They don’t care if you vote. They care that you will vote against them! Their attack on #txed schools & schoolteachers is about to end. They don’t like it, want to use the public authority—which they despise in the first place—to stop it. Desperate, cynical, ridiculous & wrong.

A1: Wishlist would be some iPads that stay in the room, and some bots for all of our grade levels. Currently LOVING Promethean boards and @ClassFlow#TXed
The 1-1 Chronebooks in elementary school are amazing. Virtual reality headsets would be cool for experiencing topics in history classes. #brenhamisdtech#TXed
A1: I’vebegun using an iPad Pro with pencil for all note taking. I have digital notebooks for all the teachers I support and all meetings. If i return to the classroom, this would be my must have. No more lost notes and evidence! #txed
#txed A1 2 summers ago I purchased a @surface tablet and a wireless dispay adapter. IT IS AWESOME! Giving the tablet to a St sitting at their desk and have them do a problem together with the class. ITS HUGE! Dream = surface tablets for ALL my Ss.
I need a good reference to find the apps for this. I love having a few (stocked up as a reward) but I struggle with finding engaging apps. At a training I saw some awesome ones but didn't think to write down the location of the app/program 🙁 #txed

#txed A2 Use tech to give your teaching #MorePower I try to combine my #creation lessons with a mix of paper and coloring and digital products. Balance is the key.
A2: I ALWAYS try to incorporate it into my lesson to save paper and engage my students! I have noticed 99% of the time my students are more engaged when I use technology! #txed
A2- I always use tech in some way. A checklist for stations on Google Classroom. A song video to intro/review a topic. Dojo singing and pinging over the big speaker. Always!! #TXed
A2 I decide what skill I want my ss to have then if tech is the best way to teach it I include it
Constantly ask myself - will this make the lesson better? How? #txed
A2: Use tech if it takes the learnering get farther, saves time, gets students thinking at higher levels. If tech helps Ss learn better, deeper, more THATs a reason to use it #txed
#txed A2 - Tech should never drive the bus. Your lessons and classroom are an extension of you. Don't settle. You always want the kids to push themselves. Do the same.

A2 The technology must make the lesson better, increase student involvement or increase learning. The decision must be based on what is best for the students and never just to use technology. #txed
“Texas: State Rankings Powerhouse…five first-place results in Best Business Climate, Best Infrastructure, Installed Wind Power Capacity Leaders, Wind Power Installations (2016) and Exports Leaders.”
https://t.co/ymbnyr9lB3
A2: You have to ask yourself what purpose will it serve. How can/will it enhance your lesson and/or extend student learning. Must be relevant and purposeful #TXed
A2: I love how technology provides better opportunity to get immediate feedback on student learning. You can tailor your lesson length, pull a small group immediately, or go deeper. It also prepares students for inquiry-based and independent learning strategies. #txed
A3: I always have a student who is unsure of how to use the tool we are using! My classroom runs on LOTS of peer support! They are helping each other and problems solving together which in turn is building stronger relationships amongst our classroom! #txed
#txed A3 Less and less that this is occuring, but a ROBUST connection to the interent is a MUST when Ss are working. If the network goes down much of the technology is useless. ALWAYS be prepared to continue a lesson the "old fashioned" way.
A3: Teaching in power outages, internet failures, and tech crashes are all realities when teaching with tech. You must know the instructional intent well enough to teach just as well when the tech doesn’t work as you can with it. Always have plan B! #txed
A3: Again, you have to use best practices, because it is inevitable that something won’t work. You have to have a back up plan in that case. Be sure your lesson can work with or without tech. #TxEd
A3: slow Internets, accidentally deleting. When I travel around the room, I always make note of what everyone has done. If the accidentally deleting happens and I know what was already done, I always say start where you left off. #txed
A3: Plan with tech for it not to work. Make sure it's not an all-or-nothing thing. Have a back-up plan for if it doesn't work. Be ready to carry on while someone tries to get it up and running. Flexibility is key! #txed
A2- Will it enhance, extend or reach a different type of learner? Does it push my Ss to grow as learners? Will it allow my Ss to express themselves through a more effective avenue? If I can answer yes to these ?, then technology is a good option for an activity #TXed

Super pumped for this month’s #KatyISDchat AND for the guest moderator! Stay tuned for more info and TELL ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS!! It’s going down 2/15/18! #KatyISDchat#txed#CSISDchat
A3: Reach out to your Instructional Technology Specialist if you have one! They are an essential piece in helping our students and staff grow in @BrenhamISD. We learn so much from them throughout the year!
@Tommyspall@BrantonTech@tskuhn#txed
A4: Misconception - Technology automatically makes a lesson more engaging.
Technology based drill and kill is still just drill. Engage minds rather than create compliance through tech. #txed
A3- Internet, internet, internet...always have a back up plan! Build in extra time, especially when working with new apps or sites & always remember plenty of patience. Practice makes perfect! #TXed
#txed A4 Technology CAN NOT role model HUMAN behavior. It CAN NOT teach relationship skills. Trs ARE NEEDED for this. Technology is a TOOL, not a replacement for a Tr.
A4: YouTube is not using Tech. Don’t get me wrong, I looove YouTube, but it doesn’t count as using technology. If it isn’t student driven and manipulated then it’s just something your using as a part of your lesson. #TxEd
#txed A5 There is a HUGE difference between creation and consumption, just look at Blooms Taxonomy. CREATION is the key with technology. A created project shows mastery of the learning objective. That moment when Ss use your selfies in their projects!
This isn’t a question, but if you haven’t ever tried @Lyrics2learn, my kids are loving it. They have learned about Grot, Perseverance, MLK, Jr. all through rap and reading. They looooooove it! #TXed
A5: Consuming is watching. A student is creating when they use technology to explain their learning, or use various ways to show what they have learned. #TxEd
A4- That Ss can figure out any technology you put in their hands bc they’re labeled “Digital Natives”. Ss have to be explicitly taught the basics of technology, like how to correctly log out, type, use search engines, etc. All grade level Ss are capable with guidance #TXed
A5: Google has made it so easy for students to have the opportunity to create work...So many real world applications and extension tools to choose from!
#TXed
I wonder how all the Texas teacher advocates #blowingthewhistle feel about the fact that ET believes teachers SHOULD get paid so much less... bc they work so much less. 🙄#ETgohome#TxEd#TxLege
#txed A6 @pwagnerlcisd I make a motion where there are select Lamar CISD tech savy Trs picked in a lottery so they can attend TCEA. Looks like an amazing event.

A5-NO technology can be used as a substitute for a phenomenal Teacher. If a Tt delivers high quality instruction in a effective manner, Ss should be able to apply what they’ve learned utilizing technology, which will make it more meaningful to them #TXed
Hey @EmpowerTexans! I'm #blowingthewhistle on my husband, who called to ask me to bring his brand new coat to school. I asked him if he was cold. No, he said, I need to give it to my student. He showed up to class shivering this morning because he doesn't own a coat #txed#txlege
