A1: I love GooseChase! It is a scavenger hunt type app that you can make your own. Ss can video, write, or take photos of their answers to the questions you create. #ycsdchat
A1: Favorite app in general or favorite educational app? In general, probably YouTube because I can access audiobook and various forms of entertainment, but for education, Sparknotes because it feels like I can speed read read a whole library. #ycsdchat
A1: I love Class Dojo as far as a communication app especially the portfolio feature and that parents serving overseas get to see how their child doing/what they are up to. Night Zookeeper/Osmo apps are up there too. #ycsdchat
A1: I visited Mrs Allen’s class at GMS last week and they were using the expeditions app and doing virtual reality. It was awesome! Great features for VR lessons #ycsdchat
A2: @quizizz for ALL subjects! I use them as study guides for upcoming tests. Do the study guide as many times as you need to in order to be ready. New "study" option helps teach study skills too #ycsdchat
A2: Since I don’t teach any of those subject areas mainly, I use some organizational apps like team shake to build groups and then an app called FitBreak for different activity ideas. I also use Tabata timers. #ycsdchat
A2: Writing-Night Zookeeper
Math- Moose Math/Dash Robot App
Science- ChatterPix/Brain Pop
Social Studies: Youtube to show videos of other countries/Google Earth #ycsdchat
A2 - Definitely Green Screen by DOINK, especially SS, S & Literacy! Book reviews, severe weather, you name it brings projects alive! And so easy to use!! #ycsdchat#engageycsd
A2: I really like Teams and OneNote. I use Teams for my writing assignments, and I use OneNote as a resource for home. My notebook houses copies of all the notes from class for students and parents to access. #ycsdchat
A2: it’s like you can’t type your response fast enough...I just used @Flipgrid with my 1920s BreakIn and want to incorporate it more as a quick formative assessment in all of my units. #ycsdchat
A2: Reading: Audible and Sparknotes
Writing: Google Translate
Social Studies: YouTube, basically any map or trivia app
Science: Sky Safari, and there was one point where I had an app that helped me with the periodic table of elements, but it became obsolete 😭#ycsdchat
A2: I love @EpicKidsBooks for reading. @GetKahoot for lessons and fun assessments in class. I'm dipping my toes in the water with green screen using @DoInkTweets this year too. #ycsdchat
As a parent of a second grader I love prodigy because of the reports I get and she can play it at home (or while waiting for mom after school lol) #ycsdchat
A2: Part 2 - special shout out to https://t.co/vN7zxO94GL’s app. I have to read with a dictionary, and often times write with a thesaurus because vocabulary is something I struggle with from time to time, and I know a lot of bilingual students feel the same way. #ycsdchat
Love shark tracker and so does a 7 year old I know...we go through where they were, where they are, which one is the largest, etc. He's gaining geography and science knowledge and skills #ycsdchat
A3: This year the biggest game-changer in my class has been @Edulastic. It has made my life as a teacher so much easier. No copies to make, instant data, student can retake easily if needed, and just the variety of questions available and possible for you to make. #ycsdchat
A3: my go to apps for communication tend to be social media apps (e.g., Facebook), but I also really like foreign language apps. Some of my favorites are MyWords, which helped with foreign phrases, and Sign 4 Me, which is good for ASL vocabulary, but not grammar. #ycsdchat
A3: I used @ClassDojo most for their "Class Story" feature and posted status updates regularly for assignments, upcoming assessments, and fun things happening in class #ycsdchat

A3: another management tool is Forms - used it as a classroom sign out method to keep data on who was out of class most often - was VERY useful in parent conferences #ycsdchat

Love forms--I use it for both Do Nows and Exit slips--I can ask open ended questions, have Ss analyze paintings/photgraphs, etc. to check their thinking and understanding about a topic #ycsdchat
A3 (or really A2) @edpuzzle is the app I use a lot recently too. I love people able to give students another way to see or hear concepts and the built in questions to check for understanding are clutch! #ycsdchat
I know we usually keep our chats to Wed nights but I would love for people to post insights during the week if they try an app they learn about tonight #ycsdchat
A3: Most of the time I see it in action when I go to conferences or watch it be used by other people. I also will try them on my Ss to see if they like it or not. Ease of use is also something to consider as well. #ycsdchat
A4: I usually look at reviews from various educator websites and will ask teachers on a FB forum if they have used it themselves in their classrooms. #ycsdchat
Q4: Honestly, I go by price and recommendations. I’ll try anything if it’s free, especially if it’s a product of something I already use. If I have to pay, I’ll first read reviews or go by what a colleague recommends. There are many apps that can serve the same purpose. #ycsdchat
A4: For myself, I like to read the reviews and look for specific comments about uses or weaknesses. In the classroom, I usually see someone else use it or hear about it from someone else #ycsdchat

A4: I'm the worst at this! I download tons of apps, play around with them, and if they aren't user friendly or what am I'm looking for, then I delete it. #ycsdchat
I love Twitter for my own PLN and just started using it with Ss to help them grow their own and see the power of collaboration when we were reviewing for midterms--created my own #WHIIisBallin and offered extra credit for posting memes/gifs related to content studied. #ycsdchat

Maybe on a basic level in regards to Ss using a tool to research and then they create Google slides to create something...I need to advance my app smashing for lessons after checking this out https://t.co/enn0lekr6F#ycsdchat
A5: I can't think of a specific example of app smashing, but based on the answer google just gave me about what it is, I feel like I'm constantly using several apps for one goal - I think we do this without realizing it #ycsdchat
