Hello Heidi. Faige here (in and out maybe) from Los Angeles. Had a busy summer even though I am technically retired. Worked in kindercamp end of July and last week while teachers & staff were getting readying. I watched their kids. #kinderchat

I worked at a summer camp this summer and I got to meet so many unique and amazing kids! I also got to travel to Texas and see my sister two times! #Kinderchat
Last year I was in a new grade after 10? 12? years of Kindergarten- so that was all new. #kinderchat Feels really good knowing what Iām in for this year at least. Going to refine what I did last year. Been working on social studies last few years in particular.

I taught G1 for 5 years before I moved to G2. I said to my colleagues, why didn't you guys tell me this was so nice?! But I do love Kinder. #kinderchat

Ya! It takes 3-5 years to master a grade so I like being in one place a bit before moving again. #kinderchat I did 4th grade social studies the year before that- my first non homeroom type gig- that was really fun too

I got to teach my first lesson in a classroom! (Something I had always dreamed about as a kid.) I taught fractions using M&Ms and they liked it because the food gave them a treat to look forward to at the end of the lesson. #Kinderchat

My goal as a sub to support classroom teachers and share with them all I learn on Twitter. None of my school colleague spend much time on Twitter. Also Iām a great observer of children. That is I love watching and learning from them. #kinderchat

We tried project-based learning with cross-curricular standards about animal adaptations and habitats. It was awesome! This year weāre going to cover our sci/ss standards through PBL with k-1 combined. #kinderchat

I worked on doing PBL last year and really following the students lead in what they were interested in. It was amazing the things they learned and how they could connect their learning with other things. I will continue with it this year. #Kinderchat
