A2: Just finished #HiveSummit. The one technique that I found to be the most intriguing was #gamification. With a new teaching partner this year, I might be willing to put some of the wisdom of @mrmatera into action. Feeling...inspired! #cuechat
A3: For me, the #ditchsummit model was the perfect summer PD. Got me thinking about using a similar model in the classroom with my middle schoolers creating tutorials for the elementary students. #CUEchat

A3: My best learning over the summer is taking a self paced online women leadership course& certification through Cornell U. I complete modules each week, interact with/ global community, and when it fits my schedule, so great happy work- life-family balance. #cuechat
A3 (Look I did it!) Most of my learning this summer was driven by my interests and passion. I loved the Ed Camp-style breakout sessions at #CueLDI2018 because of the opportunity to interact from a position of necessity & interest. That’s when I learn the most...kids too #cuechat

A3: I connected with the experts every day, in real life, via Twitter chats, or virtual summits. I need to provide the same opportunities for students network and grow as learners. We need to tear down the walls and get students conversing face to face more frequently. #cuechat
My first large Edcamp experience was the #BetterTogetherCA summit last year and #Edcampyo, in a course I teach the students participate with in-class edcamps. I am a firm believer in the edcamp model. #CUEchat#CUERockstar#WeAreCUE

For me, it’s about trying to not only change entrenched behaviors, but really deepen my reflections upon my assumptions and mental models that can trap me in status quo ways of working, doing, and thinking. #CUEchat

Not only in letting go of practices, but being more aware of the societal shifts which are accelerating the speed of change and disrupting the future and the world our students are walking out into. Without awareness, how do we effectively prepare them for that future? #CUEchat
#CUEchat A5a Not being a K-12 teacher I don’t have textbooks.. all the broadcast video I produce is online. For my own PD I started buying Kindles only after #EdCampWestTexas in ’13. First title, Teach Like A Pirate; I love having the resource at the moment of need.
