Our chat will focus on the idea that we can lead and make positive change from any position in our school systems. Leadership is not about a title, it is a way of thinking and acting.

Steph Dill from Colorado. Culture is high on my plate this year, trying and wanting to help w/in my school. I think it is my more as to why ij am staying at the school another year. #leadlap
Majalise from Lincoln City, OR. I have MS students competing in the state Rubikβs Cube competition today, so Iβm going to change my emoji up a bit. π Go Tigers! #LeadLAP#LimitlessSchool
A1: We completed a full unit on collaboration at the beginning of the year, which included different ways to solve conflicts. So far we have reaped the benefits of dedicating a month just to this. #leadlap
A1: we removed limits on how many kids can earn monthly values awards and started dance party Friday lunches among other things like announcing birthdays and sharing pictures from the week on our new TV in the lobby #LeadLAP

A1: I think we have a great school culture - one way I think we keep it moving is to celebrate at each meeting both positives and fails! Culture of risk takers! #LeadLAP
A1: I have a video of me making a bet with students to solve a rubrics cube, under a minute, and blindfolded. School culture requires the same type of magic (story boarding and clever editiing)
#LeadLAP

A1: A brand new teacher thanked me the other for never making her feel like she should already know everything and that there was never a "dumb question". I was so moved by that. #LeadLAP
A1-We discussed what "culture" means. We then discussed how we want students, parents, families, and community members to feel in our school and classrooms. We worked together to create the list! Teamwork makes the dream work. #leadlap
A1: Instead of the routine Back to School Night, we made a video with our Ss with music, dancing, and did live science experiments. Best turnout I've ever seen! #LeadLAP
A1: We are basically a new school this year, with staff from all around the district... EX: Our 3rd grade team is made up from Ts from 4 diff. schools! So we have been focused on creating/building a positive staff culture by doing little things, like monthly "huddles". #LeadLAP
A1: One of our student leaders started a culture committee with a wide range of students representing different groups of Ss in our school. We now plan most assemblies around school-wide events and make athletics an equal part not sole purpose. #LimitlessSchool#LeadLAP
A1. We have a βBe The Changeβ program in which kids get recognized for the kind things that they do for each other, staff, and the school community as a whole. Weβve had the program in years past, but weβve really focused on growing it this year. #LeadLAP

A1: As a teacher I have been working to increase transparency in classrooms. Teachers should be welcoming of visitors as opposed to afraid of the consequences of bad observations. The more we see other teachers in action the more we evolve and improve #opendoorpolicy#LeadLAP
A1.b- We've focused more on giving students the opportunities to be leaders. Each student works with a team on a school-wide job. We have bi-weekly assemblies where students are leaders, we have leadership teams, and we discuss soft-skills more often. #leadlap

A1: our focus is on building deeper relationships - with students & staff. Community circles, school wide cooperative build, student leadership #LeadLAP
We are a 6-12 building. We flipped the physical location of MS and HS students and separated their schedules by a few minutes. It is a quieter, kinder, calmer place. Immediate improvement in culture for all people. #LeadLAP
A1: We have a memories jar in the lounge where teachers drop in great things that happen. At the end of the year we will have out the memories for teachers to share with kids! #leadlap

After school programs to help build stronger relationships with our students. Positive calls home from admin.
#leadLAP#LimitlessSchool
A1: We bring FUN and celebration in as much as possible. Family is huge too. The more they can be a part of the learning, the better it is for all of us. #leadlap
A2: I have a few being a school leader can be isolating - having people like @McMeenPrincipal to call or text - or grab breakfast with before school - is huge! #LeadLAP
A1b: I encouraged my team to invite families into our classrooms once a month, in the evening, for learning and laughing together. It has been amazing. #leadlap
One thing is Student of the Month. Teachers nominate a student, write specific things they did, I take their picture and itβs up in hallway. We then have a breakfast w/ pancakes and sausage, parents invited, tchr celebrates kid by reading blurb. #leadlap#LimitlessSchool
A1: I keep the focus on the positive such as ending each faculty meeting with having staff share positive things. We are a campus in school improvement so I also started by giving away basketball nets symbolizing cutting down our net to show my our coming success. #LeadLAP
A2: My work spouse is my real spouse @JWGilson we work across a parking lot from each other haha But if I was into many spouses (so weird) I would say my #curiositycrew my PLN is so amazing. #LeadLAP
A2: This is definitely @ryanssiemens my principal. He has been the best mentor anyone could ever ask for. He lets me try, supports me when I fail and celebrates with me when we do something awesome. We are a true team. #LeadLAP
So important. In your own community, do you know your neighborhood school's or your kids' school brand? Your district's brand? And if it exists, do you contribute to it? #k12prchat#LeadLAP
A2: @McMeenPrincipal is a great collaborative partner - we meet Monday to sketch out our two schools approach to backwards planning next year! #LeadLAP
A2: Within our office we have a grateful jar. We place celebrations in there each week and remind each other that there is always something to celebrate! Also, we focus on possible solutions. #LeadLap
A1- One of the greatest culture building things was my saying, βI will retool myself, inspire the teachers, and together engage the students and parents anew. The National Principals Conference was very helpful with a strand on school culture building. #LeadLAP
A2: They keep my going! Friends distract while peers help to keep thing in perspective. Venting is important! Thank you @RandyMuffley! Spouse keeps me grounded and helps to stay on track with the big picture and what is most important!! #leadLAP
A1: Our school has weekly morning workouts and dance recess. Also, it's very common in Israel to select a "value of the month" and give certificates signed by the principle to Ss who best acted by this value. #leadlap
A1: We greet students as they arrive, try to foster positive relationships during lunch, send a short newsletter to parents & create opportunities to interact with our staff on deeper & more authentic levels. #LeadLAP
A1. Iβm not in a school but Iβm very interested in improving our profession. I just released my first book to contribute to this effort. Learn more here: https://t.co/lhDjMZ9YWY#LeadLAP
Recently moved schools, so I donβt really have a work BFF, but my @jcpsforward#PLN keeps me going by continually pushing my limits and keeping me moving forward. #LEADLAP
Celebrate Chinese New Year with our Asian students. Allow students of color to lead morning prayer (Catholic school) during February and to address themes important to them #leadLAP
A1: we have done things like βEverest Enthusiastβ cards to have peers recognize good work of each other that we read at faculty meetings. But this feels like nibbling at the edges. Hoping we figure out our why - that will change culture. #leadLAP
A2: Haha. Love this question! Iβm thankful my best friend is also in education! She motivates me to be positive because SHE is positive! #LeadLAP@mrsrandijones
A2 I won't single out a work spouse but my school is definitely a family. We have disagreed but we share a common goal and care for one another. In this atmosphere we are all willing to talk and help, each other out. #LeadLAP
