#leadupchat focuses on school leadership broadly, culture, changing paradigms, and the growth mindset. It's an Ed movement focused on Leadership, Culture, Growth and Shifts on Saturdays at 8:30am CST, founded by Jeff Veal (@heffrey) and Nathan Lang (@nalang1).
Good morning! Welcome to #LeadUpChat! Take a moment to introduce yourself, where you are from, and the role you serve in. We are so glad you are here, there's a seat saved for you.
Morning tribe! Jeff here, co-creator of #LeadUpChat, ready to learn and grow with you! I'm a MS admin in North Texas. I believe in strong leadership..my team @PISDReynolds pushes me forward!
Dr. Nancy Sulla at #leadupchat! It's been a while but it's the first Saturday in a couple of years that I wasn't writing a book! Creator of the Learner-Active, Technology-Infused Classroom. Author of ...
Hi there! I'm a student from Kent State University studying mild/moderate special education. Checking in from Florence, Italy today, I'm studying abroad this semester!! #leadupchat
Yes and yes. Have always believed in the importance of surrounding myself with others who strive to be excellent. We are all where we are today because we allowed others to help us. #BookcampPD
Good morning good people. 2nd cup of ☕️ in hand, the 🌞 is shining on South Carolina, the skies are blue, and I am ready for #Leadupchat! Latoya, ed leader and author (https://t.co/BodQc4FTqt) here for the party! Let’s goooooooooooo! #leadupchat
A1) Strategic disruption -- the kind that makes you a little uncomfortable and makes you think -- creates cognitive dissonance, which is a requirement of learning. It's OK to be uncomfortable!!! #leadupchat
A1: So many times we get lost in "it's always been done this way." Has it always worked the way it's always been done? No! When we keep what is best for kids in the forefront, change can be powerful! #leadupchat
A1: I think shaking things up and disrupting the status quo is liking renovating. We have to make a bit of a mess to create something better. #leadupchat
A1. Disruption is VITAL to make a change in school climate. If we keep doing everything like we always have...nothing gets better. No growth. #leadupchat
A1). Oh boy do I love doing this!!! If you do the same things all the time, there is no learning taking place! As an SRO I LOVE making my school rethink school safety!! I disrupt drills, trainings, EVERYTHING. All part of making out Ts and Ss BETTER!! #leadupchat
A1: Disrupting is change. Without change we have a difficult time growing and doing better. Doing better will make a healthy culture and team. #leadupchat
A1. Disruption doesn’t have to be a negative term. Let’s look at how @Apple@Twitter and @facebook disrupted the way we live and work. I see disruption as innovation-making something more efficient, effective, user friendly, or convenient! #leadupchat
Too often we see disruption as something only for products, companies, markets…when in fact, disruption is a mindset. It begins internally, in regards to our mental models and our cognitive assumptions of what is and what could be. #leadupchat
No school ever became successful because of spending hours talking about dress codes or the like.
What you monitor, what you put investment in becomes what you are great at.
No kids future was shaped by their school dress code.
#cultureED#kyadmin#edchat#leadupchat
A1: It seems like some provocateurs like to promote disruption for disruption's sake. Disruption is absolutely necessary as society and needs change, but it is NEVER simply for the sake of shaking things up. There is always a purpose and goal behind this. #LeadUpChat
A1. Disruption doesn’t have to be a negative term. Let’s look at how @Apple@Twitter and @facebook disrupted the way we live and work. I see disruption as innovation-making something more efficient, effective, user friendly, or convenient! #leadupchat
A1-Work on removing the fear of failure when trying new things. I talked to a teacher yesterday about making that her goal. Reach and embrace the the struggle of growth #leadupchat
A1 - No one leader can see everything. Sometimes Admin doesn't make changes bkz they don't see the need. When it feels broke, do something strange. Not just for strange sake, but for the sake of learning and finding out what works.
#leadupchat
A1: I think a culture that allows disruption of status quo is exciting and is aware that change and growth are always part of ensuring best practices are in place. If your campus hasn't changed over time, you are not meeting the needs of your current students. #LeadUpChat
A1: When we get comfortable within organizations, then we are not pushing for better outcomes. Disruptions reminds us that we must keep reflecting and refining to achieve our goals. #LeadUpChat
Intentional disruption is strategic-an organized chaos, if you will. There is a defined goal and a mitigation plan to control ill consequences. #LeadUpChat
A1: disruption challenges us as teachers to never stop learning and growing ourselves. That growth mindset then trinkles down to our students and they are more willing to take risks #LeadUpChat
A1: Disruption helps us to get us out of old routines and can lead to positive change. There has to be intentional planning for the aftermath of the disruption, building in systems for collaboration, feedback, resources, planning #leadupchat
A1: I love doing things that have never been done before for the sake of Ss learning. As an admin letting Ts have the freedom to think/collaborate on all of the possibilities. Our students deserve it. #Leadupchat
#LeadUpChat A1)Disruption plays a role in a healthy work environment when it brings in change that allows more productive work to take place. When leaders come together to work on their jobs they become more aware of what works and what needs to change. #Education#Leaders
A1: It can be a good role to promote growth. Test first. Don't disrupt just for disruption sake, but make small bets, test, and challenge traditional ways of thinking. If you don't you'll stagnate. #leadupchat
A1: A hurricane is disruptive. Leading change is different in every school district. The speed of change is impacted by the culture, leaders, finances, sense of urgency, readiness, & other factors. #LeadUpChat
A1: Disruption is necessary. Never rest at “good” or “good enough” bc we can always be better than we are today! Change is contagious. Change takes time. Change is necessary! It’s what is best for kids. #leadupchat
A1: Disruption helps us to get us out of old routines and can lead to positive change. There has to be intentional planning for the aftermath of the disruption, building in systems for building relationships, collaboration, feedback, resources, planning #leadupchat
Good point. Plus the students in front of us aren't the same and they haven't always done it this way, so why not do what is best for them and how they would like it to be done. We have to be better, for our Ss and ourselves. #leadupchat
A1. Disruption is about challenging the old mindset, seeing the missing pieces in a broken process, or identifying where the structure doesn’t create the right conditions for success. When we amend structure & strategy to make the vision a reality, it is disruptive! #leadupchat
A1: Leading With Questions can disrupt leadership. It is an approach that allows multiple stakeholders to be part of the change leadership process. #LeadUpChat
A1. Our students interests, passions and creativity are constantly evolving. As educators its important to intentially disrupt what we “usually do” I order to keep our culture responsive to student need. #LeadUpChat
A1 Ts won’t buy in to a culture change if they don’t see it modeled and embraced by leadership. We can’t ask them to step outside of their comfort zones if we are afraid to be vulnerable in front of them. #leadupchat
A1: Disruption may also be about aligning & putting people & programs in a place of their strengths. We don’t talk enough about this. Morning all, Jennifer from OR! #Leadupchat
A1: I like to think of disruption in terms of the ocean. A storm on the surface does not necessarily disturb the ocean floor--things can remain quite calm there. If something is worth disrupting, it is worth disrupting the ocean floor and working up. #leadupchat
A1 - Disruption keeps things fresh. It keeps us in a "beginner's" mindset" which is so important. Complacency is a dangerous things, especially in institutions like education. #LeadUpChat
I think each person's interpretation of the connotation belies their vantage point.
