#champforkids Hey there, Rebecca from Virginia Beach! I'm moving from k to 1st this year and I'm so excited! @missshindelar should join us because she is a champ!
I absoluetly love working with my littles. I may have some 4th graders this year also. Who I work with is always in flux. But that is okay. Glad you are excited to move up - are you looping or will you have just a few of the same littles? #ChampForKids
Keri from NYC. ESL teacher/instructional coach. Founder of #ECSchat (education case study chat - Sundays at 7 PM ET). I can't post a bitmoji because I'm RTing because I have to RT or I can't remember what I was responding to later on lol #champforkids

Q1 - "It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you're not."
How has self-doubt held you back personally and/or professionally? #champforkids
A1: Self-doubt steals the fun from everything! It creates anxiety, shame, defensiveness, & guilt. Self-doubt is toxic, yet fear is powerful & can still hold you back. #ChampForKids
A1: self doubt can be paralyzing especially when the stakes are high. When I start to self doubt, I tend to minimize my actions, avoid the situation, or hesitate out of fear that the push back will be too much #champforkids
A1: I struggle with believing that I am good enough - in all aspects of my life. This has been especially challenging as I prepare for a change in district and position. #champforkids
A1 - Self-doubt nearly cost me the job I'm in now. I accepted a 1st gr when I was called to be a GRT. I said YES, but my mind kept telling me, "Your aren't ready, you won't know what to do." On two diff occasions I almost called and went back to the other job.#champforkids
A1: Self-doubt has kept me from speaking up & sharing my opinion. There's nothing more paralyzing than wanting to share something & feeling like someone or a group is looking at you like, "what now?" I've learned that I need to believe in myself & ALL that I am. #champforkids
A1 Self-doubt has held me back both personally & professionally during the times when I allow my own need for perfection to take over & cause me to second guess things. It's a conscious effort to not let smaller things matter so much & just make things happen. #champforkids
A1: Way too often. After being rejected so many times for opportunities, doubt seeps in and makes me think, "Am I really as good as other people tell me that I am?" Just looking for one opportunity to showcase my talents in the arena. #champforkids
A1: It has led me to not pursue certain opportunities because I felt like I could not meet expectations. It has put up road bumps where the path was originally smoother. #champforkids
A1 - The problem for me is this: If I think I can accomplish something and then I don't, I start to think, "Oh, I was wrong that time. I can't do anything. I probably can't even cook eggs. No point." Unfortunately, I'm always a little bit off until I succeed again. #champforkids
Q1 - "It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you're not."
How has self-doubt held you back personally and/or professionally? #champforkids
Hola PLN! Edwin. 3rd grade teacher from the city of brotherly love! Excited to join in tonight. Been away from a three week road trip-so now I’m back. 😊 #champforkids
#champforkids A1 I worry too much about how I am perceived. If you let it, self doubt will stop you from making change, taking risks and being the best version of yourself.
A1) I'm sometimes held back when I compare myself to others who are doing so much more (writing books, speaking, presenting, blogging, sharing, creating, connecting). #champforkids
Q1 - "It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you're not."
How has self-doubt held you back personally and/or professionally? #champforkids
A1 - When I first started teaching I wasn’t sure if I had what it takes to make a difference. It took time to really have that settle in. #champforkids
Agreed! Those voices of doubt are LOUD & speaker with more force than positivity can sometimes overcome. Have to take a step back, have perspective, & remember all the times you've had success. #champforkids
A1: I had a professor who didn't care for my style and what I was writing. I let that get in my head taht I wasn't good enough and still working through it 4 yrs later. #ChampForKids
#champforkids I have fear of judgement a lot- sometimes it paralyzes me- but I have meditation strategies and mindfulness mantras I chant to myself that push me out of my shell. We all have a story to tell and sharing it is important so I meditate and pause to focus a lot.
Q1 - "It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you're not."