Q2-My "M" is a fellow AP in another building. She's my thinking partner. We attend conferences together, share books, and push one another. Just the other day she called with encouraging words. #leadlap
We also do dance party Friday. Students eat outside, we play music that they suggest (and okβd by us...π) and they eat and dance. Teachers come out and eat and dance with them. And the music is loud! #leadlap#LimitlessSchool
A2: @mrbgilson is my number 1. (awe) but in my building is an amazing grade 2 teacher who has energy for days and is always so positive. I know when I need a boost of goodness, I visit her. #LeadLAP
A2) My work spouses are members of my PLN around the country, and world, who I am connected to through Twitter and Voxer. They listen to my successes and challenges. #LeadLAP
Q2: I am definitely a polygamist when it comes to work spouses. I am blessed with many encouragers, thinkers, coaches, and caregivers that all help me set and keep the culture positive #leadlap
A2: Can I have 2 work spouses? My actual spouse, @dpapa77 works in the district. We constantly motivate & inspire each other. My other is the other vp, @vlnadler. She's my partner, mentor & friend. Couldn't do it w/out her! π #leadlap
A2- My current work spouse is my student teacher. Having a ST helps me constantly reevaluate what I do and why. When I see her experiment and try new things it lifts me up, too. #leadLAP
A2: being friends with my admin team allows us to get a feel for when we are happy, sad or even mad. We are beginning to understand how to support each person through those emotions. It is important to have that in a team. #LeadLAP
A2: Whitespace! Making time for reflection each day -- to celebrate growth & progress, to share new strategies, to make connections, and to refocus! #leadlap#LimitlessSchool
Great question! @jelnickphs is my work spouse and she is essential to my happiness. She always is the mirror I need. She sets me straight when I suffer from impostor syndrome, which is like all the time! #LeadLAP
A2. There are several passionate educators in my building who are invested in pushing themselves to do what is best for kids. My dearest ed friend is now at a different school than I am, but she really helped me to develop my beliefs in child-centered teaching. #leadLAP
A2: Have to say my work spouse and actual spouse are the same. @caylst is our district tech director and keeps me focused and motivated on doing my best & doing whatβs right. #LeadLAP
A2- My work best friends are my secretaries. They keep me laughing, are always encouraging me to keep doing what I'm doing, and always know when I need them. On bad days they get me back to my "Why." I can't thank them enough! #leadlap
A2: I have a couple of people at school who fall into this. They are always there with a smile and verbal greeting of "Hi Friend". Sometimes that is all it takes. #leadlap
A1-We discussed what "culture" means. We then discussed how we want students, parents, families, and community members to feel in our school and classrooms. We worked together to create the list! Teamwork makes the dream work. #leadlap
A2: My TOSA is my right hand. We share the same passion, truly see the staff and students as βoursβ and work tirelessly to know the students, meet their needs and then support the teachers who do the βheavy lifting.β #LeadLAP
A2: I am so fortunate that my AP & good friend @ColtonGrl31 gives me fantastic pep talks when I need it & reminds me not to be so far hard on myself :) #LeadLAP#LimitlessSchool
I'm married to my best friend who is also a principal! @RackleyNate is my rock. He supports my ideas, challenges my thinking, engages me in reflective discussions, plays devil's advocate, is my biggest cheerleader, & loves me at the end of every day! #blessed#LeadLAP
#LeadLAP A2 I learned from @burgessdave book to find a crew. There are 4 of us that have formed a trust circle to vent, learn and grow together. We always inspire each other to try new things and change things that can be better.
A2: itβs so important to find your people among your co-workers. The ones who build you up and support your goals. They let you vent but then help you come up with solutions. Stay away from the negative energy! Besides, we all need someone to sit by at PDβs! #leadlap
A2: My right hand listens and is soooo positive! She is the cheerleader for our campus and the reason why so many families choose our school. @nandaughdrill You Rock! #leadlap
A2: I have so many great colleagues. So grateful that we can laugh with each other and if needed at each other! We recognize we are all learning & there is space for mistakes and growth! #LeadLAP
A2: I have a colleague @brent_legault75 who is not at my school, but in my division who I talk to regularly for support. And of course @Principal68 who is my advice guru but not in my division! #LeadLAP
A2 My work wives, have to have 2 are my PLC at work, we cover everything, & 1 of us is always needing the other 2 to stay grounded any given day. They are my anchor to living to the fullest! Choosing joy & staying focused on kids, not negativity. #leadlap
A2 My work spouse would be my AP @paigethornhill and my PLN. I can go to them anytime and bounce ideas off of and @paigethornhill helps reign me in when it might be needed. π#LeadLAP
A great PLN makes a great βMβ! Twitter was amazing to build connections but adding @voxer takes the connections to another level! Appreciate my PLN every day! #LeadLAP
A1 Yesterday our school supported students who wanted to βwalk outβ in demonstration of their feelings about the school shooting in Florida & more. They were validated. Just left #coffeeEDU-heard of great connections being made, but we need more. #leadlap
A2: My best friend at work tells it to me straight, especially when my delivery of info is poor. My husband works at my school, even before that he has told me when my "great idea" is about to be a Michael Scott idea in the eyes of the staff. : ) #LeadLAP#Limitless School
A2 - My best friend is the most creative teacher Iβve ever met. Every week he does new things to inspire his students. He motivates me to be a better teacher. #LeadLAP
A2: This is a challenge because Iβm in a new school. I have a number of new βwork spouses.β BUT, I get to meet with @LovePhyEd and @RunDanceLive weekly to look at elements of our culture and talk about the Rubiks Cube. @ #leadLAP
A2: my bothers @brewerhm@_AndyJacks bring constant elevation and motivation. They push me to get better and inspire my fire to bring it everyday for everyone I serve. #LimitlessSchool#leadlap
Q2 joining late - @mcfatrichk@volklisa68 are other elem prince in my district who inspire & push me each day, this summer we put on a 3 day staff retreat for our bldgs #leadlap

Q2: Iβm an AP at a MS/HS and my wife, @TeacherMiller17 is an elementary teacher so she inspires and motivates me with the creative ideas she has for her class. I constantly take ideas from things she does and make them fit in a secondary level. #LeadLAP
A2: Finding my tribe has led me to an amazing weekend at #TALE2018 presenting work we do back home with two of my best literacy leader friends. #LeadLAP
A2: I guess I don't really have a work spouse we may still be in the dating phase or friend zone. I would like to keep it there. She is a great person but she can do a good bit of complaining and I like to keep things positive. #leadlap
A3: It is an interesting observation having working in many locations some staff break into private spaces to create more storms. I find the successful teams lean on each other to build a strong foundation rather than removing key blocks through negativity . #leadlap
A2: I have a close friend who I refer to as my βMikeβ and we are sounding boards listeners encouragers and kick in the pants-ers...everyone needs a βMikeβ on their team...I believe @JayBilly2 wrote about his Mike...#LeadLAP
When I came to the school, I tried to focus everything around our core values of Hardworking, Empathy, and Safety. I would like to celebrate more students doing these things. #leadlap#LimitlessSchool
