  • BenGarciaSOPTV Dec 10 @ 11:38 PM EST
Being here in the #oredchat is a good way to come out of isolation. I'm coming out of a long hibernation myself. I felt isolated on social media until recently--thanks @tishrich for helping me to be more Twitter savvy!

  • brynmw Dec 10 @ 11:42 PM EST
A2: TBH, I’m learning from my pln. I make mistakes and grow and improve from them. #oredchat
  • EdTechRanger Dec 10 @ 11:43 PM EST
The only way educators can come out of isolation is for connected educators to reach out and include them. I am better connected with my twitter PLN than with my locals. we are all busy. Sunday night is a great time to connect! #oredchat
  • tishrich Dec 10 @ 11:43 PM EST
A2: Reflecting through blog writing has been powerful for me! Read my latest blog about it here! https://t.co/smeFevXPKt #oredchat
  • kthomas4808 Dec 10 @ 11:43 PM EST
A2 I find when I’m laughing at myself in front of my kids, it’s because there is something I obviously need to learn. I usually let them in on it. 😊. Also, a lot of reflection. #oredchat

  • SteinbrinkLaura Dec 10 @ 11:44 PM EST
A2: Late but here! I reflect through my blog, by reading blogs from other EDUs, #EduSnaps and by reviewing lessons/activities with Ss. #OrEdChat

    In reply to @LannySaretsky, @Seesaw
  • EdTechRanger Dec 10 @ 11:47 PM EST
A2: I reflect often throughout the day. Usually, it goes something like this..."Well, that didn't work." Keep FAILing forward! #oredchat
  • KathiSueSummers Dec 10 @ 11:47 PM EST
A3 Twitter #Educhats, F2F time with other educators, committees, Google Hangout Face time with administrators/teachers. #OrEdChat
  • howie_hua Dec 10 @ 11:47 PM EST
A3: Because I teach future Ts, I love sharing what I've learned with them in hopes that they use it for their future classrooms. #oredchat
  • BenGarciaSOPTV Dec 10 @ 11:47 PM EST
A2. I'm learning that I was for the longest time resistant to social media cuz of the overwhelming amount of Ed related ideas out there. Now, I'm just trying to get out the finer details of these tools & share them w/ other educators. Easier to do it for others than me #oredchat
    In reply to @kinderkfoley
  • kinderkfoley Dec 10 @ 11:47 PM EST
A3: I am willing to share anything, anytime. I am happy to help others. #oredchat
  • SteinbrinkLaura Dec 10 @ 11:48 PM EST

  • hmarrs24 - Moderator Dec 10 @ 11:48 PM EST
A3: I share a lot here on Twitter, I am a @Seesaw ambassador and I do panels sometimes and moderate our grade level FB page, I am also in charge of the tech PD in our district, and I just started an iLunch at my school once a week. #OrEdchat
  • tishrich Dec 10 @ 11:48 PM EST

  • BenGarciaSOPTV Dec 10 @ 11:48 PM EST

    In reply to @EdTechRanger
  • LannySaretsky Dec 10 @ 11:49 PM EST
A3 I always like sharing with colleagues whether that's thru a quick email or in person. A lot of my sharing has been ideas I've gotten from Twitter, etc. When staff asks where I got an idea from I usually say 'Twitter PLN' #oredchat
  • EdTechRanger Dec 10 @ 11:49 PM EST

