Yesterday, I learned that one of the teachers who passed away in Florida was a HS classmate of mine. Scott Beigel, died protecting his students. I didnt know him very well but he seemed like a good guy. #bfc530
I have heroes and people I'm in awe of.
Heroes are cognizant of their power to transform lives.
I'm in awe of educators whose thinking is more enlightened than mine and I'm trying to keep up!

One year we took an entire team of students to a local park and spent the day grilling out, walking, and playing games. It was simple and fun! By far one of my favorite days. #bfc530

No long weekend here - but, we have our 27th of Feb program next Friday. Since it's our school's 20th birthday, alumni from our 1st graduation are coming - including my son. Should be a great celebration! #bfc530

My dad. He was a superintendent when he passed.. I saw how hard he worked to make a difference for the whole division. The stories I could tell #bfc530
Its weird. Its not like we were friends But I can remember a conversation we once had. I'm not 100% sure how to feel about it. Right now its mostly anger to be honest. #bfc530

I think that is an understandable emotion to have. No one should go to work any where, least of all a school, & not come home. It was a tough day for all of us I think #bfc530
Mr. Wayne Newton was my 5th grade teacher. As a man in the education field, he was not focused on discipline, but on relationships. He focused on helping young boys learn the necessary steps in becoming a respected man. He was a big reason that lead me to switch careers. #bfc530

An eduhero I never mention & I should is my Dad. Factory worker, not a teacher. Worked 2 jobs so I could have better life, showed value of hard work that I hope my students see in me #bfc530

The very first time I took my kids to the outdoor classroom we came in and three of us had ticks on us! Eeewwww but we went back, we sprayed first lol #bfc530
@MrEandre A teacher I chat with online revealed it was her HS, and she was in the room across from that Social Studies room when it happened. She is shaken up, saddened and forever changed. I can't even imagine. I've never met her, but cry for her. #bfc530
There’s also @T_Ballard_Teach who is inspiring students who have been labeled as “difficult”. She has harnessed their interests in gaming and is using @classcraftgame to get them to up their games. They are succeeding like never before. #bfc530

Mr. Morrow changed my world in 4th grade. He inspired me with his teaching style and ways of making rigorous content accessible to see that creativity and passion makes teaching an art. #bfc530

I just wish that the nation wasn’t so polarized on how to respond. Too many people have died and with no action. We may never stop all violence but why not try to stop some? I’m sorry about your classmate and all the other lives that were lost. #bfc530

Ahhhh there are so many people daily that cause me to love teaching. But, I can say without a doubt that my pals @participate made me see education in a brand new way. And that change made me fall in love with education all over again! #bfc530