Fixed v. Growth.
Static v. Dynamic.
Status v. Reflective.
Negative v. Positive.
#LeadUpChat
In reply to
@latoyadixon5, @chad_schuetz, @Apple, @Twitter, @facebook
A1: Disruption can lead us to make changes that create positive outcomes for our teams and learners. We have to trust the process and take the step. #leadupchat
A1: Evaluate on the the strengths and weaknesses of the campus. Discuss results with campus stakeholders and leaders that can ignite a positive role as change is implemented. #leadupchat
So true. Morphing to inquiry-based learning knocked my Ss socks off. Many who have never liked math do now. Even my sub noticed how happy my Ss are (not so common for a HS math class). #LeadUpChat
Disruption begins with awareness, of why a change is even needed…without awareness what is driving the need for change? Before we can disrupt our organizations or institutions, we first must be able to disrupt our own thinking, as individuals and as organizations #leadupchat
A1: It can be a good role to promote growth. Test first. Don't disrupt just for disruption sake, but make small bets, test, and challenge traditional ways of thinking. If you don't you'll stagnate. #leadupchat
A1: Developing a culture that encourages risk-taking, mistakes and failures and celebrating them (along w/successes) allows for disruption to be seen a positive. We must disrupt in order to grow #LeadUpChat
The problem is most negative practices believe disruption leading to positive impact is quite negative. This is the inherent problem. How do we know when we are the Empire? How do we know when we are the rebels creating positive change? #LeadUpChat
A1. Our students interests, passions and creativity are constantly evolving. As educators its important to intentially disrupt what we “usually do” in order to keep our culture responsive to student need. #LeadUpChat
A1: Good morning #leadupchat from Barbara, school counselor in TX and author of What's Under Your Cape.
A1: Just like we till the soil so that our plants can grow, we must disrupt the status quo to plant seeds of greatness and maximize our people growth.
A1 Leaders often have to input disruption to help dismiss haphazard and irresponsibile practices that do not contribute to overall S success. Changing the "We have always done it this way" mindsets to practices focused on innovation and growth are examples #leadupchat
A1. True disrupters can anticipate what facets of the organization’s structure or what organizational strategies are in danger of becoming ineffective or obsolete based on foreseen change. They are visionaries. They see the impact of failure to respond to change 1st🤓 #leadupchat
Disruption begins with awareness, of why a change is even needed…without awareness what is driving the need for change? Before we can disrupt our organizations or institutions, we first must be able to disrupt our own thinking, as individuals and as organizations #leadupchat
I like that Paul! A Beginner’s Mindset: Curious, Eager, Asking Questions, Reflective, Building Relationships, Growing, and Asking What If Questions.... A Great Reminder! #LeadUpChat
A2. You can’t be afraid to take risks and must become comfortable with failing! These are the same skills we want for our kiddos to promote grit and leadership. #leadupchat
A1: #LeadUpChat Without change and positive disruption... stag·na·tion
staɡˈnāSH(ə)n/
noun
the state of not flowing or moving.
"blocked drains resulting in water stagnation"
lack of activity, growth, or development.
You have to be aware of what’s going on in every aspect of your school. As a leader it is your responsibility to have an eagle eye view of your culture! #LeadUpChat
A2: Get around other people that enjoy seeing and anticipating what comes next. If you don't know anyone like that, odds are you're not thinking that way either. Who you hang with is really important #LeadUpChat
A2: By continuously working to be better, we can be in the mindset of a "Next" leader. We always have more to learn and there are always new methods and ideas to work with! #leadupchat
A2: Surrounding ourselves with forward-thinking, pushing-the-bar, growth mindset, out-of-the-box AND in-the-box thinkers & doers... Those that have HIGH expectations for themselves & others ~ to be better for Ss everyday! #leadupchat
A2: I have learned that we need to change our thinking about how Ss are disciplined. We need to change from the old-fashioned, punitive ways and move into a more trauma-informed,trauma-informed way of TEACHING the expected, appropriate behaviors. #leadupchat
Like all things in education--differentiation matters. Seeing the good AND the need matters. Pursue greatness at the rate that is both needed for students and the aligned to the capacity with which the culture has been prepared for change. #leadupchat
A1: A hurricane is disruptive. Leading change is different in every school district. The speed of change is impacted by the culture, leaders, finances, sense of urgency, readiness, & other factors. #LeadUpChat
A2: When I see a possibility, I bounce it off my accountability buddy (my AP) first. Then we pull in other stakeholders and brainstorm ways to make it actionable. Usually she suggests go slow to go fast which is important for someone like me. #leadupchat
A1: Have a willingness to be different and take risks. You want people who are willing to change and grow—and push you to do the same. Leaders who become satisfied with with the status quo very quickly become followers. #leadupchat
Q2: I have been told that I move faster than others and have to be careful to not push too hard or expect others to keep up. As a look forward in my career, is this going to be a weakness? #LeadUpChat
Healthy disruption starts with understanding that every system, decision, and strategy has a lifespan. If you are not changing you are falling behind! #LeadUpChat
A2: by making the time to learn new things and being the one willing to take risks. Show those around that it is safe to take risks and possibly fail. It’s all about trying! #LeadUpChat
A1: What if we created disruption safe havens?
Classes or times for play. Play with new #edtech, play with new strategies, play with innovation.
No eval, no judgment. Innovation spaces.
>>>And let disruption grow into culture shifts.
#LeadUpChat
A2. I try and get as many different types of training as possible. I love walking around a “teacher training” and hear people say they’ve never seen an SRO there before. Helps me see a situation from multiple angles and come up w a better “different” solution. #leadupchat
A2 Surround yourself with other thought leaders.
