    A1: Ss say the classroom feels like home. Shiplap paper a larger wall, lamps, flexible seating, etc. They LOVE being in the classroom. That is only 1/2 of environment. Other 1/2? Ss are put in houses and truly bond with others around them creating a safe environment. #LearnLAP

    A1: It is all about the relationships. My students tell me they appreciate how relaxed I am and that I give them opportunities to do self-guided learning, but that when I do direct instruction I get excited about it which makes them excited too. #learnlap

    A2: We use the cafetorium for "field trips". A larger open space, different tables, room to move, display things, get physical. We also have "discovery areas" in each wing with tables & the ability to cook & do demonstrations. Anything outside the room is exciting! #LearnLAP

    A2: enjoy common areas for students to have flexible learning spaces. We use specific meeting areas, we call them our islands, where specific groups of students meet to work on content specific areas. They support each other as a teacher monitors& steps in when needed. #LearnLap

    A2: I remembered we had unit about the earth. My partner and I worked w/ the school gardener to find out the diff types of soil. Turns out, he actually composts fallen 🍁, & showed us how diff it looks from other soils. That experience really helped our Ss. #LearnLAP

    A7: we went on a field trip to see our drama department perform. It was a crazy funny twist on the three little pigs so I added books into my plans to tie back into that experience. So far this year that is all but we have time for more yet #learnlap

    I’m a fan of chaotic joy in my classroom. I find kids learn best by using oral talk tips to dialogue, share, disagree respectfully, & learn from each other. I love happy chatter & I’m proud of the fact that my students feel comfortable to engage in purposeful chat! #LearnLap

    A8. I try to include parents in the learning. I have had parents text in during lessons to participate in learning. Various community leaders have come to class, participated in learning activities. I try to use as many people and locations as possible. Be the change! #LearnLAP
