A1: I want my kids to collaborate so they can learn to mesh together disparate ideas and perspectives and create new knowledge. Collaboration is as much a social skill as it is a cognitive one #createedu
A1 We need to teach Ss that each has a story and can be empowering to make change when we respectfully tell our stories to one another. We can grow from this process. #CreateEdu
A1: because the ability to express an idea with purpose (for an authentic audience) can impact our world. Learners need to practice this daily.
#CreateEDU
A1: Collaboration is the mixing and remixing of our individual selves. We need to understand ourselves and how we fit into communities for the most effective learning. We model this for students and they model this for us. #CreateEdu
A1: without dialogue and collaboration - learning only goes so deep. Self-expression enables student agency if they feel like they own it...

A1 All communication is a form of self-expression, Ss need to practice it to become any good. Only thru self-expression can we fully realize ourselves and become capable of dialogue & collaboration #createEdu
A2: People say Iām a dreamer (at least @smgaillard feels this way), but why canāt self-expression and dialogue could be better incorporated and facilitated continually within learning environments and out of school communication and collaboration? #CreateEdu
A2: I remember as a student that our school had an in-house radio station. Mornings were always a time when we could show our love for particular types of music... Which gives me an idea... Think I'll get my morning classes to start making Spotify playlists! #createedu
A2 Self-expression and dialogue are pivotal in growing self-awareness, agency, and self advocacy, big qualities in resolving conflict, cooperation, and fundamental to learning #createEdu
A2: all the time. Why are they there together? Expressing ideas should be foundational. In my work world - rarely does half an hour go by without some collaborative moment - could be small or big. That should be structural and deliberate in Schools

A2 read aloud... Letting Ss discuss similarities & differences they see within the reading & their own lives. Also certain units in math have easy entry points, ie geometry could discuss local architecture or that of a famous building from somewhere special to the S #CreateEdu
A2: Heard or read this somewhere, āWhoever is doing the most talking, is doing the most learning!ā Let them talk all day! Tip: It will save your voice! š #CreateEdu
A3 - @rmstrojans use a lot of iMovie, Google Slides, and are starting to use Explain Everything to springboard their creativity and self-expression. #CreateEdu
A3: student video creation! Those who know me on Twitter will know I am a bit obsessed with this!
Also music. Stories. Drama. Screen recording. Google earth. App smashing.

A2: To follow up. Iād say let them start podcasts, vlogs, create campus news network, self-produce music videos, film documentaries! Just some ideas. #CreateEdu
A3 Any tools available, practices are more important. Generally involve word and image with introductions to choice. Most common options lately involve mobile phones #createEdu
A3 circles for whole group discussion to ensure everyone knows they have a valued choice. Also, other activities where Ss talk in groups/partners. And, I continually think how content relates to them so they can share out. #CreateEdu
