A2 I've been doing this to some extent for about five years now. Most kids tend to love it. A few resist strongly.

A2: mindfulness means being aware and acting appropriately regarding situations. I.e.allergies, religion, workplace, etc.

A2: Mindfulness is about awareness, being present & in the moment. So impt. for Ss & Ts-often just as difficult for adults!

Our counselor recorded a guided meditation. Or I'll have them focus on slow breaths. Tensing/relaxing muscles.

When I could tune out conversations and loud TVs, yes, it was. Also was a way for me to overcome my fear.

A4: recognize that I as their T need to move around while working and let kids do so! walk & look @ group work/study, etc

A3 Call for silence as in the six agreements is very powerful, too.

A4 Every 15-20 mins, we ALL do a brain break. Up & stretch to refresh the body & refocus the mind. It feels great!

We have many students using large balls to sit on, wiggle chairs, and some classes have flex furniture that moves around.

The time is there, we only need to cancel the useless minutes in the day to allow great moments to occur.

A4: Our 5th gr Ss jog a mile 3 days a week on top of PE & we use varied partnering to get kids moving throughout the day.
