Welcome to The 12 Days of #BCEdChat. This is the last chat of 2017. We'll be asking 12 questions, rather than the usual 8. Hang on for a fast #BCEdChat tonight!
I'm so ready for this. 12 questions on the 12 days of #bcedchat CHAT. It will go fast...
Christine from the Sunshine Coast. Math educator, sessional instructor, and school trustee. Let's go!
I like your attitude. Hi @tracycramer. BRING IT. #bcedchat I'm going to plan a visit soon... got lots of things off my plate... now I'm ready to check out the Okanagan!!! #youvebeenwarned
Ian - educating in BCs Shuswap looking forward to tonight’s 12 days of #bcedchat (had my own 12 pains blog a couple days ago - but no RCs because I choose the efolio life!)

A1. Day 1: Friday I took little to the doc, she's not feeling well. Day 2: Sat. I called the emergency pediatric dentist when little broke her tooth in half. Of and did lunch w @MsVictoriaOlson. Day 3 today, took little to see Santa. #bcedchat.
A1 day one (Saturday) will be watching some classics that have been adding up on the pvr and putting some puzzles (maybe only one...😇) and being a consumer...not creator for a bit...! #bcedchat
A2 making some choices to stay active and meet my step-count goal (my son is looking forward to some snowy walks) and reading for work and for fun! Maybe even do some writing..... #bcedchat
I used to LOVE going to the city malls on the last days of Christmas panic - one year I even deliberately chose to wait to the last day to do my shopping! (Had to experience it once!) #bcedchat
I walk through with Starbucks in hand, laughing at all the frantic shoppers. All while shaking my head, thinking they should learn the art of online shopping. #bcedchat
A3: I’m going to see my parents and my sisters and my nephew! (And my grandmas and my uncles and aunts and cousins) - I know it’s more than three, but I’m so excited to be heading back for Christmas. #bcedchat
No lines...I do ALL my shopping online. Except for silly stocking gifts, which are bought in store in November. I simply enjoy watching the chaos. #bcedchat
A3 my niece who is applying for Ed programs and hopefully a couple people who are in the lower mainland and need an escape on the couple days after Christmas....! #bcedchat
We're heading elsewhere. It should be good. I'm just following along. Even better. No A-type planning required by me. PURE RELAXATION. Can't wait. #bcedchat
That's rough @CraigMah ... I can't control the ferries... and well, I was super lame that day. Totally dropped the ball on that one. But, sounds like a super idea. #bcedchat
We are doing our yearly Christmas Day drive (with 7-11 slurpees) then staying with the outlaws for a couple days - until the sleeping conditions or road report says it’s time to go home #bcedchat
#bcedchat Looks like people are starting to get into the holiday spirit a week early! Not that there is a thing wrong with this.
Sorry, I'm late catching up as quick as I can.
A4. #1 Ginger crinkles. #2 chocolate chip cookies. #3 shortbread #4 oat fudge bars. The list can keep going, it's all about baked goods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. #bcedchat
Awe. Thanks @perfinker ... RIGHT BACK AT YOU. This year has been amazing and a turning point. YES, I will be able to do that. Got most things off my plate before departure. FEELS GREAT!!! #bcedchat
#bcedchat A4: This is an easy one: my sister's chocolates but there are 48 of them, sitting out ALL DAY. Also too many sugary drinks but the rest is all good.
(The chocolates are fantastic!)
Love what you do with your students around artistry and skill. Their work inspires me and that reflects their teacher (I have the lion king up in my office, still). #bcedchat

A5: @perfinker and @KylaCameron for encouraging me to keep sharing what I do with others, @jnovakowski38 for doing @EdCampBCCC with me. Then to everyone who shares so much online that inspires me. I can't even begin to name you all!! #bcedchat
#bcedchat A2: Cooking with my daughter and reading a series of novels in verse (prep, but fun prep). Recently subscribed to @HelloFreshCA so enjoying cooking new recipes. That’s my down time. Oh, and wine 🍷😉
A6. in the morning.."Can't you just let mommy sleep in till 7am?" & "Awe". In the evening.. "Can I skip the turkey and just go for the baking?" Along with..."this has been a long week....is it time for bed? And do we really need to get together tomorrow?" #bcedchat
Q6: 6 am- Excited for the scavenger hunt
6 pm- Presents put away. Check. Tree cleaned up and outside. Check. All evidence of Christmas gone. Check.
#bcedchat
#bcedchat #6.2 I also forgot to mention my earjacks would be in to not disturb the rest of the house while music of the season continually reminds me of the reason for the season!
Thats my job...pushing people to do great things and be the best they can and show the world how awesome they are...you were freaking AH MAY ZING!!! #bcedchat & @ChristineYH was pretty great too!

