    In reply to @Chrisjlara24
  • DeatraLee_Edu Mar 6 @ 10:46 PM EST

  • DeatraLee_Edu Mar 6 @ 10:48 PM EST
A2b: Ss need to understand what is being asked and determine what tools to use to get started. #ieedchat
  • mathkaveli Mar 6 @ 10:48 PM EST
a2b Response a2 is the exact opposite of what i do, i need Ss to make their own connections, they need uncovering not coverage #ieedchat
  • MathButler Mar 6 @ 10:48 PM EST

Q3:Are there any rituals that you would suggest Ss partake in to better prepare for assessments?#IEedchat
  • mathkaveli Mar 6 @ 10:52 PM EST
a3 Ss should study over longer periods of time w/smaller amount of concepts, get big w/Reps, not a power work out #ieedchat
  • rguztec Mar 6 @ 10:52 PM EST
A3:I remember hearing about hydration and better Oxygen circulation, but I tell them to start studying a week before the test #IEedchat
  • AshleyMSJC5 Mar 6 @ 10:53 PM EST
A3: They should study and listen carefully to teachers' hints. So many students don't study enough these days. #IEedchat

Q3B:What kind of things do you do to prepare students for SBAC assessments? #IEedchat
  • mark_synnott Mar 6 @ 10:55 PM EST
A2b: Ss answer Qs without fully understanding what's being asked. Ss answers are a shot in the dark. Teach them to read with care. #IEedchat
  • MathButler Mar 6 @ 10:55 PM EST
ALSO: read Make It Stick. https://t.co/uOp1lw7uZY review here: https://t.co/f9FUNUZWCX Big ideas: vary practice, write ur own ?s #IEedchat

Right...I could only imagine how much more successful Ss would be at college, including myself way back in the day #ieedchat
    In reply to @rguztec
  • mark_synnott Mar 6 @ 10:55 PM EST
A3: Just the basics: get sleep, eat breakfast, think and care about your responses. You get zero points for finishing first. #IEedchat
  • rguztec Mar 6 @ 10:56 PM EST
A3B: @mark_synnott mentioned it earlier, that they need to read the Q slowly in order to answer properly. Most Ss just skim #IEedchat
    In reply to @mark_synnott
  • mark_synnott Mar 6 @ 10:57 PM EST
A3b: I tell Ss not to start a new page on the SBAC if time doesn't allow. Answers might not save. Use the extra testing time. #IEedchat
  • Chrisjlara24 Mar 6 @ 10:57 PM EST
A3b: I tell them to make sure the read the question and understand what it's asking then #IEedchat
  • rguztec Mar 6 @ 10:57 PM EST
A3B: I also add things like Art into my warm ups and have Ss tell me the meaning of the work. I use it to increase Critical T #IEedchat