How has self-doubt held you back personally and/or professionally? #champforkids
A1: Self doubt has made me feel my opinions and ideas are not good enough to share with others. It has kept me from taking personal and professional risks. #ChampForKids
This is so true. Failure can sometimes send our minds reeling and it can be hard to get back on track. We must practice what we preach about mindset! It is hard for me too! BTW I'm sure your eggs are fantastic! #champforkids
A1: Confidence and Self Doubt are the swords in our heart my friends. At times, my ego got the best of me and I did the worst thing evs- Compared myself to others. I always have to remember that I am me, deal, improve, and love the me that I have been given. #champforkids
Q1 - "It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you're not."
How has self-doubt held you back personally and/or professionally? #champforkids
Q1 - "It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you're not."
How has self-doubt held you back personally and/or professionally? #champforkids
A mentor of mine once said, "When something doesn't go the way you wanted it to, go home & cut the grass!" You see immediate results & remember you CAN make a difference, even if small! That helped me! #ChampForKids
Thanks! It's meant to be USEFUL and I think it really is. Working on an article for DisruptEDtv right now and it's fun and challenging and fun! Can't wait to hear what you think! #champforkids
A1: About 5 years ago, I became very overwhelmed with the class I had-as well as other things. There were some difficulties with colleagues. I started to doubt everything I did, so I stopped leading and sharing opinions. #champforkids
Q1 - "It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you're not."
How has self-doubt held you back personally and/or professionally? #champforkids
A1: jumping in late. First time in this chat! That’s a tough question for me to answer. I haven’t really thought about that. I’d need time to think! #champforkids
A1: I battle with self-doubt daily in my personal and professional life. It’s such a struggle. I really try not self-doubt, but it’s hard for me. Even my admin and other mentor/coaches have told me to be more positive on myself. #champforkids
Q1 - "It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you're not."
How has self-doubt held you back personally and/or professionally? #champforkids
A1 #champforkids I remember when I was taking my first education classes- oh so long ago- and discovered I would have to teach a lesson in front of the class- I almost dropped out of the course- it took a huge effort to push through my fear- today the same strategies are useful
A1b - our belief system is huge. If we lack confidence and a willingness to believe, it directly impacts kids. Be proud of who you are and what you do. #champforkids
A1- As Ts we sometimes fall into the trap of comparing ourselves to other Ts. Self-doubt is often initiated by my comparing myself to another T who I think has it together more than me. I haven't offered to share ideas because I don't feel they're as good as others. #champforkids
Really loud - I know I'm better, but when you can't seem to make a professor happy and it is all riding on what he thinkns. Another reason even college should be revamped. Out with the old and bring in real life! #ChampForKids
A1-Definitely overthinking. I am naturally insecure about many things. I care what might be, what others thought. At the end of the day, I need to raise myself up the way I do others. I'm worth it. Let go of it. I don'tdo that in classrooms. #champforkids
A5 Top 5?!
Creative (Especially with Solutions!)
Enthusiasm
Sincere
Honest
All-in!
Fun seeing my own kids' Top 5! My daughter decided to stay in the pool yesterday until she taught herself to swim! She DID!
#champforkids
A1- I've always wanted to write, however, am constantly comparing myself to others already putting themselves out there and I worry that my voice would add nothing new to the conversation. Have to remember that if it's me, and authentically so, that's good enough #champforkids
Self doubt plagues just about everyone ... except for kids ... that is until adults create self doubt for them ... don't do that ... that is too dangerous ... fear that ... #champforkids
Q1 - "It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you're not."
How has self-doubt held you back personally and/or professionally? #champforkids
#champforkids Sometimes it's self-doubt, sometimes it the feedback the world has given me. I've learned that I have something valuable to share but that nobody wants to hear it from me, specifically. So I sometimes don't act or speak when I should. Or speak too tentatively.
