    I do think that any educator who participates in edchats, book studies, classes for the sake of learning, not just recert. are empowered learners and are exactly what today's classrooms need. That's why I enjoy these so much-the like minded professionals. #1stchat

    Yes! This is a goal I have planned for next year - improve differentiation with more choices for different learners. Kids learn the way that's best for them. Not a cookie-cutter classroom. #1stchat

    #1stchat #gen2108 I believe taking virtual tours of global communities and international pen pals as well as designing art projects and sharing personal stories through blogs while not sharing too much, (safety first) are great ways to use devices to enhance in class learning

    A3- I think it starts with your image of the child & shifting your focus to not just 'this year' but the child as a learner- how will this child succeed in every subsequent year? What strategies will help in the long term? What will ignite the spark and keep it lit? #1stchat

      A6 I’m still growing in this area which I guess in essence shows I’m empowered- I have an easy time encouraging others toward growth mindset but I’m definitely learning to embrace it for myself! I now feel empowered To take risks and not get down if I flop at first #1stchat

      I love that you mentioned that. I also have the same freedom in my school and I'm so grateful. A great thing about Quebec is its unique 'cycle' system where students are given 2 years to meet most curricular expectations- lots of wiggle room for Ts and Ss #1stchat