A3: We stay focused on what matters. Connect with one another in order to engage, not confront. The best of us de-escalate one another when we need it the most. Stay focused on the team! #LeadLAP
A3 we have fortunately few instances like this. Our Principal @hcs_echs was diagnosed with and beat Breast Cancer over the last 2 years. The school has rallied behind her and held Pink Put a and rallies. It has been very unifying. #LeadLAP
A1: The teacher that works next door is amazing. I am so lucky. I have decided my "career goal" is to keep teaching next to her as long as possible, knowing many might never have that joy. No drama allowed, instead we play with math. #leadlap
A3: I firmly believe the A-Team sets the tone. The first step is recognizing and acknowledging to the staff that we are in a storm. Itβs okay to say, βthis is toughβ and get into the trenches with the staff. It means a lot to teachers to hear that their leaders get it. #leadlap
A3- Our staff is not afraid to tackle the big issues, the "elephants in the room." We also know how to keep humor when dealing with the hard conversations. #leadLAP
A3: It is an interesting observation having working in many locations some staff break into private spaces to create more storms. I find the successful teams lean on each other to build a strong foundation rather than removing key blocks through negativity . #leadlap
Same! This is actually my second year, so I had a couple of good βforward-thinkingβ friends last year, but they moved on to bigger and better things. βΊοΈ #LeadLAP
A3: We are a new school so we are still in the honeymoon phase to an extent, but the work is also really hard so people get down. We celebrate all the time, we always try to say yes to every βcrazyβ idea and we serve each other as counselors when necessary. #LeadLAP
A3: Went through rough times this week. School threatened, police presence, fire alarm triggers lockdown for 3 hours. Ts stayed positive and stayed out of social media war/negativity. As comms director, I shared what positive messages we received. #LeadLAP#LimitlessSchool
A2) A work spouse to keep me motivated might be really helpful. I have adopted a grumpy teacher to try to keep motivated but haven't really depended on that teacher to return the favor. #LeadLAP
A3: Our building is amazing in that we have a very close knit family-like faculty. We pull together in tough times, lift each other up, and work as a team toward our goals. We don't let hard times divide us--they bring us together. #FalconPride#LeadLAP#LimitlessSchool
A2: My work 'wife' (buddy) kicks me in the butt to make sure I am working at my best. We also share our resources daily in one common course that we teach. #leadLAP
A3: I'm proud of a strong leadership team, & especially a strong principal, @PrinSilliman, who does what's right, even when it's hard. I love learning alongside her every day, even on the hard days. The reflection and driving vision & culture has been great this year. #LeadLAP
A3: We are a family @CentralCabotpK4, and when someone experiences loss, is sick, struggling with a student or family....our #CEtribe comes together. We do this openly and transparently, and are known for this! #leadlap
Q3: We are working at rebranding and reshaping our school culture for this purpose! This had been an area of growth, but our relentless optimism, energy and passion will help us build a strong positive culture to weather any storm! #LeadLAP
A3: As educators, our integrity is constantly tested. We must remember this core value is at the root of what we do. When times are tough, the culture is tested too. It is then that we must lead with that integrity & stay the course. #leadlap
A3:Fortunate to work with a staff who motivates and inspires each other everyday and is willing to do whatever it takes, not matter how tough it may be. Build leadership from within, empower your staff and stand together! #leadlap
A3: We keep our focus on the kids, centering ourselves we think is best for them and their education, regardless of anyone's "agenda". We are in the midst of tough times, facing schools closing, and we are rallying to make everyone's transition as smooth as possible. #leadlap
A3 I wish I could say with confidence that we DO stay strong in these moments, but I really can't. I (and other like minded colleagues) try to maintain the positive outlook and push to be better, but sometimes it feels like we are swimming upstream! #LeadLAP
A3: @ryanssiemens and I are very intentional in making sure the staff knows our doors are always open for them. That if they are in need, we are always there to support them. #LeadLAP
A3: When we have had storms in the past, we have circled the wagons and pulled close to each other. These moments seem to help us focus on the humanity of our profession. I am blessed to be part of a staff that I know have my back. #leadlap
Q3: unfortunately this is where we are falling apart, we are literally crumbling around the edges. I just orderd Culturize and Limitless Schools this morning. #leadlap
A3: Things can get pretty tough but we pull together as a team, laugh, and have fun. We always ensure to repair relationships with staff and students throughout the day. #leadlap
Q3: Since I'm a district support person, we try to model by being transparent, sharing our testimonies that include successes and failures. Being open to constructive feedback, consistent, and present. Only expecting from others what we will do ourselves. #LeadLap
A3 Without integrity we should pack it up and go home. I strive to be the same person with everyone I am with. That enables me to not have to look over my shoulder or be concerned of as much backlash. Modeling integrity is a way of life. #LeadLAP
A3The team members within the school compose the culture. When tough times arise it is imperative for the team to strengthen their collaborative connections, solidify their determination to endure the difficulty,& engage in purposeful reflection after the tough times end. #leadlap
A3: When we have had storms in the past, we have circled the wagons and pulled close to each other. These moments seem to help us focus on the humanity of our profession. I am blessed to be part of a staff that I know have my back. #leadlap
A3- We lost an AP last year and it was tough. For the entire school year we were done this one administrator. But just like a family, we pulled together and support one another because at the end of the day, it's all about the students. #leadlap
A3: We set up a problem of practice protocol. It has only been used 2 or 3 times but just having a forum to address issues is huge. Don't let small problems become big problems! #LeadLAP#LimitlessSchool
A3: We stand by whatβs best for kids no matter the situation-continuously asking this question& reminding teachers of this helps them when tough times happen.Providing support and have conversations- sometimes difficult ones- 2 make sure we R living by that statement #LeadLAP
A3 - There is a constant feedback loop between the administration and teachers on how to promote our schoolβs culture. We also discuss the constant βnoiseβ that can bring people down, and how to focus on whatβs good in our school. #LeadLAP
A3: A big shout out @burgessdave for his GPS video. We set our GPS each year by coming up with our why. This year the teachers made banners and they hang in or PLC room to remind us of our why! That is what anchors us in the storms. #LeadLAP
A3: I have learned that as a lead learner, I can be weak sometimes, and let others be my strength. That is VERY difficult for me, but my tribe has taught me. #leadlap
A3: We all go through tough times individually & as a staff. At those times, I try to bring some fun to the table and give people a chance to forget about those troubles even if it's just for a few minutes #LeadLAP#LimitlessSchool
#LeadLAP A3. We are going through stormy waters now. I really believe people need to feel valued and supported in order to survive. They want to be heard and respected. They need to have communication and understanding of all the info and decisions made.