Invest time in thought, reading, and wondering
Engage on Twitter & Chats like #leadupchat
Look to other industries or professions for inspiration.
#LeadUpChat
A2: Surrounding ourselves with forward-thinking, pushing-the-bar, growth mindset, out-of-the-box AND in-the-box thinkers & doers... Those that have HIGH expectations for themselves & others ~ to be better for Ss everyday! #leadupchat
A2. Anticipatory leadership is about thinking, planning, and strategizing ahead. In practice this is about having a vision and developing a strategy to execute it, communicate it, & create the right conditions for it, building capacity in others to make it happen! #leadupchat
A2: I actually don't do this very well and am now realizing this may be the root of my frustration. In the past, I usually present a proposal, it gets rejected, then months later someone proposes the same thing as if it was their idea. I need a better strategy. #LeadUpChat
While we can’t predict…today’s leaders must be much more aware of the shifts that are impacting the future our and our society in some very exponential ways. We need a point of view for the future, both anticipating and forecasting for next steps. #leadupchat
Love this exercise... I'm stumped! Do we inspire the disruptors of tomorrow? As educators, we are merchants of ideas and dream and need to teach our Ss to harness those ideas and dreams. #leadupchat
A2: I think as a leader you must always be learning and connecting with others. You have to evaluate what you are learning and the current culture of your school. Will it work? If not, what steps need to be taken to get it there. #LeadUpChat
A2: I actually don't do this very well and am now realizing this may be the root of my frustration. In the past, I usually present a proposal, it gets rejected, then months later someone proposes the same thing as if it was their idea. I need a better strategy. #LeadUpChat
Educators facilitate learning by helping students discover and explore their genius, passion and purpose, and then connect them with mentors and experts who help them take it further. Learning is not place or time dependent. #LeadUpChat
A1 and A2: I think it's important to recognize that a person who seems to complain may have the next great idea out there! Engage the naysayers. #leadupchat
Moving from good to great takes courage! We must consider the impact of what we are doing. Determine if what we are doing is having the impact we are seeking. If not, disrupt. Innovate. Pursue greatness. #ChaseImpact#leadupchat
A1: Disruption is necessary. Never rest at “good” or “good enough” bc we can always be better than we are today! Change is contagious. Change takes time. Change is necessary! It’s what is best for kids. #leadupchat
A1 Morning #leadupchat
For outcomes to change, a positive disruption MUST happen in the classroom. The positivity from the students and teachers via #pinapple or #ObserveMe movement will help exposure a culture shift.
A2: Problems exist throughout every classroom and school building. When you arrive at one solution, do not settle, find another problem to solve to meet student needs #leadupchat
A2: Today, stop using the word CHALLENGES. Stop looking at things as CHALLENGES.
Use the word OPPORTUNITY and see challenges for what they really are - OPPORTUNITIES #leadupchat
I have to push all potential roadblocks or boundaries aside and just dream BIG. Once I can see the vision, I can begin to share it with others and let them help me see how it can become reality. #leadupchat
A2b: you have to build a #cultureofyes where you are in the business of removing barriers so people can take risks and try new things—it’s starts with you as a leader #leadupchat
Knowing how you and others process is a great strength. Because you process to the end quickly it can seem like you are trying to lead people to your answer when they should have time to arrive on their own. #LeadUpChat
A2: I am always trying to figure out ways to keep things advancing. I am surrounded by rockstars who can take small ideas I have and make them better and awesome. Giving encouragement for others to take flight with possibilities is important for a leader. #LeadUpChat
These are important points, Paul. When we invest in thought, reading, and wondering, we are increasing our tool kits to pour into our people. Helps build the momentum for "next" leadership #leadupchat
We don’t train Ss to disrupt. We train them to conform. There are exceptions, but in general conformity and politeness are the glue that keeps innovation from happening #LeadUpChat
A2. Anticipatory leaders are scholars of change theory, adult learning theory, organizational effectiveness, and strategic planning. They are congintigely engaged in the pursuit of and obsessed with bridging theory & practice. Wait I think I just described myself? 🤓 #leadupchat
I have some colleagues that I can talk with about my ideas and they help me to go forward and make things happen. That is really needed and wonderful. #leadupchat
A2: I am constantly reading and learning--as I know is true of all of you in this chat. Being mindful of our need to learn and grow provides space in our thinking and allows us to see possibilities before others see them. Then we act. :) #leadupchat
Maybe, but maybe not. We're not looking for our own glory; so as long as the change happens, it's all good. And we don't have to take the flack when it doesn't end up as envisioned. #LeadUpChat
A2: Being mindful of my thoughts. It’s about language. Often the first instinct we have is to explain how things “are” instead of how things “should” be. I live in the language of should. #LeadUpChat
A2. Anticipatory leaders are scholars of change theory, adult learning theory, organizational effectiveness, and strategic planning. They are cognitively engaged in the pursuit of and obsessed with bridging theory & practice. Wait I think I just described myself? 🤓 #leadupchat
A2: Introduce and model new techniques and educational strategies through innovative PD! Sometimes it needs to be done carefully and using baby steps. But slow and steady can still win the race!#LeadUpChat
A2) always being reflective. What can I do differently? Being passionate about getting better. It’s not easy to do this so finding those who can support and push your thinking has been important in my journey. #LeadUpChat
IMO - It can be a burden. Just remember you are leading people, not ideas alone. So make sure as you are "charging", that you don't turn around and see that you are alone. Bring your people with you, share your vision. Don't compromise, but be purposeful. #LeadUpChat
A2: the competitive side of me as always wanting to challenge myself to be the “first” or “only” to innovate something new on our campus. I look at our challenges and needs and try to find innovative ways to create new opportunities for our students and teachers. #Leadupchat
A2: I feel like a broken record some time...Are you as a leader listening to understand, are you constantly learning & growing, do you show that you are human, do you ask questions for clarity & understanding, or state back what you think you heard to confirm? #Leadupchat
A2: Looking for opportunities to grow and not being afraid to fail forward. Twitter PD can ignite your desire to learn more while also keeping you humble with inspiration from fellow educators. #leadupchat
A2: Vision is your North Star. Purpose is the fuel that powers you to follow it. Ask your staff why they are there. Ask what difference can they make. Ask what legacy they will leave. Purpose is powerful fuel. #leadupchat
A2: Leaders need to see down the road and around the corner. How do you accomplish this?
