A2: I can align tech to standards fairly well, the tech I infuse can be accessed via multiple devices, and I’m creative/flexible. Plus, it’s fun! #TECHtalkGA

I'm (obvs) in Forsyth Co. I think our strengths lie in an effort to be PURPOSEFUL about our tech use. Not just b/c, but to achieve specific goals
#TECHtalkGA A3: As good as I think we are, I think we still have a lot of tech to say it's tech...we also have a lot of resistance to tech just bc it's tech. 🙄
A3. Weakness in techn is time & direction to PLAY with technology. Comfort comes w time, support, & the ability to make mistakes and try again.

A5: We're still newbies to a large degree, so we have the opportunity to place pedagogy first, train our instructional leads well and move slowly. #TECHtalkGA
A4: Our ITS district leaders send out newsletters, ED Summits, July tech meetings, and we are lucky to have so many resources w/in Classlink to explore. #techtalkga

We at least have a culture of experimentation, of exploration, and (I hope) of support.
If we can get more people on board with that, and promote those tenets, we can be in a great spot!
A4. Opportunities in techn has to involve communication with students. When everyone's onboard with looking at the same online area to get/return assignments, it will be a game-changer.

A4: I have some go-to people to bounce ideas off of, collaborate with, learn from, etc., and that is a huge plus! There's always someone who wants to try something new or experiment with me! #TECHtalkGA

A5 (for real): Not 1:1, would like to see more student creation instead of as many digital worksheets. Not enough time to collaborate with everyone. #TECHtalkGA

BUT as a district, we are held back by the fear of "what if it goes away"
I choose to ignore that future. I can't live my life by what what may or may not be, only by what IS at THIS moment.

A5: sometimes I am my own worst enemy, as I don’t always want to take the time to create activities. Being a team of 1, I don’t have the pleasure of sharing the workload

A5: I wish we had more devices! 10 chromebooks is nice, but so much of what my kids do just doesn't work on a phone. I try to beg, borrow, and steal chromebooks as much as I can, but it's hard to do longer term tech activities with just our 10 devices #TECHtalkGA
A6: Time. But I have grabbed the bull by the horns & jumped into something recently. Kids are loving it and they have helped me shape the project. They help me grow. #techtalkga
A5. Issues with techn include websites blocked, lack of access for students, lack of training of students (they are NOT digital natives). Reliable internet, available tech support are also issues.

#TECHtalkGA A5 I would say paralyzation of choice and chasing what’s latest and greatest. It’s hard to stay on top of what’s new and if things change too quickly, it can discourage teachers who are late adopters.
This is so true! It's what I see in my district, although I think there's something to be said for the variable "expected rate of change" based on your tech adoption level.
My "eye roll" speed comes at completely different time than someone who is a late adopter.