A3 I'm proud of our family @MaplecrestLeban. We work hard and play hard together. We are there for each other in times of sorrow and celebrate with each other in time of joy! We do what is right and not what is easy. #LeadLAP
A3 Rule Number one - βItβs always about the kidsβ Rule Number Two- βMake it funβ - if you follow those two rules everything else falls into place #leadlap@DynamicDuda338#WonderTwins
A3: our crew is amazingly professional, caring and always concerned for the well being of kids and each other...during stormy times the look to their captain (yikes) and we chart our course together thoughtfully and with the focus of what is best for kids #LeadLAP
A3
@Beulah_ES , we are a family. Learn together, grow together, lean on each other through tough times. Great hospitality team.
#leadLAP#LimitlessSchool
A3: It is a matter of the staff room. It is a hub for snacks, chatter, and problem solving. It is the unintentional culture builder. The foundations we build there, makes our school stronger for the rough seas
#LeadLAP
A3: One of our core values is about connecting families. We want students, staff and parents to feel as though they are part of a larger family. #leadlap
A3: Our principle started a weekly conversation with each grade. She calls it "hearing your voice". It's a friendly atmosphere to speak about troubling things in school. #leadlap
A3: We had a tough incident a few weeks ago. @Taft712 staff and Ss shared all of the positive things going on over social media. It felt good to read good while handling difficult. ASB then made a valentine for every human in our school. #leadLAP#howmanywins#LimitlessSchool
A3 I wish we had more that rallied together than against each other, but as our strong caring educators lead our campus we will transform our campus using integrity at the heart of it. those against positivity will be so miserable they will change or leave. #leadlap
A3: This is why the βWhy?β Is so important. If we have our purpose and can point to our why in stormy times, that will guide us. Uproar over SBG? If it fits our βWhy?β then thatβs something we defend. #leadLAP
A3.b I think it's also safe to say that "we" are the culture. So in the storms, reflect on ourselves personally and become aware of our actions and words and how they are either impacting the culture in a positive or negative way. #leadlap
A4: I hear much of our graduation rate. As someone new to the school and a stakeholder myself I celebrate the leadership and their example to staff and support so that we can do best for students. #LeadLAP
A4: Our school is recognized for a couple things. How much our community is involved in our school and how visible our learning is to everyone. All but 2 homeroom classes use Twitter and our support staff uses it too! #LeadLAP
A4: It's 'transfer time' here so Ts can put into the system to move schools. Happy to hear so many are staying and happy to know we have many who have applied. I think our Twitter shows our positive culture and Ts just sharing their new appreciation of the campus. #LeadLAP
We use Facebook (since most parents use this form of SM) to tell our story. Our students and the things happening are the limelight. Our story is the limelight. #leadlap#LimitlessSchool
A4: Our families and community celebrate with us on social media. They enjoy feeling connected through our YouTube channel, Smore communicator, Facebook Page, Instagram, and Twitter feed. We share lots of pics and vids of kids and their activity during the school day. #leadlap
A4. Our kids are very involved in their school. They take part in clubs, they participate in sports, they are on academic teams. There is a ton of staff and community support for all of these amazing things our kiddos do. #LeadLAP
A3: We are an inclusive school and do our best to be so! There is a place for everyone and when one of us struggles, we all rally to support each other in the toughest times! We are #BruinStrong#LeadLAP
I heard you at TEPSA 4 years ago as an AP. Right after I got my 1st principalship and used your book to launch our year and it has set the stage each year. My AP now @lhelton15 and I read #LeadLap this summer together and are using it as well
4) Stakeholders recognize they are not just a data point, but actually have a stake in our success. We see partnerships and symbiotic where we try to benefit them as much as they benefit us. #leadlap
We photograph the awesome things and share them with our community - here is one from this week where kids did an art, tech and writing collaborative unit #LeadLAP
A3: Seasons change. I think we all know that Spring follows winter, so we just have to focus on our Ss and look for the blossoms. We are mostly stable, so that is a blessing. #LeadLAP
A4) I celebrate the great things students do by making a #GoodNewsCallOfTheDay. Itβs powerful to receive a positive phone call from the principal. #LeadLAP
A4 One of the benefits of being at a small school is everyone knows each other (staff and students) and everyone looks out for everyone else βweβre a family at BURLING School #leadlap@DynamicDuda338#WonderTwins
A4: Our stakeholders love to celebrate learning. You can follow it at #peqpantherpride and #pvpantherpride. We love to highlight all the great things going on! #leadlap
A4: The Unified Track program is celebrated in our community! We're on our second year & hope to bring even more students together for this inspiring event this spring! #leadlap
A4 well, we are about to have a big celebration around @NationalHistory! We are going to surely have some regional winners that will get recognized and celebrated. They love showing off their medals! #LeadLAP
A4: I hope that our biggest celebrations surround the wonderful, well-rounded, caring, and thoughtful students who go on to do amazing things in their future pursuits! #FalconsCARE#LeadLAP#LimitlessSchool
A4
Accelerated Reader program: prize cart.
Positive referral to admin: office celebrates loud, gives candy/pencil/etc and a positive phone call home.
Random acts of kindness on our morning news: put them on tv and praise them.
#leadLAP#LimitlessSchool
A4 This year we held a fall festival where families in the community came to play and enjoy staff leading games and food together. Elementary does this often, MS not so much. We hope to keep it alive. #leadlap
A4: We're working to be recognized as a green school- students use silverware and washable trays. We compost and recycle and we are planting in our new school garden. Plus, we use less energy for heating and light with big windows. #leadlap
Appreciative inquiry is so important. Spend time talking about what is going well- it really helps validate your efforts especially if you are a long way from reaching your goal. #LeadLAP
Q4: we celebrate student success! Academic. Arts. Athletics. Clubs. Organizations. Inside and outside the classroom. From little things like an A on an assessment to big things like a championship. Our focus is on student success. #leadlap
A4: I think something stakeholders celebrate is that for a large school we are still βhubβ of community. Suburban with lots of rural. Community is proud of school and especially our staff. #leadLAP
A4 We celebrate our students at the end of each month for being leaders in character traits. A different one gets featured each month Kindness, Teamwork etc. #LeadLAP
A3: A mentor @rodraymond_rod says βtough times donβt last, tough people do.β The best way to weather any storm is to do so, together. Stay true to you and your who (the people you serve). #LimitlessSchool#leadlap
A4: Each 9 weeks we have quarterly grade level meetings and give an opportunity for schools to share their successes with others. Also we have Friday updates that celebrate awesomeness as well. Let's not forget tweeting about some great things as well! #LeadLAP
A4: For the most important stakeholder is parents, and I know that our parents celebrate that our school is a safe and caring place filled with adults who genuinely care about their tiny human. #leadlap
A4: We are transparent about student leadership, and growing leaders. We show these things on social media and working to embed student voice more into our culture. We have lots to learn and a ways to go, but we are on our way! #leadlap
This is why schoolsβ positive sharing over social media must be a constant. Bad things will happen and itβs so helpful to have regular affirmation to stakeholders about all the good. #k12prchat#LeadLAP
A3: We had a tough incident a few weeks ago. @Taft712 staff and Ss shared all of the positive things going on over social media. It felt good to read good while handling difficult. ASB then made a valentine for every human in our school. #leadLAP#howmanywins#LimitlessSchool
#A4: Everyday we have morning announcements about our schools sports teams.