Listening, Observing in Classrooms, Leading w/Questions, Visiting other School Districts, PLN, Reading books outside education, Meeting w/Stakeholders, Reflection, & Conferences #LeadUpChat
Like the emphasis on surrounding yourself with strong team members, Majalise. When we are intentional about building a team with passion and focus, we increase our capacity to reach the collective vision of growth for all Ss #Leadupchat
Thinking/designing ahead of the curve (anticipatory leadership) in education is one of the keys to circumnavigating our way through an evolving world. We wonder why we stall out or are not keeping up...#LeadUpChat
A2: We use social media, books, articles and videos to provoke that kind of thinking with our teachers and our leaders. We also spend time in each other’s buildings watching innovative ideas in action. #LeadUpChat
We don’t train Ss to disrupt. We train them to conform. There are exceptions, but in general conformity and politeness are the glue that keeps innovation from happening #LeadUpChat
A2) To cultivate possibilities before others see them, I like to always think "outside the box" in that I never assume my ideas are not productive or new, rather I always give them and if they do not work, I collaborate with others. #LeadUpChat
If we're not effectively curating our own learning & building our own awareness of how the world is shifting & how those shifts will have effect on our students & education in the future…how can we effectively create a vision for moving forward in a relevant manner? #leadupchat
A2: I'm learning that it comes down to being true to yourself and your work. That seems to be the only way to create new. To be #FuturEd. To innovate.
#LeadUpChat
A3: Moving those that you are leading from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset! Getting others excited about the positive opportunities that change can bring! #LeadUpChat
A3: Keeping up with our fast-paced world is hard enough, trying to be a leader in it is even more difficult. The faster things move, the harder we should work to be on top of it all as a leader.#leadupchat
A3: This question makes my heart hurt! As educators, we should always want to do what's best for kids! Know that it could possibly not last forever is sad. #leadupchat
Hi Matt! I just finished I am Malala--talk about disruption!! So inspiring! I am currently reading Lincoln by David Herbert Donald. I will admit to being a Lincoln Leadership nut. And #PowerofMoments by Chip and Dan Heath...so good!! #leadupchat
@mafosti might immodestly suggest the new May 2018 Ed Leadership and my article on "restoring the teacher pipeline - and the profession” Ill be happy to send a copy to anyone who wants it.
#leadupchathttps://t.co/9td2zVw02X
A3: We have to live in the moment, but also be able to look down the road to see what is coming. Keep pushing the envelope on being innovative and empowering our teams and students. #leadupchat
If we're not effectively curating our own learning & building our own awareness of how the world is shifting & how those shifts will have effect on our students & education in the future…how can we effectively create a vision for moving forward in a relevant manner? #leadupchat
A3 - As a leader you can't be a "one trick pony". You cant never think you have "arrived", as soon as you think that the "train" has passed you by. There has to be a constant urning, professional reflection on yourself and what you are doing. #LeadUpChat
A3. Everything in this world is changing constantly. Our technology is changing, Ts are changing, Ss changing, parents changing...as leaders we MUST be in a state of constantly changing and apapting. Like a fat kid at a buffet, we must always b hungry! #leadupchat
A2: I have two Voxer groups that push my thinking. The educators are constantly trying new strategies, pushing the limits, and celebrating when someone has a win. We push each other. #LeadUpChat
A3: Actually I think that leaders are the reason these system changes happen. We should be seeking new ways to do things all the time. This type of change should be our goal, not something we react to. #LeadUpChat
A2: Surrounding ourselves with forward-thinking, pushing-the-bar, growth mindset, out-of-the-box AND in-the-box thinkers & doers... Those that have HIGH expectations for themselves & others ~ to be better for Ss everyday! #leadupchat
A3: People get married to ideas so it can be tough for change agents to cause those divorces. BUT, we must teach to the futures of our littles not to our past. Kids deserve better! Gentle coaching, empathy, compassion usually works best. #leadupchat
Leader as disruptor...
Leader as designer...
Leader as pioneer...
Leader as challenger…
Read the eBook here:
Surviving And Thriving In A VUCA World: In Consideration Of Education In The Exponential Age https://t.co/EpretwJFEQ#leadupchat
A3: I think you must empower your Ts to take ownership of their own learning and value the opinions they bring to the table. If you have created a true culture of learning, it will evolve over time. PL should never be dependent on one person’s knowledge and skills. #LeadUpChat
Yes! Keep reading, reading, reading! And, I would add, not just education-related books. Biographies, fiction, etc. also help us see possibilities. #LeadUpChat
A2: I am constantly reading and learning--as I know is true of all of you in this chat. Being mindful of our need to learn and grow provides space in our thinking and allows us to see possibilities before others see them. Then we act. :) #leadupchat
A3.2 - However in this tumult of leadership, we have to have peace within ourselves that "I am enough." Challenge your ideas, your practices, just be mindful not to change yourself as a person. YOU ARE ENOUGH. @dr_fredjohnson#LeadUpChat
A3: I don’t see this as a challenge at all. I see it as WHY we need to continue to learn and grow and never get too comfortable. If we want staff and Ss to change and grow then WE must do the same. #LeadUpChat
A3: as leaders, we have to cultivate a culture of innovation with our teachers and staff. It is important to help them develop the spirit and vision of innovation to continue to want to make programs and opportunities better and more exciting for kids. #Leadupchat
A2 I look at the greatest need and seek out fun solutions. I have no problem learning along my students or PLN. They do not have time for me to wait and get comfortable.#leadupchat
A3. Leaders absolutely must be LEARNERS first. If you don’t live on the cutting edge you can’t lead that way. A true leader’s first love is learning & leading is getting to share all you have learned with others! A leader cannot allow his or her learning to go stale! #leadupchat
A3. Staying with what we know is comfortable and easy. Change feels weird and uncertain. You must be brave enough to jump into the unknown! #leadupchat
Yes! It’s so important to know those that you are cultivating a change in! Gentle leading and empathy can definitely be a key part of effective leadership and moving beyond the “norms”! #leadupchat
A3: People get married to ideas so it can be tough for change agents to cause those divorces. BUT, we must teach to the futures of our littles not to our past. Kids deserve better! Gentle coaching, empathy, compassion usually works best. #leadupchat
A3: Embracing the truth the CHANGE is permanent can condition leaders to prepare for actions appropriate and in accordance with a prevailing concern or challenge. #LeadUpChat
A3: As @MsLaurynHill said “anything that isn’t growing is dead so we better be changing.”