Q4: Is your school/district on Twitter? Are many of your colleagues? What is the benefit of tweeting daily? #oredchat
  • kthomas4808 Dec 10 @ 11:50 PM EST
A3 I am sharing about our classroom on twitter and some colleagues and I share almost daily about what we are learning from our kids and with our kids. Maybe blogging is in my future. #oredchat
  • kinderkfoley Dec 10 @ 11:52 PM EST
A4: Only a handful from my district are on Tw. I keep trying to sing the benefits...I think a tweet a day could help us be more connected. #oredchat
  • howie_hua Dec 10 @ 11:52 PM EST
A4: Hardly. :( I only know of...4 educators at Fresno State w/ a Twitter but we can grow so much more if more educators shared what's working and what's not. #oredchat
  • ManionJulie - Moderator Dec 10 @ 11:52 PM EST
    A4. I think I'm the only O'Neil my little school who tweets.#oredchat
  • SteinbrinkLaura Dec 10 @ 11:53 PM EST
A4: My district is on Twitter, which I am in charge of as district comm dir. Not a big community following on Twitter-mostly sports related. I started an Instagram acct for the district this year, but majority of community is on Facebook. I manage all 3.Share the good! #OrEdChat
  • hmarrs24 - Moderator Dec 10 @ 11:53 PM EST
A4: My district technically is but can't seem to decide on a hashtag...I use #D9Eagles, my school isn't...yet! #EREOwls and only two of my colleagues....so far! @TheMrMerk @LSaling1 It is incredibly beneficial in building a PLN! #OrEdChat
  • BenGarciaSOPTV Dec 10 @ 11:53 PM EST
through my FB page (https://t.co/7FD3Xdi0tw) by I think I might start sharing more on Twitter! #oredchat
    In reply to @kinderkfoley
  • KathiSueSummers Dec 10 @ 11:53 PM EST
A4: I don't have a home district, but many I work with do. Lots of my colleagues are on twitter and I have helped others become twitter junkies. Up2date learning for me. #OrEdChat
  • LeachTeach4 Dec 10 @ 11:53 PM EST
A4: Yes, our district is on twitter and several colleagues are too. I often forget to tweet because I'm in the throes of learning...I want to get better at tweeting about what's happening in my room and at my school. :-) #oredchat
  • LannySaretsky Dec 10 @ 11:53 PM EST
A4 My school is more Facebook (it's been a great way to connect home and school) as most Ps are on that compared to Twitter. I like Twitter for connecting with Ts and other classrooms globally #oredchat
  • tishrich Dec 10 @ 11:53 PM EST
A4: We have a school hashtag as well as small school hashtags. Some use often, still trying to get the snowball rollin'. Love this @gcouros quote. A fav that I use all the time! #oredchat #innovatorsmindset
  • kthomas4808 Dec 10 @ 11:54 PM EST
A4. Our school is on twitter. We are a large school and I believe about 10 teachers and a few people in administration use twitter. #oredchat
  • EdTechRanger Dec 10 @ 11:55 PM EST
A4: I love that my school @WMSofBCSD, District #TeamBCSD and many of my colleagues are on Twitter. It's a great way to see all the great learning going on in our district. A daily Tweet may help to encourage someone in your PLN!#oredchat
  • kinderkfoley Dec 10 @ 11:55 PM EST
Isn't it surprising how long we have benefited from Twitter but how slow it is to get others to join? #oredchat
  • hmarrs24 - Moderator Dec 10 @ 11:55 PM EST
I look at Twitter as microblogging. You can't be part of a PLN without being reflective, learning, sharing, leading, and making local and global connections. Why wouldn't districts be on Twitter?? #OrEdChat
  • KathiSueSummers Dec 10 @ 11:56 PM EST
@BenGarciaSOPTV You have great support in @tishrich #OrEdChat
  • kinderkfoley Dec 10 @ 11:56 PM EST
Q5: Do you meet with colleagues at other schools in your district? What would be the benefits of being connected with them online? #oredchat
  • SteinbrinkLaura Dec 10 @ 11:56 PM EST
A4b: There are a handful of Ts in my district on Twitter. They aren't very active educationally, for the most part. I need to do a Twitter PD! #OrEdChat
  • kthomas4808 Dec 10 @ 11:56 PM EST
A4. Super cool side note. A teacher I taught with in another state 27 years ago is now the superintendent there. We are now connected because of twitter. @ldoering3 💙. #oredchat
  • KathiSueSummers Dec 10 @ 11:57 PM EST
You have always been one of my greatest supporters. And I love you for that. #OrEdChat
    In reply to @tishrich, @BenGarciaSOPTV
  • hmarrs24 - Moderator Dec 10 @ 11:57 PM EST
A5: As a district wide technology teacher leader, I do meet with colleagues at other schools. It would be fantastic as it would save us time, we could be more consistent, and it wouldn't take time away from my classroom. #OrEdChat
  • BenGarciaSOPTV Dec 10 @ 11:58 PM EST
A4: I just saw @MSD549C on Twitter yesterday, and I'm not sure about #Phoenix-Talent Schools or #Central Point Schools? I'm finding that not many #SouthernOregonTeachers are on Twitter, but maybe it's because I'm not well connected yet? I don't Tweet daily, should I? #oredchat
    In reply to @kinderkfoley, @MSD549C
  • tishrich Dec 10 @ 11:58 PM EST
A5: Love my local peeps that meet here and at #coffeeEDU each week and whenever we get a chance! @hmarrs24 @LeachTeach4 @BenGarciaSOPTV @KathiSueSummers #oredchat
  • kinderkfoley Dec 10 @ 11:58 PM EST
Time has flown #oredchat ! Maybe I need less questions? So much more to share :)
  • kthomas4808 Dec 10 @ 11:59 PM EST
A5. Another reason I love twitter is because I’ve connected with some fabulous colleagues at other schools who are on the island. Hoping to do some school visits with them soon. ✨ #oredchat
  • SteinbrinkLaura Dec 10 @ 11:59 PM EST
A5: All buildings of my district are on the same campus, so we can connect face to face frequently. I do connect with some elem Ts, & I connect with my building and MS more frequently. We connect on Voxer too. #OrEdChat
  • LeachTeach4 Dec 10 @ 11:59 PM EST
A5: Yes, our CoffeeEdu connects folks from our district and beyond. :-) #oredchat
  • LannySaretsky Dec 10 @ 11:59 PM EST
A5 We have a few district wide collaboration days during the year. It's easy to connect with Ts in other schools thru email or Google #oredchat
  • LeachTeach4 Dec 10 @ 11:59 PM EST
    Local folks, remember that we're continuing the conversation tomorrow at Mellelo's behind the old Costco at 4:30pm. See you there & bring a friend! :-) #oredchat @tishrich @hmarrs24 @KathiSueSummers @upfrontteacher @LostHiRoller @NMHSBarber @ProfeSabia
  • KathiSueSummers Dec 10 @ 11:59 PM EST
This is the same that I battle with each time I moderate. So much to discuss. Great job tonight. #OrEdChat