However the message to students is that sports matters more over other areas of school
#LeadLAP
A3: One of our core values is about connecting families. We want students, staff and parents to feel as though they are part of a larger family. #leadlap
A4: Good morning #leadlap family. We mindfully celebrate #connections and #kindness. It's so important to focus on the positives, to spotlight the successes, to grow together and lift one another up!
A4:We created highlight videos for each of our schools to share the great things going on. We also created an advertisement for our school@District that ran during previews at local movie theater #leadlap
A4. Community members, parents, and families are ALWAYS willing to get involved, be supportive, and do their part. I just sent out a sign-up for an event in May and within a few hours, most spots were filled. It was a good feeling to have that much support! #leadlap
A4 Our stem initiatives, our WL accomplishments, our art and music performances, our awesome students and teachers. And yes our sports teams as well. The whole student. #leadLAP
A4: Our open door policy. We aim to be the port in the storm that is our community. We are there to educate and support students and families with not only academics, but also character, resources, and opportunities for families. #LeadLAP
A4: Weβve begun tapping into the power of social media full steam this year. Added Instagram account per S request, & I owe push out all the good daily/weekly on all platforms. Encouraging Ts to grow #PLN on SM too. #LeadLAP
A4.2
We get praise from families about how welcoming our school facility and faculty are.
The community loves how involved we are with them.
#leadLAP#LimitlessSchool#ecsdfl
A4) We hold a food drive in the fall for our local food pantries and celebrate surpassing our goal. We celebrate most victories whether large or small. #LeadLAP
A4 We celebrate students with our parents through positive office referrals and positive phone calls home. We have a monthly breakfast for families and recognize students at that time, too. We celebrate through our social media platforms the success of our students. #LeadLAP
A5: Its not a matter of IF - but what! We can always find things we have been successful at. We share with each other of the things we are proud of. We talk about what our goals for next year will be. #LeadLAP
A4: Our diversity, achievement & culture. Our Ss. excel because our Teachers strive to be their best everyday! Our students diversity strengthens us as a community! We also have the best student fan group! @Bruin_Crazies are Positive & uplifting regardless the score! #LeadLAP
A5: are kids as happy and engaged the last day as the first?! Are teachers excited about the next year? Are students dreading being away for the summer?! #LeadLAP
A4: We are a science focused school, but we get positive comments from the school community knows that still value the arts & creativity because we want to offer as many opportunities as we can for our Ss #LeadLAP#LimitlessSchool
A5- That's a good question. Being in a new building, I'm not quite sure how success is measured. We tend to give out student and family "culture and climate" surveys. For me I think of success in terms of academics, culture, involving behavior, attendance, etc. #leadlap
A1: We have implemented Coveyβs 7 habits of @TheLeaderinMe which teaches principles & communication skills needed for life. Itβs about empowering leaders - Ss take the lead & find their voice. #leadlap
5) We donβt wait until the end of the year. When I hire teachers I ask, β At the end of the day, how do you know if it has been a good day or a bad day?β Their ability to reflect and find moments of success in every moment is essential. #leadlap
A4: We celebrate everyday F2F and through out #fmsteach hashtag! Staff and Ss tweet out and then we copy to FB and Insta. STUCO runs our @Snapchat account. #leadLAP
A4 My time is actually split between two schools. Both schools have incredibly community connections. We make it a point to invite the community in and involve them in what we do. @raehughart is the QUEEN of community connections! #leadlap
A5 Success is when the year ends without major setbacks. No huge tragedy, staff & Ss celebrate their year at awards ceremonies & the biggy, STAAR test scores hit & we are improving from previous years! Growth is success!
#leadlap
A5: I think we are still answering that, BUT I believe some idea about helping create multiple βpathwaysβ that help all of our students succeeds will be in that final answer. #leadLAP
A5: we talk and write down what went well, what we would like to continue doing and what didnβt work well...like to look at that feedback in June to help plan for the fall...great reflections come from students and staff #leadlap
Q5: Success of the school year is determined by the students. Events such as proms, breakfasts & graduation show that students have enjoyed another awesome year. We also conduct climate & culture surveys of all stakeholders to gain valuable feedback! #leadlap
A5: Success is defined by growth. Too often schools/teachers get evaluated on raw statistics which have no value when measuring performance over the course of a year #LeadLAP
A4: We're having a Math Night this week. Earlier in the year, we had a STEM night and a Literacy Night. We're celebrating Read Across America day on Friday. Students are encouraged to dress up like favorite book character. #leadlap
A5. Of course we take a look at test scores - thatβs the nature of our current education climate; however, I also really enjoy talking about the growth weβve seen in our kids. We award them for things like citizenship, art, positivity, community service hours, etc. #LeadLAP
A5: This is our first year together, so I'm not sure what we'll do! Definitely reflect! Look at growth in Ts and Ss (behaviorally, emotionally, academically, etc) Lots of areas of success! Thankfully not just based on test scores.
#LeadLAP
A5: Do Ts feel energized & excited about what happened during the dash between the 2017 and 2018? Do Ss want to come to school? Have we spread the positives? Have we made the positives so loud that the negatives are now impossible to hear? -@gcouros#LeadLAP
A5: Success is usually measured by test scores. In Texas, we have seven standards of measurement that indicate success. My favorite one is the growth. Itβs not fair to say that each student should hit a particular mark, but it is reasonable that every student should grow #leadlap
A5: I hope we see it on the students and teachers faces as they walk out the door for the summer. Hugs, "miss you"s, and "see you in a couple of months!"s #LeadLAP
A5: At the beginning of the eyar, we set goals which are revisited/reflected upon throughout. At our last meeting for that school year we go over all those notes and draft a new path. #leadlap
S4: I would say our school is noted by stakeholders for our positive culture. We continue to work on the work. It is a priority. We are working to establish along with a positive culture to create a culture that is focused on a β€οΈ of learning. #LeadLAP
A5: Data, data data! Our focus is on changing the habit of running all year and then just start running again in the fall. We need to end the year strong, reflective and intentionally!! #leadLAP
A4: @PrincipalGarden had an excellent share this week on voxer about having a way for parents to share shout outs about staff - it was an amazing idea! #LeadLAP
A4 #LeadLAP our student advisories make scarecrows and fall decorations to be auctioned off at the annual harvest hoedown with all proceeds going to our local food bank!! So fun and we do food drives for them as well.