There is constant evolution in our world and our schools and districts must transform to prepare all learners to be future ready. #LeadUpChat
A3 The challenge is to create and sustain a culture that embraces smart change AS the expectation. Then, people don't see new programs as panaceas, just stepping stones #LeadUpChat
I'm jealous...I think that's awesome! 5th-grade is so perfect, with their foundational skills in place and curiosity still at peak levels!
Are you sharing this story anywhere on the web? I'd like to follow.
#LeadUpChat
A3: We must build in the time for new learning. If we are not constantly refining/growing, then it will be challenging to lead on new ideas. #LeadUpChat
A3The challenge this poses is that practices may become antiquated. To guard against this, we are challenged to engage in continuous growth through research, collective & individual professional learning, & engagement with our colleagues to practice innovation #leadupchat
Confession to the #LeadUpChat tribe: This is my biggest fear: that I won’t learn fast enough or what I need to learn to continue being successful. I love to learn!
A3. Leaders absolutely must be LEARNERS first. If you don’t live on the cutting edge you can’t lead that way. A true leader’s first love is learning & leading is getting to share all you have learned with others! A leader cannot allow his or her learning to go stale! #leadupchat
The only constant is change…requires adding adaptability to our skillset. Today’s leaders exist in beta, constantly evolving their thinking and learning. #leadupchat
A3: Education is changing at a rapid pace. This ain’t The Oregon Trail or SRA Tests. Leaders know how to adapt and how to take other educators on the journey. #LeadUpChat
A3: I tell myself often, as I making decisions about what I am going to teach and how, "Am I in love with this lesson or with my students?" Sometimes it is hard to change what we used to do and found effective, but we MUST. #LeadUpChat
Truly an inspiring read. :) I also recently read H3 Leadership: Be Humble, Stay Hungry, Always Hustle. Loved it! You can see my selections are often outside of the education space--I think it's important to have our education leadership informed by multiple fields. #leadupchat
The best way to do that is to know what metrics will be used to determine success so that when we explore change we know whether an idea is merely “creative” or whether it is truly “innovative” #LeadUpChat
A3: It takes a village to rise a child. Getting a village to adopt new ways to do things breaks routine and habit - develop VULNERABILITY and COURAGE in people to get them to embrace change #leadupchat
A3. Great things don’t happen in schools because of great leaders. Great things happen because great people are collaborating and moving forward together. #LeadUpChat
I love this! Time represents intention and that is the beginning of learning. We also must be intentional to seek new options and ideas by building our PLNs with diverse mindsets. #LeadUpChat
A3: Education is in a constant state of change. I think this proves challenging because it takes 2-3 years to fully implement change and see reliable/valid data. Often we are asked to make changes before we are able to determine success. Thoughts? #LeadUpChat
Interesting. Most examples of disruption I’ve seen exist in cultures without it. If trust exists, there isn’t a need a disrupt because Ts can engage openly in ideas without it being a threat to the system. #LeadUpChat
Q3:When leading in large organizations it can take time for things to take hold. That sometimes makes adjustments or the introduction of new things seem overwhelming to those who are change or reflection averse. #leadupchat
A3) The way we do things as #Educators will not last, and that is why we are training future #Educators, (like me) on how to teach the next generation through things like #technology in the classroom!! #LeadUpChat
A3 We must always be learning, changing, and adapting, without losing yourself, your core values. Which means balance. Great book to read to understand this “balance” is David Whyte’s Three Marriages #Leadupchat
Like the inclusion of change here, Dan. Often, we see that resistance to change can stymie the progress that we desire for our schools. However, we know that intentional, strategic change can yield positive results #leadupchat
A3 when the world changes, instruction must change. You should be teaching what didn't exist last year. Give Ss literacy of the world they live in. #LeadUpChat
It would be fun to have a group of people intentionally share book lists. I know there are tools like GoodReads, but I am probably more interested in what folks in a chat like this are reading than anything else. #leadupchat
A4: I think about what is urgent and important, what is important and what can I wait on? Communication with parents and students is always urgent and important in my case. #leadupchat
Of course you did! All of the students used the answer keys when the teacher left the room for a smoke break. Growth was off the charts when she returned from the lounge. #LeadUpChat
A4 - Leaders have to be clear about their "purpose" and stay true to that. Your culture becomes what you allow, not what you preach. Stay true. #LeadUpChat
A4: listen to Ss. And Ts. The ones closest to the problem and have the freshest minds have the best answer. They aren’t limited to being stuck in a paradigm getting in the way. #leadupchat
A4: It's important to remember that in terms of student success and achievement, there is no room to let small problems work themselves out. As educators, this is our responsibility to jump on issues as a team with parents and colleges. #leadupchat
A4: It is about being present. I think leadership gets so busy with all the things that come at them that it is hard to be in the moment as well. Listening to staff and paying attention to the vibe of the school is a key way to stay in front of problems. #leadupchat
A3: With each passing year, that urge grows.
For me, I remind myself the past doesn't exist.
No one cares about past accomplishments.
Everything is in the now...to make a better #FuturEd#LeadUpChat
A4) Be present ... be visible in your building(s) ... look, listen ... read ... learn to look for trends in data and news ... build a wide PLN to keep an ear to the ground. #leadupchat
What a thoughtful question. leadership is a continuous act of reinvention. We admit what we don’t know. We acknowledge our mistakes. \We engage in continuous tests of hypotheses. i
https://t.co/HRu7HUljrJ#leadupchat
Today’s leaders have to realize that we are in the midst of a big shift; from technical problems to adaptive challenges. It is a time of dilemmas. Necessitates a willingness to be more comfortable in unknowns and uncertainty. #leadupchat
A4: We have to build a culture where it is appreciated and expected that small problems are addressed. A culture of trust allows these corrections without fear. Healthy relationships are a must. #LeadUpChat
A4: to avoid small problems from becoming big we have to communicate, listen and work together to create a solution that works for all. Not every problem should be the the responsibility of the leader with the title. #leadupchat
A4: Create a culture of transparency and empowerment by always being present, active, and outwardly reflective. Address any issue as they come up and always be researching and rekindling best practice methods. #leadupchat
Our system doe not often reward leaders who learn as much as it looks to form people into widgets who reflect the history and past practice of the organization. As leaders break from the mold through new learning it pushes the system to get better. #LeadUpChat
A3: Keep students at the center of planning. The "how" might change, but the "why" will stay the same. Focus on what the students need in order to grow and succeed. #leadupchat
Pay It Forward Day. Make it a way of life.
