have and this is the best I can do".

Rows are generally about meeting the needs of the Ts; not the Ss. We need to make schools more about kids & less about adults!

Another issue - arranging the room so there isn't a "front." Focus should be wherever the learning/engagement is happening.
Insofar as classroom management is concerned, I prefer circular seating plans if possible rather than the traditional rows.

Rows are only bad when they're inflexible and used to isolate. Set the room up as you see fit, for your students.

Ts need to write out their philosophy for seating. Seating Plan and Seating Chart are NOT the same.
If each S is different then each class is different. Setup should reflect that. That includes desks in row or not.