A5 We want our students to have memorable memories of their year. Will they miss us over the summer? Are teachers excited about the opportunities coming up in the next year? #LeadLAP
A5: Closing the gaps (achievement, opportunity, access, etc) is always a key measure, though itβs important to remember that success is never final and our work is never finished. #LeadLAP
A5: I hope that we measure success in a variety of GROWTH factors: academic, social, & emotional...If students are better learners, thinkers, citizens, leaders, & problem solvers than they were when we started, then that sounds pretty successful to me. #LeadLAP#LimitlessSchool
A5: By looking at growth in all areas of the site. We need to be comfortable with change. Itβs ok to be where we are today, as long as we are reflective, asking questions and seeking solutions to concerns with the hope of moving forward the next day, week, month. #LeadLAP
A5: Its not a matter of IF - but what! We can always find things we have been successful at. We share with each other of the things we are proud of. We talk about what our goals for next year will be. #LeadLAP
A5 - βGas Gapβ. Iβm writing about this in my book. How do faculty and students maintain a nigh morale throughout the year. The βdaily grindβ of school can get some people down. I try to stress the importance of continued reflection on our job as educators. #LeadLAP
A5: My situation is a bit different than most. At the end of the year, I want my students to feel safe and be safe at school. I want them to learn how to build meaningful relationships with others and know someone (me) cares about them...always. #leadlap
A4: Our kids and teachers are creative and willing to take intellectual risks. There have been quite a few moments where all stakeholders are proud. #LeadLAP#LimitlessSchool
True. How can we improve culture throughout the year, if we wait until the end to assess it? Need more of that formative feedback with culture too! #leadlap
A5: Our success is in our learning, growth and reflection. Have I achieved my goals? How can I do better tomorrow? How have I moved from me to WE? Are we the BEST we WE can be? How have we grown? #leadlap
Its so easy to focus on the negative - the wish I would have done. If we celebrate the positive, the negatives don't go away, but they are reframed. #LeadLAP
A5: i think there needs to be a good balance of data AND conversation. Ts, Ss, school council can all give me insights that could hold the key to improvements for next year. Success isn't just about academia. #leadlap
A5: We are focused on State indicators of graduation rate, growth & proficiency on testing & ACT scores. But as a community we measure success individually & collectively on our vision. We ask: Were students Engaged/Empowered? Have they Achieved? Do they Contribute? #LeadLAP
A5: As a teacher, I feel success when students want to come to school. One student recently asked me, "Why can't we have school on Saturday and Sunday too?" #leadlap
A5 #LeadLAP we try and do Surveys/Evans after most events using Google Forms to compile data to see what we liked and what worked as well as what we can improve upon when itβs still fresh in our minds. Some are for staff, some for students and some both!!
A4: We are "overcomers". Our robotics teams is headed to state finals. We have an active Student Council. There is so muchmore to be proud of, @LimeStreetBears#leadlap
A5: We look at the growth our students have made all around. Specifically we look at the kids that have needed extra support and love and look at their academic, social and emotional growth. We also look at thechanges in the culture in our common spaces. #LeadLAP
A5: Part of measuring our success at the end of the year is defining our goals at the beginning of it and developing shared understanding of what success looks like. #LeadLAP
A5.b- I would like to measure success with having students answer this question "Do you enjoy coming to our school?" Give it at the beginning and end of the year. #leadlap
One of the reasons we started Saturday Academies, combo of academics and culture that offer kids enrichment. They have been rather well attended. #leadlap
We use a couple of them! It takes time to communicate & share the why! We use #ChantillyPride to tell our school's story. #ChantillyPD is used to share PD resources with staff and #FCPSon helps us tell the story of our transformation of teaching and learning! #LeadLAP
A5 We discuss growth plans, PLC progress & next steps, IPPs and behaviour plans. Having small and large group discussionshelp to determine climate. #LeadLAP
A5: My first measurement of success is the happiness of kids, and their disposition toward school, along with staff and families. It is easy to tell when someone doesn't want to be there. We must find out why. #leadlap
A5 I work in a private school and we measure student growth in academics, and personal/social areas. We also have the measure of how many families re-up for the next year. Finally, I look at teacher growth. It takes a team. #leadlap
A6: I was on TweetDeck yesterday and retweeted so many ideas from the #LeadLAP hashtag. Such amazing and inspiring work happening each day! Thank you to everyone sharing! Love always having something new to try.
A6: Visiting other schools is an amazing experience. We have had 10 staff go to @OpalSchool and have brought back ideas to implement. It has added to conversations and things we want to do! HIGHLY recommend! #LeadLAP
A5- I'm at a PK-5 school. One measure we use is to look at how many of our S's are graduating. Our school invites them back the month they are graduating and celebrate them at a school wide assembly. #leadLAP
A6: so many wonderful ideas from my PLN. I want to work on more positive social media to tell our school story and create a # for our school/staff to shre oit all the amazing ppsotove happening in the day. #leadlap
A6) I want to amplify student voice by having students produce and create weekly video messages for staff, families, and community about the great things happening. #LeadLAP
Q5: we set growth goals from our district strategic plan. We selected common strategies we would implement as a staff supported by PD. Several times per year we review that data with staff and the central office to give updates on our good work! Lots to celebrate #LeadLAP
A5: Itβs important to keep a history of what weβve done and/or tried. The success comes from taking action in some way and in growing as learners. #LeadLAP#LimitlessSchool
A6: This year we have participated in the #ObserveMe movement. Each week, teachers visit a colleague's class, give feedback, and do a shoutout on Twitter. It has been very positive, and Ts are learning from each other! #leadlap
A6
I just read a response about how a school is collecting positive comments about their teachers from parents and celebrating those with their faculty. Our teachers deserve this, I want to know how best to implement this.