One good deed might not seem like much, but if everyone did something good for someone else, then the cycle of generosity and kindness can spark us to become better people.
#bekindEDU#kidsdeserveit#tlap#LeadLAP#satchat#LeadupChat
A3: I think it is important to have a relationship with teachers and staff such that they are comfortable to come in to discuss issues or brave enough to confront those small issues with decisions that can be supported by you as a leader. #leadupchat

#bekindEDU#kidsdeserveit#tlap#LeadLAP#satchat#LeadupChat
Rule #1 of change -be clear about what does not change. Culture, traditions, and personal beliefs deserve respect. Then we can change.
https://t.co/HRu7HUljrJ#leadupchat
A4) Leading ahead of the curve is solving the problem before it is a problem. Are we building teams for tasks or to solve problems? Is my leadership one that says, "I solve problems as I see them or I deal with predictable problems/opportunities now?" #LeadUpChat
A4: Stong leaders hold a clear vision. When they lose sight of it, it dies a “death of 1000 cuts.” To stop this, leaders must react swiftly to even the smallest vision contradicting behavior. Don’t ever “let if go just once” because if you do, it won’t be just once. #LeadUpChat
A3: it is also important to cultivate distributive leadership within the building as they help to guide and make decisions. This is an important piece that I don’t believe is talked about enough. #Leadupchat
Today’s leaders need to be able to not only think in, but see and make their systems much more visible. Making our systems visible allows us to not only determine where improvement is needed, but where positive deviance and bright spots are shining through. #leadupchat
A4.2 - Leaders must "ADDRESS", but not "STRESS" the small stuff. You cannot let it go on, but don't let it become all you do. Small issues are often produced by small minds of small people. Don't get caught up in the drama - keep your eyes on the prize. #LeadUpChat
I think the possibilities could be endless!! Things like motivation, and collaboration are my favorite ways to work in a classroom, as a learner myself and a future Educator. #LeadUpChat#Education#Leaders#Learning
A4: We all have conflict; it's a part of life. It's so important to care-front the people involved as soon as small problems start. A climate that gives people permission to share, to process, to reflect, to problem-solve makes this a lot easier. #leadupchat
A4 We stay in front of it by cultivating a team of leaders and not just one sole leader. When we input this practice, our team members can help to identify issues that can tear at the fabric of progress & help create solutions that allow us to move forward #leadupchat

I read that with one of my students. Just saw that sitting on his desk one day and got it from the library. We read it together with a lot of conversations informally. #LeadUpChat
It talked about engaged pedagogy. How we need to turn the classroom into a space where disruption to the norms are status quo. It’s focused on the college classroom, but has application to K-12. It really questions where our current classroom paradigm comes from. #leadupchat
A4: Create a culture of transparency and empowerment by always being present, active, and outwardly reflective. Address any issue as they come up and always be researching and rekindling best practice methods. #leadupchat
A4: I like that comparison @heffrey ..."are we building teams for tasks or to solve problems?" Treat "problems" as opportunities then you will never have a problem, just opportunities to grow #leadupchat
A4: Great question! I was thinking of that this morning! We need to include teacher voice, student voice and parent voice as we lead. These perspectives help us nip the small problems in the bud before they become big problems. #LeadUpChat
I absolutely agree! Our energy is too important to spend it pursuing who others are and what others do. Authentic actions begins with understanding our personal vision for education and leadership. #leadupchat
A4. Small problems become big problems when leaders lack the courage to do something about them. If you don’t adress an infection it can make your body septic. The same is true for issues in the organization! Be brave! #LeadUpChat
A4: Transparency is key. You must communicate the “why” clearly and be open for feedback. I would much rather one of my Ts voice their complaint to me than in the parking lot. I might not like it, but healthy conflict is essential. #LeadUpChat
A4: If relationships are positive, it isn't as hard to address the "leak under the sink" before it is a disaster. Putting a bucket under it and hoping it will be okay will eventually lead to a rotted foundation. Be a plumber. #LeadUpChat
Key word: healthy. Conflict for conflict's sake is not good, and I see many teachers engaged in this. Usually... in the last few years before they retire. Sad. #leadupchat
Understand your point here, Jon. This also helps with not only establishing clarity but fine-tuning transparency. Team members are clear about expectations and will work to meet them #leadupchat
A4 You can't lead from a desk. If you are out and about, you can see the little things that while meant with good intention needs redirection before it has a chance to become common practice. #LeadUpChat
You are absolutely right. However, there are bellweather indicators or changes in the air that we can anticipate. This is true in education, organizations, and business. This is how businesses stay in touch with consumers. Nobody wants a Beta/VHS player anymore. #LeadUpChat
A4: Relationships are key to viewing problems. With a healthy relationship, it can be addressed as "our" problem. Without the relationship, a response might be that it is "my" problem. #leadupchat
A4: Address the small violations of core principles or shared agreements. Address everything and no one will listen to you. The biggest lever is empowering the staff to use inter accountability to keep themselves in check. That's a sign of a healthy org #leadupchat
A4: We have to build a culture where it is appreciated and expected that small problems are addressed. A culture of trust allows these corrections without fear. Healthy relationships are a must. #LeadUpChat
A5: Kotter’s change model is helpful guidance here. Build coalitions. Bring people along. Look for quick successes. Don’t do it all at once. Strategic planning through change is everything #leadupchat
I absolutely agree! Our energy is too important to spend it pursuing who others are and what others do. Authentic actions begins with understanding our personal vision for education and leadership. #leadupchat
Sure! @bradlomenick He does weave Christian principles throughout his book as he helps leaders understand how to be truly effective. I very much appreciated that perspective but wanted to provide that disclaimer in case. #leadupchat
A5) Don't look at resistance as a bad thing ... look at it as a window into the soul ... find the root cause and address that. #leadupchat
Love this article: https://t.co/vgXlwMRzfA
A5 - Resistance, like change will always happen. Don't be count off guard by it. Seek to understand WHY. Leaders must create other leaders and create room for followers. You just can't be scared of it or allow it to stop you from your PURPOSE of change. #LeadUpChat
Begin with awareness of “why” a change is necessary, determine the cognitive load it will put upon people and the system to make the change, and as the Heath Brothers share, keep the Rider, Elephant, and Path all in mind throughout. #leadupchat