A1: The saying, “Our biggest enemy is inside our heads” is so true. If we can just hold off on self-doubt and judgement for a bit, we will save ourselves so much needless worry. Me included ❤️❤️❤️ #Path2Serendipity#champforkids
A1. Self-doubt can be its own energy vampire. I won’t let it SUCK the FUN or confident out of me! Knowing I’m human & embracing my mistakes & celebrating with my kids enthusiastically #ChampForKids
A2 When I quizzed, my top 5 @CliftonStr-engths were: Relator, Strategic, Connectedness, Empathy, & Adaptability. Being aware of these & using them when needed has been invaluable both w/Ss & colleagues. So important to know our strengths as well as & our basements. #champforkids
i don't think of myself as a "teacher" ... i like to think I am having a discussion ... sharing information ... sometimes it is just a matter of how you look at things. #champforkids
Aaron Popp va beach 5th gr A1 2yrs ago I moved schools AND decided to get my masters. I was afraid it was too much for me and almost didn’t go back to school. I ended up doing it and was glad I did! I was in a very supportive cohort and I graduated this past May! #champforkids
Hi all! IIIIIIMMMMMMMM BAAAAAAAAAACCCCKKKKK! Kristen here from PA. I’m late because it’s been a week away and I’m out of my groove. But I need this tonight after the morning I had! #champforkids
#champforkids That said, thank you @MrPStrunk for encouraging me to have a voice and try blogging. Here is the latest installment on coupling grades with feedback...allegedly a no-no. I'm dangerous like that. 😈
https://t.co/vkXSbzXYzw
Social media & the perfection on display makes this harder too. We tend to only see the positive & most successful moments. It's nice that #edchat discussions offer a different perspective & allow us to network with a PLN that isn't afraid to share struggles & grow. #champforkids
#champforkids 1-mindfulness 2- responding not reacting 3-Building relationships- especially with students 4-seeing hurdles as step ladders to see the battlefield 5- Writing about the ups and downs- genuine reflection
Thanks, I have been working to pull words together to write a blog post about it. Think that may theraputic in a way to help me move on past. #ChampForKids
A2: 1) Life-long learner: I fully believe that there’s always something for us to learn. 2) Good listener 3) Motivated 4) Flexible 5) Organized-in some aspects. #champforkids
I have seen people sharing and stealing from your amazing work with the positive calls home! You my friend are making an impact!!!! Kick that self-doubt to the curb and Keep up the good work! #champforkids
A2 Building relationships with Ss, organization, and encouragement are a few. Tonight's chat is reminding me to focus on my strengths as that will get me farther than worrying about my weaknesses. :) #champforkids
Me too - I'm really going to work on being more "humbly confident" this year and focus on sharing more of my opinions/ideas with those around me. #ChampForKids
A2: My top strengths as I perceive them: Organized, Driven, Committed, love for learning (myself and my kids), always searching for improvement #champforkids
Howdy #champforkids ~ A1: Self-doubt almost kept me from working with my #character crew to apply for our @CharacterDotOrg National School of Character distinction after writing the application unsuccessfully 7 times. But we wrote it anyway and were ultimately named a 2009 NSOC.
A2: This is very therapeautic lol.
- I'm multilingual
- I'm unbelievably patient
- I empathize with everyone
- I have a good heart
- I DIY everything - gel nails, eyelash extensions, eyebrow waxing, web design, auto tech stuff - I can teach myself anything #champforkids
A1: I was told for many years that I need to be quieter, less wiggly, less silly. Like a prim and proper girl who doesn’t wiggle her foot or her fork at dinner. That was a hard thing to get over professionally and personally. Especislly when you want to be perfect. #champforkids
How fun. When our Jacob was in 5th grade, we got to take him to DC to the @CharacterDotOrg National Forum and he got to read an essay he wrote to participants in my breakout session; it was epic! Such a win-win, to include our kids in our experiences. #champforkids
In reply to
@AllysonApsey, @MichaelBonner_, @CharacterDotOrg
A2b - Again, frequently I see and hear people who are afraid to say what they are good at. We should be proud that we love kids, love teaching and enjoy making a difference. I will never apologize for being passionate about teaching. #champforkids
#champforkids A2.