#leadLAP#LimitlessSchool#ecsdfl
After 13 years, this year was the first I have gone on instructional rounds with new teachers as a mentor. It was so enlightening & inspiring to see my colleagues in actions doing great things! We must do more! #LeadLAP@PrincipalAlfaro
Yeah, it's something we always talked about out my old school, but never found something that worked. I'd really like to get a #pineapplechart going! #LeadLAP
A6: Off the top of my head.... St lead conferences in every grade level. We have pockets, but how powerful would it be to have parents informed by their goal oriented, empowered and informed child from K to 5? #leadLAP
A6: Our most successful schools are the ones that include all stakeholders in important decisions, uplift each other consistently, and view students as "our students" not mine.I would like to see more student leaders: soft skills emphasized like SPECIAL, MOD, and LOVE. #LeadLAP
I started intentionally placing Day Maker phone calls again; it's the BEST to see these kids beam as I call their parents to affirm their child and their parenting! #leadlap
A6 Our school has been focusing on 2 things- better assessment practices and building a Maker mentality. We have also done a lot more collaboration with each other and other schools. #LeadLAP
A6: I've seen other schools integrating more student-driven educational opportunities, such as genius hour. We're on our way by adding makerspaces & innovative electives, & I can't wait to see the results! #leadlap
A6-Leader-in-Me! I went to a LIM conference in my first year of teaching and it changed me personally and professionally. I believe student voice, student choice, and student-driven schools are the way to go! #leadlap
Sure! I sent a secret email out to parents, discussed our positive office referral system for Ss and said I thought Ts should also get some positive referrals. #leadLAP
A5: We set goals at each semester and we check in with our data and observations at the half-way mark. Are we still moving in the right direction & meeting Ss needs or do we need to make a shift??? #LeadLAP#LimitlessSchool
I asked parents to share positive praise for teachers and it was so awesome and teachers were genuinely moved...so powerful! We also made a Crew Shoutouts Board in Staffroom! #leadlap
We need these broader ways to measure the success of schools and our students, and stakeholders must be both informed of and play a role in that assessment. #LeadLAP
A5: I hope that we measure success in a variety of GROWTH factors: academic, social, & emotional...If students are better learners, thinkers, citizens, leaders, & problem solvers than they were when we started, then that sounds pretty successful to me. #LeadLAP#LimitlessSchool
A6: we try to showcase teachers doing great things on our own campus! Each month we put on βWalk the Parkβ where the instructional coaches take Ts, during their conference, to observe their peers and then we talk about how to implement things they saw in their classroom. #leadlap
A6: I would like to do a one-book-one-school kind of program. but maybe focus on a theme or character trait and have Ts chose a book to fit that. Something @mrbgilson and I have been chatting about. @drrobinbright planted the idea awhile ago. #LeadLAP
A6-I learned that another high school has Alumni Day on the half day before winter break. They serve breakfast and the alumni go to classes as guest speakers. I would LOVE to start this tradition. Besides, graduates always want to come and visit. #leadlap
I work with a lot of schools as a party of @thegridmethod team and I get to see so many amazing educators and communities transforming education with mastery learning. I'd love to see that same shift happen in my own district @CHUHSchools#LeadLAP#teachbetter#MasteryChat
A6: I just learned about an amazing lunch time game program that provides leadership opportunities for students and gives everyone a place to be included. Want to start that up when I return to my other school #LeadLAP
A5: That is an excellent question. It has to be more than "we survived". I think this is a conversation that needs to be had. We need to step back and notice where we thrived and what the key factors were in order to relicate them elsewhere. #LeadLAP
A6: On a recent site visit, we saw an AWESOME professional development plan/calendar that offered choice, leadership, collaboration, community building, & innovation opportunities. Would love to figure out how to incorporate those options in our plan. #LeadLAP#LimitlessSchool
I then started getting emails from parents, I made a certificate of awesomeness and each week I surprise Ts and deliver one to the room, read it, S whose parent sent it-take a picture w/T and post on social media. Huge smiles on T faces! #leadLAP
A6- We have sent all of our classroom T's to #RCA. We have worked hard to bring back all of the energy and innovation learned there. We started school-wide transformation days this year. An Eagle Cup/ House challenge with a massive end year assembly and competition. #leadLAP
A6: We began a tradition last year of a senior walk, where former Central kids come back with their caps and gowns and parade through our school! They visit with former teachers and talk to kids. It was AMAZING! #leadlap
A6: I have visited 2 other PLCs outside my district to continue to improve how we look at data and have our conversations around data. I would love to hear how others do the work. Collaboration and teamwork is key. @AltaVistaES is rocking it this year! #LeadLAP
A6 There are SO many! Our students & parents LOVE it when we dress up and dance outside and welcome them to school. Any ideas on ways to celebrate our students & teachers. Positive phone calls, foodie cart for teachers, any way we can empower our students to be leaders. #LeadLAP
A6: We are in the process of trying to do more project based learning and innovative learning building wide. Any advice is appreciated to help through the process. #leadlap
A6.b- Also, as a school counselor, I want to advocate for more mental health resources for ALL students and staff. A counselor can play a large, positive role in the school-climate, and unfortunately, many schools don't have counselors or social workers. #leadlap
A6: So many great ideas! My goal is to refocus on the individuals around me. Itβs about time I get to hand writing Thank you notes! I know how much they mean to me! #LeadLAP
A6 - I see other schools using technology not just as a tool for instruction, but also to promote their school, students and staff. While we do use technology frequently and well, Iβd love to see more use of Twitter, Instagram, Flipgrid, etc.. to showcase students! #leadlap
A6) Transparency, meaningful use of tech, student-centered classrooms, student choice/voice and appropriate differentiation...Things to keep in sight as goals for the coming school year are formed. #LeadLAP
A6: Using LAP/ Title funds to pay for subs for Data Days with grade level teams has been amazing. We look at data in the morning, set goals, and plan together in the afternoon. I really appreciate this time. #leadlap
A6b: One thing we are doing is showcasing reading strategies we are using, in staff meeting and sharing resources, and also on a bulletin board which creates the common language amongst staff and students #LeadLAP
A4: We celebrate risk taking and student empowerment. We do it with βShoutoutβ notes and staff newsletters besides verbal shoutouts at meetings and and such. #LeadLAP
A6. Goals are vital in giving us measureable data. We have student goals, individual staff goals and school goals. I lead by example and openly share my goals with all stakeholders. #LeadLAP
BOOM! Don't let your school counselor be your single-point failure by putting all of your eggs in our basket. Truly It Takes A Village rings truer than ever when it comes to nurturing #SEL skills and habits. #leadlap
Sure! I sent a secret email out to parents, discussed our positive office referral system for Ss and said I thought Ts should also get some positive referrals. #leadLAP
A6 I see other schools focusing on gratitude and appreciation of all, consistently giving shoutouts I think that is a powerful culture setting step #leadlap
A6: seeing schools engage kids in exciting and inspiring ways has influenced me. Positive office referrals are an example of one thing we borrowed this year. #LeadLAP
A7: I think a goal would be to allow for more student voice. I think I need more suggestions on how we can do this - but I'd like to see it happen! #LeadLAP