Leaders must pay relentless attention to their people. Instead of focusing on how you solve problems, focus on learning how your people solve problems. You work THROUGH your team, not ON them. #LeadUpChat
a5 We need to accept resistance with humility. We could possibly be wrong. It's imp to believe our efforts to do the right thing will end up well. #LeadUpChat
Also; “grease the skids” before enacting change. Let people define and determine HOW the change looks. Open lines of feedback in the midst of change. Keep an eye on metrics of success. Sometimes we care more about how we change than what we change. Let go of how. #LeadUpChat
A5: Learn from the resistors. What is there reisitence telling you about your style or vision? Then engage them in the process. Empower them to be a leader in the process they are resisting. #LeadUpChat
I agree! In the Event-Response-Outsome cycle we can only control our response. If our responses are grounded in our values we will provide the consistency needed for people to find safety. Funny Story - All of our Spanish Books are filled with VCR references. #LeadUpChat
A5: I’m in the midst of this now! Transparency of self, providing All with a voice in the process, inspire with a relevant why, and provide a clear vision laced with high expectations. A we will help you get there mindset. #leadupchat#pushbohndedu
A5: Celebrating the wins helps ease the resistance. We resist things we fear, don't understand, cause loss, or cause discomfort. Celebrating the wins counteracts the causes for concern and is motivating. @HowManyWins#LeadUpChat
A5: working through resistance needs constant communication, asking for understanding, & encouraging the "why not?". We can't be afraid to try something new on the merits that it has never been done before. Be brave & work to make it happen. #leadupchat
A5: Be brave! When you know what you and you Ts are doing is best for kids, lead confidently. Respond to negativity positively, which I admit is a struggle at times. However, sometimes those resisters will surprise you. #LeadUpChat
A5: Building positive relationships first and then being supportive. We need to meet ppl where they are if we want change to be sustainable. #LeadUpChat
A5 By being honest with the challenges while, at the same time, keeping my own attitude positive, focused on the benefits of the change.
I know as a leader, my attitude sets the tone! #Leadupchat
A4: So many problems occur because we all have a different perception. I wonder how many could be solved by simply trying to understand the other person’s thinking. #LeadUpChat
A5: Laser-like focus on the shared mission and mission statement of the organization. If there is buy-in to the mission, productive discussions ensue. If there is not buy-in, then the person might be a good fit for the organization. #leadupchat
A5: (sorry for joining the party late!). It's important to keep people on the same page, no matter what change comes. Change is inevitable, it is how it is presented that matters #leadupchat
A5: I think challenges push us to be better. If we never ran into conflict and challenges, are we doing our jobs to the best of our abilities? It makes me a better teacher when my Ss challenge me and push back. #leadupchat
Agreed - without giving them a platform if their motives or reasons to resist are against your organization's vision or purpose. Difficult balance for leaders. #LeadUpChat
As leaders we can become guilty of the "curse of confidence" b/c others may defer to us as the expert for our team, building, campus, or organization. We have to resist being the expert and instead listen, ask, - stay out in front. I hope I never become the "expert." #LeadUpChat
I used Peardeck Wed at NCTM Research this week and I think it was my best presentation ever bc the audience could interact as I spoke. I paused to look at what they were asking and displayed their Qs. They didn't even have to be on the same slide. #LeadUpChat

I brought 2 flash drives on Thursday when I gave a luncheon keynote. Thought it might be overkill but I've been there, forced to present without my tech and it wasn't my best, for sure.
A5. Anticipatory leaders expect resistance. To prepare, they develop strategies to address it but aren’t deterred by people’s fear of change. They understand resistance as part of the change process. Desegregation & the fight for equal rights were/are resisted too. #LeadUpChat
A5:Authentic, relevant, and complex dialogue is intentional and explicit. When change is in the air certain conversations are satisfying and true yet have no power and no accountability.
#leadupchat
Leading confidently also means; when challenged, there should be no fear. Either the feedback is accurate and will make the change better, but if it isn’t accurate it isn’t a threat to your confidence. Don’t dismiss. Explore the null hypothesis before discounting #LeadUpChat
A5: Leading with LOVE. Resistance is often not from a lazy or bitter person. There should not be a group of good vs. bad on school sites. We are all on a journey and have found ways to fit into the system. System change is scary for some, LOVE them all! #LeadUpChat
A5 It's important for leaders to clarify the nature of the resistance - is it fear of the unknown, communication, or recalcitrance - once this has been addressed, leaders have the opportunity share change as an opportunity for all team members to grow as we serve Ss #leadupchat
A5: I'm living this now. You have to trust yourself and those leaders around you that what you're doing is right. You've done the research. You've got the data. You've developed a plan. You've gotten the feedback. Time to make the leap. #Leadupchat
On one hand, I think we need to always be Qg everything. On the other hand, when toxic negativity is tolerated, it bullies the life out of initiative. #LeadUpChat
A5: Where change exists it is a breeding ground for adversity. Be preventatively prepared to expect emotional driving forces at play! #LeadUpChathttps://t.co/bEWmgEKkrz
The people I supervise and lead know more than me. Always. They have better data. If my team tells me I am missing something, I need to pay attention. #LeadUpChat
Love this approach to challenges! I often remind myself (and others) that bodybuilders chase the challenge of heavier weights. Rather then asking the weight to be removed, they strengthen their ability to lift it. #leadupchat
A5: I think challenges push us to be better. If we never ran into conflict and challenges, are we doing our jobs to the best of our abilities? It makes me a better teacher when my Ss challenge me and push back. #leadupchat
A5(2): Find and publicly celebrate the things that resistors say that make sense. Listen to them. Their resistance is usually a cover for a fear they have or a need they have that’s not met. #LeadUpChat
It helped to attend a session immediately before where they read slides, side-talked through missteps, then flipped to next slides before I could internalize what was on the one before. That gave me confidence I was going to be doing something more engaging. #leadupchat
In reply to

A5: Any kid that played with Stretch Armstrong knows you can pull, stretch, and transform the toy. At some point, the toy will stretch too far and break. Leaders know how much tension and pulling the organization can handle. #LeadUpChat
Exactly. But that’s where we need to start so we know what the change we are making is supposed to do. Often times we start with the change and THEN define metrics. This isn’t good strategy #LeadUpChat
A5: Be open to hear concerns but not open to doing less than your best. I want to hear the concerns of others but if those concerns are rooted in not thinking we can improve or the "I know it all" mentality I hope to help them another way but if not we move forward #leadupchat