Kids always come first
I'm passionate abt our field
I'm persistent
I'm kind and want others to succeed
I always want to learn and become a better person
A3 I'm creative and enthusiastic and sincere and all-in about the STUDENTS' ideas! It's about THEM and I spend each day student-focused. It's so fun & their ideas are inspiring. We have to do more to help them make ideas HAPPEN. They made these & my room happen #champforkids
A2 Building relationships with Ss, organization, and encouragement are a few. Tonight's chat is reminding me to focus on my strengths as that will get me farther than worrying about my weaknesses. :) #champforkids
A3: Over the years I’ve learned to listen with my ears, as well as with my heart & mind. I’ve learned to let the student lead by saying “YOU are the expert on you. Teach me.” Then sitting back, being fully present & committed. #champforkids
A2. So tough when you’re trained to be in the helping field and your days are spent picking them out of others! Let’s see...collaborator, rational, compassionate, easily excitable, heavy thinker. #champforkids
A3: I'm passionate about what I do & will do whatever it takes to helps others be successful. This determination to be positive, creative, collaborative, supportive & inclusive helps me to provide my best so that we can overcome obstacles & celebrate together. #champforkids
A3 - Passion keeps me focused on my "why"! Being solution-oriented steers me away from complaining about what is instead of seeing what can be. Kindness is🔑 to building relationships. Creativity helps me to be innovative. Encouraging others helps me to connect! #champforkids
A3 My Top 5 strengths have made me an amazing educator because I am able to Relate, show Empathy, & Connect with my Ss. Strategy & Adaptability have helped me be able to go with the flow & not stress when someone has #movedmycheese. #champforkids
A3: I believe that my strengths allow me to take healthy risks without fear of failure - understanding that any failure that may come will only lead me to a bigger success. #champforkids
A3: I work everyday to help our school be the best I KNOW it can be! I truly believe our students deserve the best and when we create this type of learning environment, the outcomes will be endless #champforkids
A2. My top 5 strengths:
🥊 Huge ❤️
🥊 sense of humor/creative
🥊passionate abt MY kids-OUR KIDS
🥊tech savvy
🥊FIGHTER- due to clean mammogram today- 1 yr #breastcancersurvivor#ChampforKids
A3: I'm aware of life's challenges, and I teach through the lens of the unknown. I don’t know what others are going through. W/ my hope and unending love for each child I serve, I can hold to my belief that I will reach them, and they will achieve great things!. #champforkids
A3: As a kid, school was difficult. I had troubles in classes and with friends. As a teacher, my goal is to offer to my Ss everything that I wanted -- to be loved, to be respected, to feel that they have value as a person, to believe that they will be successful. #champforkids
... strengths ... when it comes to teaching my strength is my ignorance. I was not an education major so no one ever told me the “right” way ... I do whatever works and most of the time it goes against what is taught as “best practices” #champforkids
A3 I laugh a lot with the kids, listen to what they want to share, show them empathy, relationships are important. I will always give them my time if they need help 😀 #champforkids
A3: I bring a fresh take on learning to the students- they are my tech guinea pigs at times and love it...also I don't quit on anyone...students or colleagues #Champforkids
A3: Patience, empathy, and the ability to DIY everything -- all skills I can teach my students, and all skills that help me get a lot of work done in a small amount of time. #champforkids
#champforkids Thank you to all of the amazing Buddhist monks I have listened intently to and learned to meditate from-this calm has gotten me to slow down, pause, listen intently and truly pay attention to students, I hear a lot from my students “you really get me, understand me”
A3: my strengths help me make strong connections with my students and colleagues which leads to strong relationships. Strong relationships are vital in education!