We are a 5-8 school, and do it at all grade levels. It is great to see the progression/growth in confidence and self-esteem that goes along with it. #leadlap
A6: I am new to Twitter (2 mos.) and it has been a complete game changer in terms of my practice. I have learned more, implemented more and grown more in the last two months than I had in the prior 20 years! So blessed and thankful to have climbed out from under my rock! #LeadLAP
I asked parents to share positive praise for teachers and it was so awesome and teachers were genuinely moved...so powerful! We also made a Crew Shoutouts Board in Staffroom! #leadlap
Maybe start with positive calls home about students and if parents say positive thing about teacher, ask parent if you can use it. Double the positive with one call. #leadlap
A7: Another goal is to continue to learn and grow with both my PLN and face to face interactions. Our teachers do amazing things and I want to help spread the word by trending the positive. #LeadLAP
A6: We have an amazing feeder high school that encourages kids to create/design their own projects and impact their communities. I would like to see those types of experiences aligned. #LeadLAP#LimitlessSchool
A7: Be intentional. After collaborating with teachers, visit their classrooms with a star and a wish, and collaborate some more. Continue to remind our staffs of their value! Be their cheerleader. (Of course I have more.) We are stronger together. #LeadLAP
A7: Ongoing goal... Bring our team all together around effectively teaching all grade level standards with fidelity. Be good to one another and trust our system! Stay out of the weeds!! Be more concise, I know you said 1 goal, I am wordy!!! Lololol! #LeadLAP
A7 Continue the Joy and Celebrations of staff and students! Make better efforts to be consistent & do it publically for Ss & Staff to feel acknowledged. #leadlap
A7: One goal I would like to set is sustainability. How do we sustain culture when the staff changes or the next district or state initiative sweeps through. #LeadLAP
A7: I want to intentionally continue to create positive school moments for the kids and adults in our school and throughout our greater district #leadlap
No one (staff or student)wants to spend β8 hours a dayβ in a place they are not having fun π- if you have the ability to change the culture and make it positive and βhappy β π why wouldnβt you? #leadlap
A6b: Now it is my responsibility to share and model my growth with my staff and share the notion that you donβt have to be bad to want to be better. Iβm committed to leading the charge of going from good to great! #LeadLAP
A6: I had a student leader come and ask me if she can implement Tiger History Month. She had a great thinking web of all of the ideas. It is going to be AMAZING! We ned to celebrate our amazing school history and pride! #LeadLAP#LimitlessSchool
Love all this. Are all families invited to the breakfasts? One drawback of limiting celebrations to students of the month is that they include only those kidsβ parents. And sometimes those are the most engaged parents anyway. #LeadLAP
A4 We celebrate students with our parents through positive office referrals and positive phone calls home. We have a monthly breakfast for families and recognize students at that time, too. We celebrate through our social media platforms the success of our students. #LeadLAP
A7. I donβt need to set a new goal at this point. Rather, revisit our existing goals, renew or tweak them and press on for a strong second half of the year. We revisit our goals every quarter: individually and collectively. #leadLAP
A7 - I promise students on the first day of school that I will always come to class happy. Sometimes this can be tough for students who are having a tough day. I know that might seem counterintuitive, but negatively sometimes doesnβt want positivity. I must remain happy! #LeadLAP
A7: Focus on remaining positive through any struggle! This can be a goal each & every year. We must be the voices of inspiration for our students every day! #JoyfulLeaders#leadlap
A7: My goal for the rest of this year is to continue #brandingourschool and getting into classrooms to showcase the awesome learning that is happening there! #LeadLAP#LimitlessSchool
A7: One of my goals is to help students and staff get more mindful about staying in the moment, noticing the senses, breathing with intention, and appreciating the present. Here's a song I wrote to share with them on my ukulele this week! #leadlap
A7) My goal for the rest of the year is to be more transparent and communicate more with staff and parents about the great things going on with my gifted students and in my elem music classes. #LeadLAP
That is awesome. This year I mailed a Thanksgiving card to someone special connected to each of my Ts. I continue to get letters from moms, sisters, family members. Made a difference with how staff came back after holiday break. #leadLAP
In reply to

I think this may be true for all of us. I keep telling my colleagues, if you are not on twitter and chatting you are missing out on some great ideas and #PLN opportunities #leadlap
#LeadLAP A7. I have 2 goals. One is to create staff reflection of success of our school year. Two is to get student feedback or reflection of their learning and school experience. Any advice how to achieve this please send my way.
Our 5th grade started using @Flipgrid to do a weekly message: birthdays, special events, joke and memory verse or the week, etc... They own it! #LeadLAP
A7: My goal is to help build capacity in my team to use best practices. The desire is there. We are building our skillset and working to push past limitations beyond our control. #LeadLAP
A7: a staff shout out board in the staff room is on the agenda for this week. I also love the idea of positive office visits (sometimes all we see are the negative ones). AND to recognize the work of my colleagues more. Thanks and 'I see you" goes a long way! #LeadLAP
My daughter's Physics teacher sent out Christmas Cards to each of his students that year ... loved that, too, as a mom, to see your kid get a card from her teacher with kind wishes and words! #leadlap

A7 - I would like to inspire our community and students/faculty that actions and words matter. It isnβt a mistake that a culture of positivity is never going to hurt learning. #LeadLAP
A7-My biggest goal is connection and challenging! Connecting with students and staff, as well as having the courage to think outside the box and question and challenge tradition. #leadlap
Yes, yes, a thousand times yes! You need dedicated followers of a school hashtag. And users. Families can share their own learning and travel experiences with the school hashtag. #LeadLAP
A6: We have a staff random act of kindness traveling the campus, but I also want to buil a wall of affirmation & encoragement for staff they can see everyday! Next on my list next! #LeadLAP#LimitlessSchool
A7 I personally have my sites set bigger than my school or my district. My goal for this year is to help others in the greater education community transform their thinking. I'm looking to support an army of education change makers ready to change the world. #LeadLAP
A7: Continue to build relationships and focus on our collective why. Our why needs to be at the forefront as the stressors of the year end increase. Our relationships will always get us through! #LeadLAP
A7: Ongoing goal, get everyone in my building sharing with the world. You used/implemented/developed? Share... It worked, share.... It didn't work, share... We can all get better #leadlap

A lot of your colleagues may underestimate their contribution to the school. As leaders, we need to point out how they have made a positive impact and keep building them up. #learningstl#leadLAP#moedchat
Constantly inspired by a group of educators that gets up and joins a Twitter chat on Saturday mornings to uplift, support, and collaborate. Thank you #LeadLAP!!! #tlap#LimitlessSchool
What an awesome way to begin my Saturday...This has got to be the BEST Twitter Chat on the planet...I believe it is #LeadLAP always walk away inspired and motivated to be a better leader #createmoments
A7: My goal is that we stay focused on our priorities and our "why." If something doesn't fit that, we shouldn't be expending our time there #LeadLAP#LimitlessSchool
A4: Our families and community celebrate with us on social media. They enjoy feeling connected through our YouTube channel, Smore communicator, Facebook Page, Instagram, and Twitter feed. We share lots of pics and vids of kids and their activity during the school day. #leadlap