A5 It's important for leaders to clarify the nature of the resistance - is it fear of the unknown, communication, or recalcitrance - once this has been addressed, leaders have the opportunity share change as an opportunity for all team members to grow as we serve Ss #leadupchat
A5: I see resistance comes when ppl see it as just another pendulum swing. The vision must be clear and internalized. For those who are still resistors, the culture has to push them forward anyway. NO MORE "JUST CLOSE YOUR DOOR" AND DO WHAT YOU ALWAYS DID! #LeadUpChat
The “why” is important. Do they understand the why behind change and do we understand the why behind the resistance to the change. Acknowledgement of both is essential to move forward. #leadupchat
A5: Constant positive public praise for the behaviors that we want replicated like a contagion!! Sprinkle the elephant in the room with glitter! #LeadUpChat
Yes. I always ask; how involved do you want me to be; I know too much speaks “I don’t trust you” and too little speaks “this isn’t important.” It’s helped me with my teams often to determine my role in projects. #LeadUpChat
My husband came to the Mindfulness Expo and his feedback was similar; he told me I had too much info on some of my slides. So I deleted those to make the next presentation more audience-friendly. LOVE the idea of letting them give feedback in real time! #leadupchat
A5) Leading effectively through challenges and change is seen through teachers in teacher to student relationships, when teachers care about their students they can handle any kind of classroom change that comes their way.... #LeadUpChat
A5. Too often folks give up on the vision at the first sight of resistance. Change takes time and resistance is a part of the natural order of things. The key is persistence and consistency! Keep going! Push through! Press on anyhow! #leadupchat
NCTM is pushing traditional math instruction into the 21st Century. I am hoping to see T interest in NCTM's new book that could open discussions about shifts. #leadupchat
A6: Our district has rezoned and we are currently planning for 100+ more students and new staff next year. I will return Monday with eyes that see who is NOT in the room as we plan and prepare for our growth spurt. #leadupchat
Anticipate that you're going to have to be a lifelong learner. As CEO of ATT recently said, “Your skillset is two years, max!” Or as Kevin Kelly of Wired said, “We are all newbies in today’s world.” Get used to learning being an important part of your future journey. #leadupchat
Really the hierarchy needs to be flipped on its head. Ss at the top. Most power. Ts role is to support Ss. Admins job should really be focused on supporting Ts. What resources and support do Ts need to support Ss #LeadUpChat
Agreed! While there will be some within your organization that will attempt to sabotage anything, most resist because they don't know how or why. Have you done enough as a leader to help that group (largest in your organization) to understand? #LeadUpChat
A6: I anticipate celebrations; students moving to new schools next year; retirement; and end-of-year tests. We need to focus on the present. Too often, we get tied up in next year. Some of our students and staff won’t be here next year. “Live in the Now.” #leadupchat
A5: If you have a strong foundation of trust, respect, and authenticity challenges will be easier to overcome. Resistance is seen as genuine concern not dissenting behavior!🙏🏻
Especially if you are convinced that this is consistent with the mission and vision of your organization. That is where security in change often lies. #LeadUpChat
A6. I anticipate that our team will have to be ready to share how to scale up and spread our improvement model across the nation. We’ve got great work happening in SC and the model is innovative. #LeadUpChat
A6: Motivating and inspiring everyone to Finish Strong. Bringing in innovation, creativity and student voice for a purpose in end rhe year on top! Learning is a lifestyle not a report card! #LeadUpChat
So important! Value people and perspective. Recognize that these insights should inform your thinking and decision making. However, recognize that sometimes--after you have synthesized all perspectives--your final decision will still make some people unhappy. #leadupchat
A6: Just started working on a PD plan for next school year. The biggest area is see if increasing our different approaches to engage all learners. We do great work but there are pockets of Ss I worry are not being reached due to our limitations. Time to look deeper #leadupchat
A5) To reduce risk of resistance to change, involve the people being asked to change in the planning and decision-making process so they don't feel steamrolled. People resist forced compliance because it communicates that you don't trust or value their contributions
#leadupchat
A6: Always thinking about what is best for our youth. Monday is always a new start to the week! Looking forward to helping students meet their own goals; graduation, next grade level, passing a test! #leadupchat
A5: resistance is fertile. Listen to it. Find valuable data and perspective in it. Your tolerance for criticism will win over some and inspire others. You don’t lead “change” -you lead people. #LeadUpChat
A6: As a student, taking advantage of resources like these tweetchats can help me to anticipate how things are in the schools now and what I can do to prepare myself for the future. #leadupchat
A5: resistance is fertile. Listen to it. Find valuable data and perspective in it. Your tolerance for criticism will win over some and inspire others. You don’t lead “change” -you lead people. #LeadUpChat
A6 - Monday continues for me to build relationships; continue to learn; continue to model the way; continue to cast a vision; continue to push thinking; continue to ask questions; continue to engage; continue...

A6: Great question. I would love to ask this question of our staff to see what they think. We all have thoughts about where it is going. Are we all on the same page? #LeadUpChat
Thank you to everyone who contributed to make our convo today at #LeadUpChat rich and diverse! We are better together. Leadership change begins with us!
Depends in teacher. Non tenure teachers are often warned to be careful and say yes. Some wait till tenure, out of fear, to be the positive disruptor. #leadupchat
A6: Don't you just love how #leadupchat invites us to apply our learning??!! :) In my current role, this will impact my Monday because I will seek to anticipate the needs of the district leaders with whom I will be working over the next few weeks.
Thx Kellie. You can't imagine how many people have commented the same way.
It doesn't do anyone any good to act like we are so perfect. I want leaders and colleagues who are learning & striving to improve. #leadupchat
A6.2 - Challenge to all of us, in the busiest time of year, when there is so much to do, etc. - don't forget to keep your eyes and the eyes of others UP. #LeadUpChat
A6: Testing is done & we have another month of school. It’s time to get back in routines & focus on learning. I’m contemplating doing a Pineapple Chart w/ my Ts. We must finish strong! We‘re in the life saving business & shouldn’t just count down the days to vacation #LeadUpChat
A6: We are really trying to marry our learning and ”the work” So that learning time is meaningful and purposeful. Using design teams of the people that will be in the PD to create the learning for their colleagues. #LeadupChat