#champforkids
So grateful we got to connect -- no matter how brief over teacher coverage...STAAR, etc. Hope to continue connecting on a deeper level this year! #champforkids#JRErocks
#champforkids Passion and creativity are key. I will not stop until I find a solution that works for Ss or even one S. And I'm not limited to in-the-box thinking. I usually don't even know where the box is....or care where it is, for that matter.
A3: I listen and really get to know my students. This allows me to build relationships with them. We work through the challenges and have fun celebrating the victories. #ChampForKids
A3 I'm passionate about encouraging Ss to be the best person they can be. I acknowledge their greatness instead of focusing on what's not working. They receive my feedback because of the relationship that we have built. #champforkids
Problem in the education of teachers is we spend so much time telling teachers how to do things and not enough time having them explore what works for them #champforkids
A3: A few years ago, our small school went through a financial crisis. Our staff was cut to a skeleton crew, teachers took a voluntary wage freeze for 3 years, and our town was in danger of losing our school-my hometown school. to be cont... #champforkids
#champforkids A3 I am relentless ..in building relationships with kids and families. I always try to understand behavior before modifying it. I model the kind of behavior/communication I want from my kids.
A3 #champforkids I am not in the classroom to teach them science- but to teach them how to teach themselves science- how can I do that? Finding the resolve to remain silent and let them lead- this mindfulness strengthens relationships and builds. Safe, respectful, calm classroom
A3- Patience and empathy let me see behaviour through a compassionate lens & patience means that my Ss can count on me to stay calm even when they're not. #champforkids
A3: I relate to the ss. I laugh with them. I play with them and learn with them. I find their silly antics entertaining. And in the silliness, we all relax and learn. #champforkids
A3: As a K-5 instructional coordinator, I work with educators for various student concerns. I will always remember what it is like to be in the classroom, be thankful for what Ts do daily, and foster hope for S progress. #champforkids
A3~my humility & humanness are relatable to bigs&littles & this helps me to speak with & advocate for our Ss & their families with authenticity & a big ☘️ heart ❤️
#champforkids
A3 - I just find that being positive, empathetic, passionate, etc.. helps teens to enjoy having me as a teacher. They feel I’m real and that I do actually care about them. Which is true! Not complicated at all. Love kids, they love you back. #champforkids
A3: My hope is that they allow others to trust me and know that I know what I’m talking about when it comes to my content. I want to be sure I’m providing high quality education to my Ss! #champforkids
A2: Here goes - trying to write about my own stengths...
Organized
Dependable
Perserverence - outside of my college professor
Can see big picture to litte and back to big.
Loving
#ChampForKids
A3: I relate to the ss. I laugh with them. I play with them and learn with them. I find their silly antics entertaining. And in the silliness, we all relax and learn. #champforkids
A3
💪Passion provides me with a fire to go ALL IN everyday.
💪Innovative, Creative&Problem solving go hand in hand to provide a one-of-a-kind, authentic learning experience.
💪Seeing the best in people allows me to love even the most difficult kids and staff deeply.
#champforkids
A3: I don’t know if I can call myself amazing yet-since I am going into my 2nd year. I will say that my strengths were certainly huge for me during my 1st year especially the life- long learner as my students taught me a lot. I can only improve from here on out. 😊#champforkids
A4 My OneWord this year was TRY. I'll also go with "Let's see what happens" and "Figure It Out." Everything is possible. "Let's see what happens" is super scary but SO FUN: Submit Proposal? LSWH. Publish? LSWH. Apply? LSWH. No tests or HW all year? LSWH. #champforkids
A3: Kids today need to feel loved and know they count. I'll do #whateverittakes to help a kiddo know there is always a place for them to have a positive empact on others. I don't quite. I always say I will outlast Ss resistance so they will see a better day. #ChampForKids
I think growing up with Dyslexia helps me understand the needs of my students and being bullied- has brought an awareness an empathy to my personality #champforkids
A4: I will remind myself to "get on the balcony" more. The more I step back and assess progress, it reminds me of what has been accomplished and minimizes the impact doubt creates #champforkids
A4 - This year when self-doubt creeps in I will breathe, and remind myself to attack every task with an open mind and heart.
