#PPL1chat connects educators together to engage in conversation and share resources related to personalized professional learning. The chat encourages educators to prioritize their own growth and occurs the first of each month from 8:00-9:00 pm ET.
Excited to collaborate with all of you! Allie Rodman - Professional Learning Designer/Facilitator and School Board Member from NJ. My #OneWord2019 is "focus" - on big dreams, the people I love, and every possible opportunity to grow. #PPL1chat
A1: My #OneWord2019 is "focus." I hope it pushes me to not only sample lots of new experiences as a learner but also go deep into the areas I am most passionate about. I want to focus on time for meaningful conversations with thought partners who help me grow. #PPL1chat
A1: Happy New Year everyone! My name is Kristen and I am a K-8 Reading Specialist and literacy teacher leader in Philadelphia. My word for 2019 would be GROWTH as I would like to continue to grow professionally and reach some goals but also grow personally in some areas #PPL1chat
A1: While I like the feeling of starting fresh each year, I'm not one to make resolutions. Each day is a chance to do better, focus more & push myself to learn what I can-ends up meaning there aren't enough hours for all my "projects"! I do have a new planner though! #PPL1chat
A2: I am excited to read Weekend Language, The Art of Gathering, When: The Science of Perfect Timing, Running Lean, and Educated: A Memoir. It may be too ambitious, but I am trying to read one book every other week. #PPL1chat
A2: I'm excited to read more about things that outside my wheelhouse, like business & org management/dev. Took a bunch of pics @BNBuzz the other day! Already reading The Nerdy Living - good stuff! And of course @FLOTUS44. However will stay on top of my @ASCD reads too! #PPL1chat
A2: I am looking forward to read The Hate U Give with the intent to consider it as a book for student study. I have a Duncan-Andrade book a few other ASCD titles set aside too! #PPL1chat
I knew you would be able to relate! Focus is perfect. I've already got my plan for that. Filter my day to manageable bits rather than overwhelm myself and get nothing accomplished! #PPL1chat
A1: “Embrace” would be my word for 2019. As I near my decade in the field it’s hard not to feel like I’ve experienced so much, and therefore know so much. I want to embrace new experiences, new ideas, and new aspects of the professor that push and challenge me.#PPL1chat
A3: There is a 1 day conference in Cherry Hill, NJ on RTI programs and how interventions are/aren’t working at your school that I plan to attend. Always looking! #PPL1chat
A4: I am excited to continue hosting @Twitter#PPL1chat on the 1st of each month, collaborate on @Voxer with my #PLN, and design a @Flipgrid collaboration space for my @ASCD book due out in May. I would love some new podcast recs to keep me learning while in transit.
A4: As apart of my growth goal, participation in Twitter chats is one of my top priorities this year! I am in need of some suggestions besides the larger chats such as #edchat. #PPL1chat
A5: The first steps I am taking as a learner this week include setting up a new @ErinCondren project planner, sketching out blog topics for the next couple months, and diving head first into Weekend Language as I finish prepping for an upcoming keynote. #PPL1chat
A5: Already doing - this chat! Also opening up the new planner and scheduling in priorities. Already reading a new book that I started on the long flights back from the NE. Excited to build in those ideas (video included!) #PPL1chat
A3: I attended the NCSS 2018 conference in Chicago and it blew my mind. I’d love to be able to go it again in 2019. The Annual AP conference is always one I’m interested in. I’d love to hit some larger national teaching conferences, like ASCD and would love suggestions. #PPL1chat
A5: I am going to write in Twitter chats into my planner, and start exploring the best platforms for starting a blog. I have 1 blog post on ASCD’s interface but want to try to create my own. #PPL1chat
This one right now. Parts of this fit into my projects (blogging, podcasting & writing in particular). And dude's writing style & humor have me cracked up. #PPL1chathttps://t.co/tlmlKGXwzI
A6: Really just more focused! Hahaha! I've enjoyed the books read, courses taken & conversations in 2018 so I'll continue. Lots of great learning on @coursera. Also signed up for @NatGeoEducation cohort group with @jasinska that starts this month! #PPL1chat#Amostforgot
A6: If time and resources were not a barrier, I would try to partner with @JDuncanAndrade to build a Roses from Concrete school in Philadelphia. A little ambitious... #PPL1chat
