#K12ArtChat is an #ArtsEd chat that happens every Thurs 8:30 pm CST founded by #TeamGrundler @ArtGuy76 & @GrundlerArt & share Ss' art on Fridays via #FabArtsFri.
A1. We usually take proper, well defined breaks on the weekend. On weekdays, we are simply sharing what we learn this summer and have learnt in the past in the form of our articles! #k12ArtChat
Yes - this! I find that it's super important to set aside dedicated time for rest and fun. No work on the weekends or after 5. In the summer, I end the day at 1PM. Forces me to be efficient. #K12ArtChat
A1: I have been keeping a crazy hectic schedule. I have done major revamps to my responsibilities and taking time out to create & immerse myself in art- which will move mountains to revive my batteries & fill my bucket! #K12ArtChat
A1, I try to get all Pd out of the way immediately, then I chaperone my church kids at church camp & this year we’re retreating to our river camp for a week- no cell service or tv! Hubs plays a lot of music & I art ❤️#k12ArtChat
A1: Also, the luxury of spending a solid block of time creating is just something we don't get during the school year. Gonna treasure that! #K12ArtChat
A2: I'm excited to learn more about different and new ways to provide PD for adults. Going to a few conferences to see what else is out there outside of education that I can bring back. #K12ArtChat
A2: to find a few more inspirations for printmaking! (Teaching some Middle school summer program) Any suggestions #MiddleSchool friends? #K12ArtChat@NAEAMiddleLevel
I'm pumped. I think there's so many other ways that people present info compared to how we do it in schools. I'm going to some business conferences and a medical mastermind of all things. Pushing that comfort zone! #K12ArtChat
A2: Gosh hard question! There are many but #1 revolves around the fact I take over as President of @KansasAEA next week so some of my learning goals surround that role & working to help create the best PD possible to help art educators in my state. #K12ArtChat#KSArtEd
A2. Our summer learning goal is to explore strategies that haven't been discovered before through stories from teachers and professionals, and understand how we can apply those to a classroom! #k12ArtChat
A2: Right now I'm focused on working with principals on hiring and then I need to focus on new curriculum and providing PD opportunities for our teachers- so I'm not sure I have my goal nailed down right now #K12ArtChat
A2, my goal is to learn how to change up my room to promote Student curiosity & creativity. Personally I plan to work on prioritizing & planning a wedding! #k12ArtChat
Aaahhh!!! My BFA is in printmaking! What types of prints are you planning on doing? Sorry I get real geek happy when anyone says printmaking! 🙂 #k12artchat
A3 I do! I go to one next week then spend a week in July in SC for the @NAEA leadership conference! I am looking for a few more as well & have some on-line PD I am looking at. 🙂 #K12ArtChat
A2: I'll be moving to a new school and country. My goal is to learn about how I can incorporate the community and culture in my Art lessons. Also, will focus more on choice based Art. #K12ArtChat
A3. Absolutely! Our editor, @_armedwithabook, is working tirelessly to read more, write more, attend as many events and workshops as possible and build an educational portfolio. (1/2) #k12ArtChat
A3. Our promotions manager, @thesolothinker is working on articles for the publication & finding new writers from whom we can learn more and build our #PLN! (2/2) #k12ArtChat

A3 usually, I’m teaching and attending a robotic PD. This year planning to travel to Oklahoma to visit family. Art museums and learning on the way. #k12artchat
A4: I like to choose things that interest me or that will challenge me. it leads to new ideas. @GrundlerArt & I will be presenting separately for Education Closet July 19th (on-line conference) #K12ArtChat@susanrileyphoto
Guess I answered things a bit out of order but I think that Professional Learning is essential to my soul and I go where I think I can gain the most to help and share with our art staff #K12ArtChat
A4: Obviously I'm facilitating the EdCloset https://t.co/owLIFvLp2K event. But I'm also taking a watercolor class at our local community college. That's just for me! #K12ArtChat
A4 Some are required by work or professional duties- aside from those I look to what will inspire me & boost my creativity because I know when that is tapped I am, plain and simply, a better art educator. #K12ArtChat
Love love love your choice to incorporate your community! I am a steong believe in the power a community has on a student and the more they connect the more successful they will be. #k12ArtChat
Rather not say at the moment until I am actually there hehe (with all the visa requirements and all). 😬 Will defintly let everyone know. 😁 Thank you. #K12ArtChat
#k12ArtChat A5 over the last few years we have had a mix of options: floating PD where we select our own interests, necessary certifications, optional training provided by district administration.
A5: I know some districts are now moving to micro-credentials. Also, I have loving the FedEx Day concept of working on any project and then presenting it to the staff. #K12ArtChat

A3: Summer PDH is so much more enjoyable to me. It allows more creative freedom and brainstorming for the year and less pressure of ⏱I like using the @theartofed online conference. It offers variety and the after pass to access it all year along with the downloads. #k12artchat
A5, LoL- I think any hands on art Pd is winning! My district offers an incentive for doing 30 hours over the required 60. My week long Pd @ HSU is just like taking a college course & so fun because all of my art friends are there. #k12ArtChat
I have had the pleasure of attending Ed Closets PD - great quality- sorry just felt like giving a quick highly recommended review. 🙂 #k12ArtChat#KSArtEd

I love learning journals--I would love to make learning journals more artful and visual in a general elementary classroom! Do you have any advice or resources?! #k12artchat

A5 I approve PD points for our school. Twitter chats count as PD! Chats like #k12ArtChat who actively bring in educators knowledgeable in their field & have great questions that meet district goals are a great way to earn points while learning a ton feom your living room!
A6, part of my leadership is reading The Leader in Me, but I also have The Happy Teacher Habits & Art & Creativity in Reggio Emilia that I want to tackle. #k12ArtChat
A6. We are building a library of books through suggestions from educators, students and teachers all over the world. Everything in the library is on our list! Do you have something to add to it or want suggestions? Check it out! #k12ArtChathttps://t.co/RLxBNU8Cqd
I find all these notes I make at various conferences or read something that interests me, so I decided to put them in one place. Then I can use it all next year. I tape and glue things in, write, draw. It’s a place to incubate my ideas for teaching! #k12artchat
Bonus: I am illustrating two more childrens books & I am nearly finished with the one I wrote & illustrated and will be working on seeing if I can get it published #K12ArtChat
Bonus A, Art PD is a way we can learn from each other. We share our creative ideas & strategies, provide counseling services to one another , & we simply get each other’s weirdness. #k12ArtChat
I would LOVE that!! Please share your connections at #Path2Serendipity! If you haven't purchased your copy already, you can buy it through my website so I can send you a signed copy!! https://t.co/jCx9mqjWnR#k12ArtChat
#K12ArtChat Bonus...excited to start some art journals with my own kids. Drawing and writing about our gun adventures during the summer. Spending time with them is priceless...time goes by so fast!
A1: Give yourself time to reflect & learn something new. Every year is an opportunity to do something not done before. Enjoy the sunshine, family, & friends. #SharpenTheSaw#k12ArtChat
Thanks! I’m always thinking of new ways to to sketchbooks for Art 1&2. And thought: give them a choice of several broad themes and let them draw what ever pleases them. So I started writing themes down- face in a crowd , below the surface ..,,#k12artchat
A3: As an AP I’ve attended #TEPSA and come back with new ideas & recharged; Twitter PD, reading books. Super excited to attend @nextlevelgenius Summer Conference in July 🎉 #k12ArtChat