I am enough and I can do anything that I set my mind to.
#champforkids
A4: This year, I will continue to be positive and optimistic. I will also be determined to not allow doubt or fear to defeat me and the goals I have. I CAN do this. I WILL do this. #champforkids
A3: cont... We needed to be dedicated and committed to our kids. They still deserved the best education. I helped organize a PTO raffle to kick off a fundraising campaign. Our raffle was the first $50,000 of $500,000 raised to save our school. #champforkids
A2: Perpetual relationship builder, desire to learn/grow continually, determination to do best I can for those in my sphere of influence, genuine, and passionate. #champforkids
A4: just remember that I have people who believe in me and are there to help me! I have confidence knowing that I can ask questions and ask for help from so many great people.
#champforkids
A3: working in SPED for the last 24 yrs I have to be organized, see the big pic to small and back, be dependable, perserver through the hard times and always love my students. Plus my work - I can't really imagine anthing other than SPED. #champforkids
A4: that not everyone has to like or appreciate me, but to one ss, I could make their day with talking avout chocolate cake. Like this one right here.... I ate this on Saturday... #champforkids
A4: Positive self-talk. It’s funny because this is something I teach my students using our social-emotional curriculum we have and use. I need to follow my own advice. #champforkids
#champforkids A3. I love kids and I always want them to learn and succeed. I listen more now and my persistence helps when there might be obstacles to face. We need to support each other and lift each other up!
A4: I always end up asking someone directly, "Can you just tell me that I can do it please?" Sometimes a little reassurance goes a long way. The kids need to be reassured - why can't we have it too? #champforkids
A4 contd Surrounding yourself with positive people, spending time in nature, taking time for rest help on the prevention front with such issues I’ve found #champforkids
A3:
I am empathetic and feel with ppl instead of trying to put myself in their shoes.
I am a good listener. I listen to understand and hold off judgement until I do.
I have good emotional intelligence.
#champforkids#Path2Serendipity
A4 Self doubt is out the window! I’m focused, locked, and ready to see our Ss and Ts be successful! I’m prepared to support them and help our district move forward! #champforkids
The "undo" button got me, too: "Well, let's just try this and see what... OOPS! Nope. Undo. Ok let's try this and see... Wait! Nope. Undo." #champforkids
When I started teaching I had an Admin ask me if I read Wang and I laughed ... I thought they were pulling my leg ... sorry I have a middle schooler sense of humor #ChampforKids
Thank you @khoggardGRT for another inspiring #champforkids chat and especially for your friendship. Thank you for helping me to see, what sometimes I can't see in myself.
A4 Let's change the "im" in impossible to "I'm". I'mpossible!!! It is in the word. No matter what there is a way to accomplish what needs to be done. #champforkids
YES, YES, YES! This is the whole point of our #champforkids chat! To talk with our fam and get yourself ready to face whatever may come your way! BOOM! Here we go! #champforkids
A4 Self doubt is out the window! I’m focused, locked, and ready to see our Ss and Ts be successful! I’m prepared to support them and help our district move forward! #champforkids
#champforkids Honestly, twitter is my balm for self-doubt. You folks make me feel like a rock-star.
And my Ss. My classroom is my garden and my fortress.
#champforkids CPMRLT I repeat this frequently throughout the day- it keeps me calm, focused, centered- when I feel balanced I can jump head first into any situation- CALM, Patience, Mindfulness, Respond not react, Listen intently, Think before you speak- it is all about the pause
A4 - This year when self-doubt creeps in I will breathe, and remind myself to attack every task with an open mind and heart.
I am enough and I can do anything that I set my mind to.
