Thank you, John. Off to look at some barefoot resources. After, of course, 😃
Need help? Tweet or . Don't forget to use the hashtag at the end of your tweets.
Evening, Simon. I am Jonathan from Worcester. Been actively tweeting for about 18 months. ‘Sounds like an addiction!’
Mark from Bristol, been tweeting for about a year, although was quiet for a lot of it - been a hectic year...
Loving the dedication Jonathan :)
Q1: Chats come in different formats. What are they and how do they differ? Please share some examples. https://t.co/GU7V12rfTO
Joining two chats in a row probably counts for addiction :D
Is it dedication or procrastination? I am in the midst of reports.
It's that time of year again!
Hi everyone. Sian from Cardiff looking forward to learning about twitter chats.
Hi Mark, so glad you could join us!
Noswaith dda Sian :) So glad you could join us!
I'm taking advantage of the relative calm that study leave brings...
A1 chats to discuss specific topics ( like this) ... To share ideas in the open forum
A1 Many of the chats I've been involved with are fairly unstructured, the purpose is to have a lot of ppl online at the same time
Theirs plenty out there for whatever stage of your career you are in eg NQT MLT SLT ect
A1) There are the normal chats WHO are 1x a week and WHERE YOU have to answer in 1 hour & WHERE YOU have 1 week 2 answer
And trying to think of different ways to get Y11 revising
A2 I am sure there must be many other types but I have only used it for work asechat. Sltchat etc
Looks like one of Graham's :D
I like the format. Most easy to join in at your own convenience. Yet, the rush of hour chats is great!

A1. Yes, there are also . Slowchats e.g & can last 1 day or whole week!
Who completed the last chat’s homework? I made my list. 😃
So do I, depending on my time availability ;)
Agree! every Sunday is great example!
A2. Use tweet deck! As shown in the last chat 2 weeks ago!
A1: chats are a convenient way to get people together talking about the same thing - usually over 1hr - linked by a hashtag, eg >>
Thanks for joining us tonight David :)
So glad you could join us Gust!
A2 I have to look before the chat starts and the either save the image or take a screen shot to refer back to it.
A2: Storifys are a great way 2 catch the 'highlights' but just pursue the conversion that interests you - you can't read every tweet
Totally agree! allow you to compose your thoughts and take at your own pace!
To find the question I scroll up & down furiously on my iPad usually, hoping the question has been posted within the chat!
I have a list of all those that handed in their homework :D Yours was handed in JUST in time ;)
😃 I know it was almost late, sorry Sir!
Easiest way to find questions is to do a search for question followed by hashtag e.g. Search 'Q1 ' etc.
Yes, that is me sometimes too! Always happy when it has been retweeted a few times.
Thanks for sharing! I will definitely check this one out!
Thanks for the tip. Will be using this. 👍🏻
Q3: During chats many resources & information are shared but may get lost in the stream. What can you do? https://t.co/VL2iXqXoOP
Ah, lightbulb goes on! 💡https://t.co/ILRQPmAiRF That makes sense!

Hi ! Sorry I'm late! Heading back home from Dublin! It's lovely and warm for a change!
Probably still tonight, I will send You the link ;)
A3 I save useful images / infographics on my iPad or look up storify later
Yes, I use the like button and go back later, sometimes a lot later! Yet, worth it.
You can also use to save and organise your favourite resources found on Twitter!
You know it makes sense ;)
Not got into Pinterest. Is it really a good resource?
So glad you could join us Paul!
I didn't know this. Will look into it. Thanks from a life long learner 🙂 https://t.co/0dr0PjdTqi

It's like a giant searchable pin board. Great for organising & finding online resources!
no worries. Just thought I would drop by!
A4) Newcomers: DO it as I did ALSO; be a lurker and watch different to GET the about and later ask questions
A4 Lurking is fine. Throw in the comment when you feel the urge. Don’t forget the hashtag. So others can read your tweet.
Great advice! https://t.co/TF9zOC8TGc

A4 Don't worry about tweeting if you don't want to, it's fine just to follow a chat. You could like tweets & retweet maybe
a3 during chats for fast communication. After is also fine for chats. Random tweets, whenever you like.
Totally agree! https://t.co/bkVJtbWEdX

A3 favourite the tweets, copy the links out elsewhere. I use favourite as my short term bookmarking of resources
YES, it's called tweeting into the stream; EVEN days after the Chat some people will have a look ALSO ;)
a4 throw yourself in at the deep end and don't worry about getting lost.
I regularly do that. I am forever getting caught in time difference issues and join later.
Q5: What should you do if someone expresses themselves in a very negative or rude manner during a chat? https://t.co/5d7pjsSQ9Z
Especially as tweeps on edu twitter chats are generally non-judgmental!
Hi Angels, so glad you could join us!
I ALSO post each day some of my to WHICH I it could be of interest 2 THEM!
everyone is always very friendly. Similar mindset attracts I guess.
A5 The simple answer is ignore and rise above it. Don’t take the ‘bait’. Block them if you need to. You can also report.
A5 if it's a negative view then you have to accept that not everyone is going to have the same viewpoint / outlook
that's cool. I do that with articles and interesting things I find.
you can't tell the tone of a tweet very well, sometimes it may read as rude but often it isn't meant to be!
So glad you could join us Tim :)
Yes, sometimes are preaching to the converted. Similar mindsets, as you said. Need to encourage ‘Newbies’.
A5 if it is rude you can ignore it .. If it is offensive to a race / religion / culture you can report it
Yes, it's good to have people in your PLN with different views - helps avoid the echo chamber effect!
A5) FIRST I would ask: Is THAT really YOU, everything OK!???? IF YOU made a mistake, please delete the tweet, thx ;)
Depends if to you personally or more about the topic but avoid any impulse to respond immediately https://t.co/6ch0L5RkcT
Q5: What should you do if someone expresses themselves in a very negative or rude manner during a chat? https://t.co/5d7pjsSQ9Z
Yes, especially with only 140 chars, sometimes messages can be mis-read/understood!
Hello I'm too late, sorry. It's a little bit of too much work during the last 3 weeks off this school year.
A6) A "Side Chat"? Looks like I hopefully will something NEW tonight ;)
With you there! Whenever I try a I lose the general chat. Looking for tips. https://t.co/9UbnWaCkI6
A6) A "Side Chat"? Looks like I hopefully will something NEW tonight ;)
A6. Side chats are when you and another person(s) get involved in discussion that branches off the regular chat.
A6. Side chats give you an opportunity to explore a conversation in more depth.
A6) A is THAT WHEN YOU follow two on the same time?
Side chats are when you and another person(s) get involved in discussion that branches off the regular chat.
A6 is a side chat when two or more people exchnage tweets whilst the main chat continues? So a chat within a chat?
Just seen that the chat is nearly over! Perhaps next time!
Exactly! https://t.co/BkeDK5Vpxj