I believe I have a moral responsibility to remind all in #twitterland and #bcedchat tonight that @nathan_stevens is an amazing educator and one that does not receive bribes from me in any way.
Enjoy the chat tonight, fun list of questions. I was editing my #twitteredu book earlier, I give a nice hat tip to #bcedchat
My resolution is to have it out before 2018!

A7 The Crown is at the top of my binge watching list. It's the only thing on my list - so I am curious to see what others share. One of the reasons I am not a huge Netflix fan? It takes too long to find something to watch! Hahaha.
#bcedchat
#bcedchat At our house we must all "spring" --yes "spring" out of bed and dance around the house to "Mary's Boy Child". Gotta love traditions. This is a lot to ask of people at 630 AM.
#bcedchat A7: I should have printed out the Qs! We'll see flashy big screen epics like Star Wars etc. , I'll read leisurely in sci-fi-fantasy; hopefully write a poem or two; seems like Christmas movies have already been on for a month; do Bowl games & the world hockey count?
A7 Tackling the #TBR pile. The most important will be The Magic Misfits by N Patrick Harris for my Twitter chat. And then a whole bunch of YA #bookaday#bcedchat
Alright, trying to keep up with this chat is too much for my head… Going to bow out early. Have a great last week of school everyone! Happy holidays and hope to see you in the new year at @EdCampBCCC! #bcedchat

A3: Hope to connect with @SarahELoat@michellehikida over the holidays - even though we teach in the same district, we hardly ever see each other. And spend more time with my husband - work keeps us busy during the school year! #bcedchat

#bcedchat A9: Resilient: but my best stuff comes from Reflective which always leads to Thankful & a desire to continue to pay 'it' forward & to make our world continually better in anything that I do.
A4: Lots of sweets. New recipes I will be trying inspired by the Great Canadian Baking Show are Fondant Fancies, Opera Cake and Christmas Pavlova and inspired by @Barkerjbarker - tiger butter. That's 4, trying to stay true to the 12 Days challenge! #bcedchat
A8 always try to be empathic this time of year to relax and try to put myself in the other drivers seatbelt (and wonder why in the world they would _____) #bcedchat
Sorry for my tardiness! Back in from a road trip to the far north (Fox Lake, AB) and the east (Oshkosh, WI). Loving the responses to this chat! #bcedchat

Agreed. I love being reflective but that's not what I need to work on. I need to start looking forward... and network... with people like YOU Fred. LOL. #bcedchat

Q9: The 9th day of the holidays for most of us will be Dec. 31st. Name one professional New Year’s Edu-resolution and one personal resolution. #bcedchat
#bcedchat A9 <-- for real this time:
I don't do resolutions, I have goals all the time. My goals are to bring more of the outside into my lessons; I also have goals for our Richmond/Delta CARP chapter; our bible study; relationships & organization, down-sizing of house & home
A9: Professionally, I'd like to write more. Personally, I'd like to run more. Used to run lots of half marathons. Now I run around in circles! :) #bcedchat
Q10: On a scale of 1 to 10, (1 being unlikely and 10 being most likely) what’s the likelihood that you’ll be thinking of ideas for your class during the holidays? #bcedchat

Yep. Enjoyed both. Thought the movie did great work on the secondary characters and did the book justice! #bcedchat took my class / they all enjoyed it too
The edu-think never stops. But no ideas for my class... I don't have one starting in the new year. I'm always thinking EDUCATION. Ask my husband. #bcedchat@brynmw@CraigMah
So you'll stay off twitter where many of your lessons (and classes) are taught (and learned)? You are always playing with your 'lessons'; just not in traditional classrooms. #bcedchat
A11 we get Christmas Day slurpees for the car drive to family....but I have had to get some stocking stuffer candys from them the night before as well.... #bcedchat
True. But I am always reflecting. There's no off switch on that. However, I don't want to be looking back and that's it. You're right, reflect to move forward. #bcedchat

Looking forward to the one on Target-based grading. Behaviour books (and supporting all our learners is so on my mind right now). Especially around SEL and supporting families.
#bcedchat
Running out of time on #bcedchat - 12 questions is a lot - looking forward to reading the feed - wishing everyone a restful break full of time with family and friends. And join us at @EdCampBCCC on January 13!