#champforkids
A4: I have learned that it is okay to take time for me . I have been reading books-both professional and for fun. I will lean on my supportive colleagues. Also will refer to "Path of Serendipity." @AllysonApsey does a great job of talking you down. #champforkids
A4- When I struggle, I look back at class pictures. I just need a few minutes of looking at their smiles to remind me that we're on the right path. It's my own head that steers me astray- those kids can always bring me back. #champforkids
A4 - keep with my one word RESTORE - the new one will find me later. Know that I am strong enough and can do it. Come back to my wonderful PLN family for support. #ChampForKids

A4- I have been on a Vanilla Ice kick recently. That being said, my mantra will be:
"ANYTHING LESS THAN YOUR BEST IS A FELONY."
When we are feeling defeated or lack self-confidence we tend to do just enough to get by. My Ss deserve 110% EVERYDAY. ALL IN EVERYDAY. #champforkids
A4b - Huge believer in choices we make. Here are some.
* choose to be happy
* choose to smile
* choose to laugh with kids
* choose to be kind
* choose to help others
* choose to get with PLN
* choose to make a student’s day better.
* choose to love my job. #champforkids
A4 Here we go! I’ve been channeling Mario the last couple of years and I think it’s still on top! I’m going to a new school, so I just want to be open to the new experiences and keep handling business! Perspective and time are important to keep in mind. #champforkids
Everything we do is activity based ... i do work stations so as the kids work I circulate ... talk to the kids ... ask questions, look over their shoulder ... push kids to think. End result ... they complete the activity meeting learning goals #champforkids
Wait...it's over?! @jenchitmon thank you for inviting me to this very encouraging #PLN and thank you @khoggardGRT for facilitating time for us to reflect and be reminded that we are enough just the way we are! And we have the capacity to rise above to be a #champforkids
A4 In trying situations the theme song from Frozen always runs in my head "Let it Go". Mostly it works 😀 The funny thing is I've never seen the movie just commercials with that song playing, it stuck 😂😂 #champforkids
A4 #champforkids As a Dyslexic child- the world was noisy and disruptive, discombobulating in fact- that pause, tuning out of sound & chaos this is what I had to do to make sense of things. I still do this- silence the room in my head and just observe
A3. I creatively motivate my kids. I ❤️ each of them whether they have me as a teacher or not- whether they had me last year or 10 yrs ago! I will fight 4 them no matter what! They ❤️ tech and hit it out of the park always wanting more! They are empowered! #ChampforKids
Ha! I sing that often too! Always works- usually by just making me burst out laughing and I can always count on a few Ss covering their ears which makes it even better! #champforkids
Each morning I shout out loud to the universe 3 things for which I am grateful. I bring my authentic self to my students every day. They will remember how I made them feel more than they will ever remember a lesson I taught them. #champforkids
For whatever reason, when Im in the classroom ... in an Ed meeting, I don't have self doubt ... i think much of that is because of the knowledge i have gained through my #PLN and having been canned b4 I'm like what are they going to do fire me? Been there done that. #champforkids
@CristinaDajero and I have two major rules in our office the Elsa Rule and the Rule of 1%... they usually help us get out of our funk and get back to business! #champforkids

#ChampForKids I make up little songs when I am frustrated- I sing out my stress- I believe in the I am not angry but anger has entered- so it can exit too and 🎼🎶 helps me release it
A4- my mantra is Define Success!!! How do you define success... for you, your students, our students, our families and or school!! Just had new entrance matts made up with the school name and underneath the name it says Define Success Today! #champforkids
Every year I start a new 'Treasure' binder in the class so I can keep them all together. The Ss love looking back at them and it shows them how much I care about each one #champforkids
When I saw the movie, I started crying so hard at that song because it hit me that I needed to do that with a lot of things that were holding me back. I know it is an earworm, but I love it anyway! #champforkids

A4- I have been on a Vanilla Ice kick recently. That being said, my mantra will be:
"ANYTHING LESS THAN YOUR BEST IS A FELONY."

I love it! The words are powerful! We should do a song lyric analysis with kids. If they weren't thinking about the song as a part of the movie, I wonder what connections they would make #champforkids
