A2 Understanding that collaboration is not just checking a box that we have a meeting at a certain time

You start w/people who WANT to collaborate and build from their success. Forcing the issue is not usually successful.

Q3 When starting T.C. model, you go through the stages of Forming, Storming, norming & performing? What stage is your school? Why
-
Hi Chris! This is a great chat!
-
-
-
-
A3: Don't think I can make a blanket statement. See evidence of all 4 stages
-
A3: Teams are in different places. Most are norming and performing. It's a tricky dance.
-
A3: I see us on a fluid learning continuum...less about a linear trajectory...but moving forward. 😊
-
Seeing lots of improvement. Energized by a common cause (student success) and new teachers bringing energy
-
A3: each grade lvl is at a diff. stage. one is at performing. others are at each stage. We have differentiated

Q3 When starting T.C. model, you go through the stages of Forming, Storming, norming & performing? What stage is your school? Why

A3: I think the topic changes the stage as well.
-
“: A3: Teams are in different places. Most are norming and performing. It's a tricky dance. ”sometimes diff. On diff days
-
A3 I think every team is in a different place - depends on T movement, experiences, history, etc! I feel we're making great progress

“: A3: I think the topic changes the stage as well. ” So true.

Q5 If teaching and collaboration is a team sport, what sport would it be & why?
-
-
-
A5: Volleyball: You need more than 1 person to get the ball over the net successfully.
-
A5: Lacrosse. Passing and running, offense and defense, trying to get the ball in the net.
-
A great collaborative activity to build teamwork is to do just that. Get out play VB to demonstrate that to Ss
-
A5: Ultimate frisbee! Long passes (hail mary's!) rarely work - you have to methodically play the "short game" to get to the endzone!
-
A5 Basketball. Lots of passing, take turns shooting, lots of running, sure does make you tired!
-
A5: Soccer ballet! It takes a team with well coordinated moves. Being graceful can be beneficial. Besides, I like team tutus.
-
A5: Synchronized skating or swimming...must build trusting relationships and work together, 'push' each other to be successful.
-
We've been doing boxes w/Ss to stress teamwork & collaboration - many surprises for all.
